We had an urinal removed from our bathroom and had several pipes exposed on the corian surface that was covering the wall. We went to The countertop store to get new material and have it installed. We chose some quartz that closely matched and agreed to a longer than normal wait for the material. I called a couple of times to get an eta, and they were apologetic but I understood. The material finally arrived and we were happy it was finally being fabricated. It had been about 2 months.we had the wall demo’d and Ready for the new material. They arrived with the material to install...about 3 weeks later. Oh, they said. They needed to build a frame for the material to go on and they took the brand new quartz and set it against the house outside. Two months later, I called to find out what was going on. I was pretty upset by that time. I had paid them $1000 for deposit which was more than I had to pay. When I called them, instead of being conciliatory, the person on the phone was rude and claimed *I* was rude and she didn’t have to take it. I admit that I was angry and blunt, however no untoward words came out of my mouth. A week later, they finally came back to do the work, but forgot the trim. Another week passed and they came back and finished. They wanted a check for the balance right then. I gave it to them and was happy to see their taillights. 3 weeks later I got a phone call. They wanted payment for the balance. I was not nice. I was flabbergasted to say the least.

I am surprised they are still in business. I bought a piece of marble from them approximately five years ago for my bathroom countertop. It was several weeks before they could get it installed. After installation,the subcontractors they hired to do the installation asked me at my home for final payment. I told them I would pay The Countertop Store direct. After inspection, I noticed the backsplash was cracked. I contacted the store and informed them the subcontrators they hired broke the marble. I asked for another backsplash to be cut and installed. After several conversations and them sending someone to my home, I was finally told the backsplash broke when they were cutting it and they gave it to the subcontractors in two pieces, that the subcontractors did not break it, and that they were unable to cut another backsplash from this marble without it breaking. I feel I should have been contacted prior to installation and informed of the issues they were having with the marble.

After being told it would take 3-4 weeks for the material to be delivered and two days to install, it actually took a total of 4 months from the time we ordered the countertop to the time the job was completed with workers at our house for a total of 10 days. Six weeks after the order was placed, the work was begun. In removing the old countertop, our cabinet was damaged in several different places. The facing of one cabinet was loosened, a support bracket was completely torn off, a strip of wood was cracked in two places at the sink area, and the drywall was punched in on two places. A section of the silestone was chipped, and the joint between the two sections of the silestone countertop was so unevenly matched and had so large a gap that one of the sections had to be removed, recut, and reset. Three rows of backsplash tile were cut uneven, and there was a large gap between the countertop and the wall. This was a nightmare of a project!
