Frankie and staff at Square Footage Inc. did a fantastic job on our newly renovated kitchen. This listened to the wish list and were remarkably attentive to details. I love working in this new space. It exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend them!

We noticed the Square Footage Inc van outside our condo building. We found out that they did 2 renovations in our building and we were able to see their work in person. From talking to their previous clients, we realized that Frankie & John and their team was who we wanted to do our renovations. Frankie listened to our ideas and gave us suggestions. Working with Square Footage was very easy. We started our renovation a month before the COVID shut down... and Square Footage was there all the way to make sure we would be able to move back into our unit even if the work wasn't 100% completed. They were able to get the contractors to come in and hook up the water and appliances so that we had a livable space. Once COVID restrictions were lifted and suppliers were open again, Square Footage made sure that they got back to our place to finish up the final renos that were outstanding. We highly recommend using Square Footage Inc for your renovations!

John, Frankie & Laura were great to work with and we are very pleased with how our project turned out! Our project involved a kitchen renovation, moving a stairwell, redoing a number of bathrooms and a few odds and ends as well. Their communication through the process was excellent and their team is very knowledgable. A special shout out to Steve & Bob who were our onsite contacts and did great work. The project finished ahead of schedule - a rarity in projects like these. We were really happy with the designs they came back with and in the end it turned out amazing. The designs Laura & Frankie put together were functional, look great and incorporated the things we were looking for. We get lots of compliments from guests on how it both feels 'homey' but also comfortable and trendy. Pictures of the kitchen and bathrooms were also submitted and won a number of design awards, which I think is pretty impressive and speaks to the design work. We would highly recommend Square Footage!

This is our second project with Square Footage. Again, they did not disappoint. Our dark and dated bathroom is now light and so much more usable Laura and Frankie were on hand to quickly address any changes that I raised. A special nod to Bob and Steven who attended to the last hiccup in our project. All in all, a very professional team!

We chose Square Footage to renovate a dated suburban kitchen and family room. The scope of the project was large including wall removal, enlarging windows and doors and making an awkward footprint workable. Frankie and Laura created a wonderful kitchen design that exceeded our expectations and really added to the value of our home. They created a timeline and budget and choose high quality finishes and products that maximized the value of our budget and met all of our needs. The carpentry crew were courteous, tremendously skilled and hard working which contributed to the success of our renovation. We are so pleased with this renovation that we proudly show it off. Quite often while having a glass of wine at the central island, we look around and grin as it truly is a beautiful space.

Square footage used the existing space and designed an efficient kitchen plan with ample storage space. The finishes they chose are timeless and beautiful. The renovation was on time and on budget. Now every morning we have our coffee in a clutter free, organized, fresh, beautiful space. A great way to start each day!

Frankie and her team at Square Footage Inc. transformed our L-shaped bathroom into a highly useable and functional space. Her solution was ingenious. It now has the oversized shower we always wanted, with clean and modern lines. Her team was polite and considerate - truly professional. Right from the beginning, the consultation process was excellent. Frankie listened carefully and came back with several creative designs. Redoing our kitchen was the last major renovation left in our house. After a very disappointing meeting with another kitchen company I contacted Square Footage Inc. I liked their pictures on Houzz and the fact that they do everything from start to finish. My kitchen is small so I thought not much could be changed about the layout and design of it. Boy, was I wrong, Frankie and Laura came up with an amazing floor plan that totally changed the feel of my kitchen. The finishes were unique and fit very well with the overall feel of my house. Let's be honest, a kitchen renovation is no fun. But John and the guys made it as painless as possible. They are always available (as well as Frankie and Laura) during the process to answer questions and address your concerns. I liked the fact that they had a regular schedule and didn't work on weekends. The job was finished on time and on budget. I ended up with a unique and beautiful and of course well functioning kitchen. We are in the process of down seizing and I think the fact that Square Footage Inc. will be handling the renovation of our new house as well speaks for it self.

Spent over $220,000 for kitchen and main floor, plus ensuite renovation. When we visited the project site, floor installers were using sharpies to try and cover up their cutting imperfections on the hardwood floor installation. We spent over $3000 on the kitchen lighting, and we were told after the fact that they would not supply light bulbs. We purchased the light bulbs their electrician advised us to. That then led to the short circuiting of the oven and flickering of the lights. It took over 6 months and multiple visits to rectify. We were advised of warranties and that all work was guaranteed, yet we needed a stovetop removed by electrician to fix a counter stone separation in the kitchen, and they are wanting to charge us $200. The electrician was here for 15 minutes. We didnt make payment. John sent an email threatening collections. For $200, when we spent over $220,000! Bathroom tile grout lines went black after use. Asked to redo as it was a bad job. Squarefootage said to add new layer. Issue still not fixed. John was never on site as the general contractor. Not a good way to do business.

After saving many many photos from Houzz, we were happy to find that many of our favourite projects were actually completed by a company right here in Durham region. I’m delighted to post these comments, in hopes that it helps other people find a similar experience. We really appreciate the full service business model from Square Footage. Laura was exceptionally patient and very creative in designing the new kitchen space in a configuration we could never have imagined on our own. We removed one wall, opened up another and generally reconfigured most of the main floor. Beyond the actual layout, the “jewellery” of the kitchen (backsplash, hardware, lights) continues to make me smile every time I walk in. Laura was working with our existing floors and some pendant lights that we’ve gotten ourselves attached to — she offered up a colour scheme, materials, and sourced various bits and pieces in a way that beautifully complemented what we already had while also introducing us to new ideas. We love love LOVE the aesthetics of the kitchen. And the functionality? Wow. The wall to wall pantry and roll out drawers are an organizational haven. Laura even found a way to make a little toy box bench under the window! Such attention to detail was characteristic of our entire design experience. The same attention to detail carried over into the construction experience. John noticed little spaces in cupboards that I didn’t even see (old house = slanty ceilings). All those details were managed, lights were recentred, and extra layers of paint were added without us even asking. The only surprise we had was a problem with our roof trusses. This was something that the team couldn’t have known about until the ceiling was opened up. And it was something that was reasonably out of scope for the project. But John was able to get someone to fix the trusses by the next day - for a very reasonable cost - and the renovation was able to stay on schedule. I was so thankful for all of John’s connections. What a relief it was to have someone else organize the “trades day”, bringing all the trades in on one day to organize the quotes. And John was able to locate an engineer when we needed a consult. Without fail, every trades person that came through our house was polite, friendly, focused, and very professional. Square Footage made this the most pleasant renovation experience possible. And we love love love the result. Having done some price comparisons —- Square Footage was coming in at about the same price point as other quotes we received. But the result and the experience were far beyond what we have heard from friends and family that worked with other companies. We have a unique, beautiful, exceptionally functional kitchen that is customized to us and makes us happy every day. This company is a delight to work with. We are so glad we chose Square Footage!

We have been living in our new place for several months now and love it!! Glad that we chose square footage to do our reno. We live in a condo and there are more rules involved in terms of renovation in a condo building. John communicated directly with our building management office to make sure everything is up to the code/requirement. Love the place designed and created by Frankie. The new layout suits our lifestyle much better and makes it easy to entertain our guests. Last but not least, they provided the schedule for the renovation so we knew exactly what was going on each week, and our project was even finished ahead of the schedule. Everyone in the company is professional. A great crew to work with. Definitely would recommend them to anyone!

I had moved back into my childhood home which had been frozen in time from the 1970s. I approached Square Footage about updating the kitchen and immediately felt comfortable with Frankie. Frankie and Laura saw the full potential of what could be done with the space and were able to modernize and make it so much more useful and inviting. What originally started as just the kitchen expanded to the rest of the main floor including the bathroom. The finishes selected and presented were beautiful. John and his team were extremely professional. Hard to believe but living through the renovation was essentially stress free. They had a schedule and were either on time or ahead of schedule throughout. Also surprisingly hardly any problems popped up during the renovation. Any issues were quickly and efficiently dealt with. I’m thrilled with the result and thoroughly enjoy coming home to my new (old) home. It’s so much better than I ever could have imagined.

I am not saying nothing went wrong but the team at Square Footage was amazing. The finished product exceeded all my expectations. When thing went wrong, let me be clear they were minor, the team responded immediately and with utmost courtesy to address the problem. I would not hesitate to hire them again. Our century home not only needed a new kitchen, it also needed to be relocated to another area in the house. The design team at Square Footage not only created a brilliant design, they also took into consideration our desire to maintain the "century home" feel as well. I wanted to change the complete footprint of our kitchen but all I saw were limitations. When Frankie presented two possible plans, my husband and I were amazed with her ideas. We chose the open concept which meant that the family room would look like the ugly cousin (Frankie's words) when the kitchen was complete. It made sense because of the way the main floor was laid out that we have Square Footage continue throughout. I quickly felt confident with every choice that Frankie and Laura made. I basically said yes to everything they chose. I was kept up to date on each stage of the renovation. The people that they sent into my home to work were professional and friendly. I STILL CAN NOT BELIEVE I LIVE IN THIS HOUSE!!!

Really good team of designer and contractor. They listened to what we wanted and designed a great space on paper. During the construction process, they were always available to answer questions and let us know how things were going. The end result was beautiful and stayed on budget. Amazing transformation! On time and on Budget! We recently moved into a new, very dated home. Our renovation budget was quite limited for the scope of work we needed to complete in order to improve the funtion and update the design of our home. We called Frankie, who visited our home, listened intently to our needs and gave our project the focus and direction we could not. Her extensive experience and expertise allowed her to make recommendations on how best to use our renovation funds. Through impeccible planning, and respect for our budgetary limits, Frankie and her team were able to transform the entrance, powder room, living room, dining room and guest bathroom. Frankie and her team designed the spaces and chose all finishes including flooring, counter tops, bathroom fixtures, lighting, tiles and paint colours. Her team of skilled trades executed the renovation on time and on budget. They were professional, hardworking and punctual. Their attention to detail is evident in the finished product. The transformation is amazing. Our house now functions and feels like our home. We love our new space!

Square Footage have, on two occasions, done renovations for us. The first time was a smaller job but the second involved re-building the entire first floor of the older home we purchased on Buckhorn Lake. We were prepared to use local contractors because of logistics but Frankie and John would not hear of it. Not only did they do a phenomenal job but worked out the traveling, etc., all within the time frame required. I firmly believe that Square Footage will do anything it takes to get the job done and done well. We would recommend Square Footage to anyone looking for an energetic, modern and conscientious company to make their home beautiful.

Square Footage completed our kitchen renovation and it was a very enjoyable process. I was speculative about spending money on a design fee when a kitchen is an expensive renovation to begin with, HOWEVER, this design fee was well worth the money. Frankie and Laura took the time to learn what I liked, my kitchen and cooking habits, and they were spot on with clear choices and advice. Frankie and Laura are very creative designers and easy to work with. John, Evan, and Stephen answered all my questions along the way and were very respectful and knowledgeable. The project was completed on schedule and everything was ready for Christmas entertaining. I really appreciate the professionalism and the ease of communication with everyone involved with our kitchen renovation project. We recently moved from our house of 45 years to an upscale, but 28 year- old condo of 2500 square feet in midtown Toronto.Square footage designed and carried out a complete, comprehensive renovation of the entire space including structural modifications, appliances, furnishings and finishing touches, such as hanging pictures, placement of art objects etc. We were delighted with the finished product and the process. The communication and responsiveness of the Square Footage staff who were cognizant of cost, timing , and our numerous questions and concerns. We would highly recommend them.

We are thrilled with our new kitchen! It still feels new 1 year later and we love it just as much. Frankie and Laura did a top notch job designing a new layout for our kitchen that makes it much more spacious and provides loads of functional storage. There is not a single thing we would change about the design and the finishing choices. John and his crew managed all the construction. The attention to detail and creative problem solving did not go unnoticed. We were thoroughly impressed with all the tradespeople brought in to work in our home. We visited a couple other showrooms before making it to the Square Footage studio where we immediately felt like they were the people we wanted to work with on our kitchen renovation. Their studio had the slightly eclectic look we were looking for, and after speaking with Frankie about her ideas and the Square Footage process, we were excited to get started. We appreciated all of Frankie and Laura's work throughout the process, but particularly getting the design just right. They had some layout ideas that we never would have considered, and they were happy to work with us on our vision. Their advice on where to look for tiles, fixtures and hardware were invaluable and enabled us to get just the right products for our space. John, Evan and Stephen were always happy to answer construction questions, and provided great advice on a number of details. We also found all of the contractors to be very professional. The end product was exactly what we had envisioned, and we're very happy we decided to work with the Square Footage team.

In May 2014, Square Footage Custom Kitchens and Bath Inc. started a kitchen renovation project for us. Frankie was our initial design contact. She was very patient with us and took the time to really understand our wishes/needs. John was in charge of construction and overseeing the project. Everything was on a laid out schedule so we knew exactly what would be happening at our house and when. Steven and Evan did most of the work in our house and were amazing. Our project went over and beyond what we initially planned on doing but that was by our choice. We ended up taking down a wall and moving a fireplace. The cost of the project was a little higher than we initially planned, but again, we ended up doing a bigger renovation than what we had planned at the beginning. My delay with submitting my review is not an indication of anything but being very very busy—and enjoying my renovation!! I am delighted with the work and expertise from Square Footage. It began with a simple review in a local newspaper and me walking into their studio/office/showroom and from my initial meeting with Frankie who simply knew and was able to communicate what the process would involve to the detail and care provided by Laura in the design stage from hours in Bathworks selecting fixtures and tile selections … I knew I had made the right choice. They made it easy to ask to extend the work from a small en suite bathroom to include installing of hardwood throughout and the detail that goes with such work. I’ve also had 5* assistance beyond the specific project—Frankie and Laura have shared their design expertise (carpet selection, painting tips, etc.) as my renovation moved from bathroom to family room. The work was done professionally by all trades people. As in all projects there are usually issues—and there was a real challenging one in my small en suite bathroom that resulted in significant delay—a tiling issue that took forever to solve—one of those issues where you lie awake at night wondering how things will turn out—however, my fears were unwarranted—Square Footage—Laura, Frankie, John and their team did everything they could to ensure the bathroom was completed—perhaps not on time—but definitely exceeding my expectations. They stood by their word to provide me with the bathroom of my dreams—I learned a lot about the renovation process through the time the Square Footage team spent with me—specifically, Laura—probably sick of all the emails—but always answered them! I highly recommend Square Footage – the expertise, the design innovations, and the personable way they connect with you. For my next renovation (which is already swirling around in my head) I will not hesitate to go back to Square Footage!

It is my pleasure to be writing this review for Square Footage Custom Kitchens & Bath Inc. I recently did a small renovation to my 17 year old kitchen. With the help from Frankie & Laura we choose new counter tops and backslash along with all new paint throughout the main floor. Everything went in without a hitch until the backslash went up. At that point we realized that it was not the look we had hoped for and looked towards Frankie for advice as it was not something we could live with. Frankie when above and beyond to rectify our tile delema by choosing a new backslash and having it installed at no cost to us. We are every happy and greatful for all that Square Footage has done and would highly recommend them.

Laura was extremely helpful in making recommendations for vanity hardware, placement as well as incorporating a complete modern design. Inquiries and feedback were provided in a timely fashion. I was impressed with Square Footage's showroom and made my vanity discovery there. I was impressed with there style and knowledge.

The scope of work for our job was a complete demolition and removal of old kitchen - walls/cabinets/appliances/flooring/electrical/gas, etc. thru to a complete rebuild - wall adjustments for more space/new cabinets/new appliances/new flooring/new HVAC/rewiring and re-alignment of gas supply. This job also included demolition and rebuild of Front Hall closet and entrace way. Our main objective was to make more space without encroaching on other living areas in the home and make the kitchen more functional by providing larger workspaces and more storage. We approached Square Footage early in 2013 with our challenge; they were eager to take it on. Their approach is team driven and follows a specific method that starts with understanding your requirements (including budget) which results in a design and a detailed project plan. Execution of the design is performed a highly skilled Construction Team completely managed by Square Footage. Closure of the project is also part of the process where Square Footage ensures you understand care and maintenace of new product and is quick to answer any post-construction questions. When developing the design their Team is innovative, having extensive access to product, resources and other suppliers making your design unique and specific to your needs and budget. Being a client of Square Footage also gives you access to their discounts with other suppliers - for us, kitchen appliances. During execution of the design, each week's activities are laid out in a plan that is posted and provided to you in your project binder. You know every day what is happening - and it actually does happen! The Construction Team comes on time, is there every night to show you what's been done, what went well and what didn't go so well and how they will recover. No Reno is without challenge. What differentiates one Reno Company from another is how it is handled. With other companies we've dealt with in the past or, if we were managing this ourselves, this glitch would have set us back weeks and would have had significant financial consequences. Square Footage dropped everything and within 1 wk the project was back on track - with absolutely no impact to us. The project lasted a total of 12 wks. The total cost of the project was high but reasonable for the level of service and commitment provided; this project was 100% managed and completed by Square Footage and included all new appliances. For a busy, professional family with little time, this level of service and commitment is invaluable. One last special comment: Each house has a wall where you chart the growth of your kids. For us, that was a wall in our kitchen. At the outset of the project I asked if we could preserve this piece of wall. I was told there was no way it could be salvaged. This was 8 yrs worth of charting growth. On the last day of the project, I found in my living room that piece of wall - framed in Walnut! When hiring Square Footage you will not only benefit from their talent, innovation and skill but you will have also met some terrific people! We would go back to Square Footage in a heartbeat.

Upon meeting with Frankie Castro to discuss my kitchen reno project, I quickly became convinced that her style, professionalism and customer service attitude would fit my requirements. Our kitchen design team was Square Footage. They helped us come up with a design for our kitchen renovation. They took care of the demolition of the space and the installation of all the new products. We had our entire main floor renovated completely, which included an entirely new kitchen, new powder room and new hardwood throughout. The entire team at Square Footage was very professional and well-informed. They kept us very well informed every step of the way - what we could expect to be done every week and how much it would cost us. We felt that we could always ask questions and voice any concerns we had as the project unfolded. We love the design of our new space and are very grateful for all the work that Square Footage did for us. They made the process as pain-free as possible. We had a major kitchen renovation – demolition of an existing kitchen and separate dining room, removing two load-bearing walls and replacing them with pocket beams and column. New floors, cabinetry, electrical, plumbing counters and appliance installation. The design process provided a space that is very functional and reflects our taste. The construction plan was well documented and perfectly executed. We are extremely happy with the result and would highly recommend Square Footage.

We were so pleased with our new kitchen we called Frankie when we decided to renovate our master bath.
