Working with Meghan was an incredible experience. Her depth of expertise was evident throughout the process. Meghan helped me focus my ideas, choose the perfect color pallet, furniture and artwork to create the apartment of my dreams. I love how she considered the outside landscape to create a space that is truly magical! She even helped with plant recommendations and placement- i cannot say enough amazing things!

My wife and I went through with a complete remodel of our house and wanted to change our living area configuration. Problem was we were totally lost. In came Meghan. She helped us not only reconfigure our living area and room/bathroom locations, she provided insight on what can increase our house value down the road. She takes the time to work with your vision and budget to get you where you need to go. Needless to say, my wife and I were very satisfied with the Sky City Design experience.

Meghan is an incredible designer. Not only does she have an fantastic sense of style, but she really listened to what we needed from our remodel. She took an aging craftsman kitchen that was overflowing with stuff and makeshift storage, and turned it into a streamlined, beautiful space with room for everything -- and then some. Because we wanted a kitchen island but worried about the small space, she came up with an ingenious solution: a kitchen island that rolls out and tucks back in under the counter. We loooove our new kitchen. Meghan also came up with beautiful designs for a second bathroom, redone bathroom and front hall - which we'll do in phase two. One of the things I loved about working with Meghan is her ability to listen to both my husband and I. We both have different aesthetics and priorities. With her creativity and intuition, Meghan was able to meld these two sometimes competing visions for the house and meld them into one beautiful path forward. Meghan was super responsive to questions, was a fantastic collaborator with our contractor, and a great person to work with all around!

We worked with Meghan to do a house remodel and renovation. The results were spectacular. The things I love the most, were the garage conversion into a guest bedroom suite. The work in there opening up the rafters, showcasing the beams, and the high ceilings really made that a special place. And then, in the master bedroom suite the remodel Showcased the beans and the arches. We ended up touching every single room in the house. She was great to work with. We loved her creative ideas and enthusiasm. And she was great at explaining things and communicating with us throughout the entire project. We couldn’t be happier with Meghan and the end results!

Working with Meghan was an absolute delight. We hired Meghan to do the design work on remodeling of the first floor of our builder home. This included: a kitchen upgrade, and refresh of our powder room, laundry room, and family room. Since this was the first remodeling project we've ever embarked on (we are first time home-owners as well) having Meghan guide us through the project was a godsend. Meghan did SO much for us during the project—she pulled together beautiful designs and drawings, helped us pick out a slab at the slab yard as well as flooring/tiles, selected colors, dealt with various vendor issues, answered all our dumb questions along the way, and helped us solve ALL the little design challenges that came up on the project (e.g., what kind of schluter tile edge to use, what to do about a protruding pipe that we couldn't hide, countless other questions). Meghan was extremely responsive on email so we were able to move quickly to solve all these issues that came up during construction. Another thing that I loved about working with Meghan was the thoughtful way in which she challenged our design choices, which were admittedly trendy (e.g., blue island that you'll see on this website). Meghan pushed us towards elements in our design that would be more durable, were more classic, and were of higher quality. She delivered this feedback in an approachable way that ultimately convinced us to see her point of view. Though we are still waiting on our range, the project is mostly complete and we could not be more happy with the final result. It really went above and beyond our expectations and we really enjoy spending every minute in our new space. If you're able to get time with Meghan for your project, you will not regret it.

Meghan Adkins of Sky City Design + Color has been gradually, artistically transforming our home from a run-of-the-mill 1970’s ranch house into a stylistically coordinated, fun and functional place for our family to enjoy our times together. We love seeing and feeling her tasteful influence at every turn as we enjoy our days in our new Sky City designed environment. From the two completely refurbished bathrooms to the newly opened vaulted ceilings with lovely, exposed beams, to the perfectly blending range of wall colors. Meghan’s touches are enhancing our fun, social, interactive lifestyle. Meghan is also a delight to work with. We have rarely encountered a designer who is as interested in getting to know our tastes and lifestyle and who has the expertise to come up with the best solutions accordingly as she is. She asked many questions about our needs, plans, hopes, and desires before beginning, and has continued to stay in communication with us as we implement her ideas, about how the improvements are serving us. As a landscape designer/contractor myself, I am so happy to know such an excellent interior designer as Meghan Adkins that I can refer my landscape clients to when they want to make over their interior spaces as well.

Meghan was a delight to work with. She gave us so much more than we had hoped for. It was a process through which she was patient, attuned to what we were trying to create and was able to help us identify the colors we truly wanted that would match the "experience" we were looking for. She also educated as to the function of color, what colors enhance our furniture and gave us exquisite suggestions on how to decorate our rooms to bring out the best features of our home... what a plus!! she stayed in communication with us throughout which was comforting during what can be a nerve wracking experience :) thanks for everything Meghan! We are so happy that we chose Meghan Adkins of Sky City Design + Color for our living room and dining room remodeling project in early 2020, which, except for the initial and one follow-up consulting session, was done almost entirely via online and mobile channels because of COVID-19. There were additional challenges that our project presented: over the years, we had collected many pieces that did not fit well together, we filled the space with clutter, and my husband and I could never agree on an interior design direction. The house has Spanish design features throughout and the furniture in those rooms were a mix of English regency, contemporary and 20th century Chinese! Meghan was highly efficient and on-target in arriving at a design direction and strategy for our remodel. She listened to our design goals and objectives and examined everything in those 2 rooms, making observations about each piece. She recommended moving a large modern, stylistic dragon painting to another wall in the dining area and making it the focal point, viewable from both rooms; and she used the painting to form the basis for the entire space’s color palette Meghan’s online shopping options for accent chairs, sofas, rugs, cushion fabric and more always included choices that we would never have considered on our own. She has a talent for bringing together disparate styles, unusual fabrics, colors and textures to create a unique and inviting place. Her recommended repositioning of the large furniture pieces into a very different configuration, created a cohesive, living space that flowed seamlessly from one to the other. Most importantly, when one of her recommendations was to find a different location for a favorite silk rug, her rationalization was objective and convincing and we realized later, was exactly right! Now, a little more than a year later, we have engaged her on color consulting and refurbishing of residential rental properties. She is, unequivocally, our first choice for interior design services and color consulting!

Meghan did a superb job guiding a lost soul (yours truly) through the journey of getting his apartment up to snuff. Very responsive and hard working.

Meghan was an absolute pleasure to work with — from the moment she first walked into our home, she exuded excitement and empathy. She’s not afraid to roll up her sleeves both in terms of finding the right pieces and in terms of installation and project management. Our shelter in place has been significantly improved due to Meghan transforming our living space.

Just had a great experience working remotely with Meghan at Sky City to come up with plans for refreshing our porch and deck, our kitchen and our laundry room. I sent her photos, measurements and my wish list, and she came up with beautiful solutions for all of the spaces. The new countertop in the kitchen alone is to die for. She worked quickly and was right on the mark with the choices she offered. She was a real pleasure to work with, and it was all done online or on the phone. We are super happy we found her.

Meghan advised me on the selection of colors for both the interior and exterior of our house. I experienced her as a very good listener who was able to quickly understand who I am and what I was trying to achieve and express through these remodeling projects. The truth is that I enjoyed walking the site, exchanging ideas, and exploring options. The repainting of the interior starts this fall, though the exterior portion has just been completed.
