The kitchen, bathroom and two-bedroom apartment remodeling which was planned to be completed by Signature within 4 months instead it lasted for more than one year. The contractors were working at our place for just a few hours a day, not even every day of the week. We had to beg them to keep the project going. We’ve heard a lot of excuses from them for not being here.
We have to mention about the stress level associated with this project created just by dealing with the owner and the contract manager. They were really nice when signing the contract, then getting rude and aggressive when the issues were presented to them later. There was not much planning and management on the part of Signature. The manager was rarely present to check the work that was done by subcontractors. We had to take that role, even though it was promised to us and paid for…
Thirteen months later the project had ended with a lot of disappointment about the number of issues we had during that time, and the actual results of the work that was done by Signature and their subcontractors. Here are the examples of the issues we had: ceiling and wall construction part, flooring, door installation, tile work, kitchen installation. Some other issues we had to deal with: the wall kitchen cabinets started to separate from the wall (by showing the big gap) just after 6 months after the installation; the cabinet doors were coming with tons of defects and had to be replaced 2-3 times (also, the doors were installed kind of sloppy); the tile job (specially on the kitchen splash) had to be fixed multiple times, the room doors and pocket door had issues that we had to demand on fixing, shower floor had to be redone multiple time due to not passing the inspection.
Also, at the end of the project we’ve received the invoices showing the charges a lot higher than on the original quotes.
So, if you do want tons of issues with your remodeling job, go ahead and call the Signature…
