Major props to Tom Detty and The Kitchen Place! My wife and I put all options on the table for solving what we didn't like about our old kitchen. It was heavy on the oak cabinetry. The layout was poor with the refrigerator directly across from the stove with only 2 ½ feet between them. Many drawers and shelves were warped and not working. We went several places looking for input on the best way to design the kitchen. Every other place just took out ideas and made renderings. Tom did a great job with design and layout. He took our ideas but incorporated some of his own. Several things about which we worried, he correctly said were non-issues. Several things we didn’t consider were areas where his expertise was of great value. On top of it all Steve and Josh on the install were incredible. They were professional and thoughtful. Their work ethic and efficiency were only outdone by their craftsmanship and attention to detail. They were worth every penny of the cost of professional installation. We went with Shiloh Cabinetry with beaded inset. Tom’s team did all the install of the cabinets and in cabinet lighting. One thing we appreciated greatly was that Tom allowed us to source parts of the project from other vendors/suppliers. This allowed us to make the space just right for our taste without the burden of a restrictive contract. Steve and Josh finished off the install with hardware sourced from Rejuvenation at a steep discount from Semihandmade. They also installed our KitchAid appliances and sink and faucet from Kraus. We decided to line up our countertop from the Stone Center of Dayton where we found wonderful Brazilian quartzite that is like having a piece of artwork on prominent display. We chose MSI Everlife Cyrus Fauna LVT for the flooring. We installed in ourselves (much thanks to my father-in-law Shelton for help with cuts and install). I did the backsplash with Splendours subway tile from Spain. Our lighting is from Foundry Lighting and was installed by a friend of mine who also got rid of our track lighting for wafer lights. Finally, Tom did a great job designing things to tie the living space into the kitchen. We were able to put finishing touches on the space with a new couch from Elm & Iron, chairs from West Elm, out coffee table from Arhaus and rugs from the Rug Collective. All in all we are more than thrilled with how it all turned out. Thank you to The Kitchen Place.

I loved working with Kelly. I came in with ideas and she transformed them into the most beautiful kitchen space I could have imagined. My dream kitchen is a reality! I've cooked in my kitchen for 3 months now and I can honestly say I wouldn't change a single thing! I had a rough plan in my head and Kelly and I worked out all the details. She listened to and worked with me. Steve and Josh did the demolition of the old kitchen and built the new one. They are exceptional carpenters and Josh is a great electrician. What I most appreciated was they thought several steps ahead of their current work and asked questions and made suggestions to make the most of the design. Bob, the plumber, did almost the impossible and moved water lines to accommodate the design. I can't say enough good things about the team! Timely and brought in on budget!

Kelly, at The Kitchen Place in Xenia, Ohio, helped us transform our original 60's kitchen to a more modern galley kitchen while maintaining the rustic look we desired. Kelly was instrumental and patient in listening to our ideas and guiding us with her comments from the kitchen layout to all the extras we wanted to make the kitchen more functional and efficient. We knew we wanted rustic hickory cabinets and Kelly helped us choose the Cambria countertops, travertine backsplash, farm style kitchen sink, lighting and luxury vinyl flooring to match our concept. We also chose stainless steel appliances to compliment the final look. The Kitchen Place has wonderful contractors performing the various stages of remodeling and they were all very professional, nice, and timely in completing the job. We were given a demolition and construction timeline and the remodeling was completed in the time quoted. We had such a positive experience with the Kitchen Place and would recommend their services to anyone interested in a new look for their kitchen.

Kelly's design sense and product knowledge is top notch. We purchased an Historic home and we had serious reservations about removing a wall to extend the kitchen. Kelly was able to alleviate our concerns and make the kitchen look like the wall had never been. This is the second kitchen project I've done with Kelly and both turned out spectacular.

Rarely have I dealt with professionals of this category. The work, to include attention to detail was outstanding. We used Kelly to remodel the kitchen in the house we had just bought. Kelly is amazing to work with. She had great ideas, and listened to mine. She was easy to communicate with, letting me know what works and doesn't work as well from her experience. I love the cabinet for my foot stool, the toe-kick drawers, and the air switch for my sprayer hose. Her patience was wonderful, helping me decide on size of drawers and cabinets, the placement of drawers, and advantages of drawers versus cabinets. I am so glad I chose so many drawers,as they make it easy to access the dishes and pots and pans. Kelly helped from beginning to end, and had great follow-up. We selected Kelly to design and assist with our kitchen remodel because we liked her previous work and her experience with older homes. We did the demo ourselves and oversaw the infrastructure work, and Kelly was very patient with our progress (or lack thereof). Kelly was also very patient with us as we decided how we wanted to change our space, and she provided great suggestions, such as moving our fridge to another wall. Kelly worked closely with her installers and we had no issues. We read in online forums about common kitchen remodeling problems (missing parts, cabinet problems, and countertop issues), but we didn't experience any complications. Her attention to detail prevented any issues and are very happy with the outcome.

Delighted with the design and construction work provided for my major kitchen renovation in 2015! Walked into their office with a vague idea of what I wanted to do -- but Kelly was much more interested in learning about how I planned to use my new space. She did a detailed interview, including scoping out the project budget. Before providing the design I asked for, she first offered me something else. She came up with the most spectacular design - a rather substantial renovation, taking out walls and putting in a huge (11') island, perfect for entertaining! I was a little nervous, but loved what she'd come up with for my new kitchen. The installers were first class professionals! From tearing out walls, removing tile flooring, leveling underlayment, to plumbing, electrical, gas, flooring and cabinet installation, they worked efficiently and effectively to complete a complex, multi-week kitchen renovation. On time, reliable, and exceptionally skilled, I can't recommend this crew highly enough! Kelly was involved from design to completion, assisting with appliance selection and design of the perfect backsplash (incorporating a tile I'd had for several years). She was professional, available and responsive to my questions and concerns. It is without reservation that I recommend The Kitchen Place! I am planning to do a major renovation of my master bathroom in a few years, and they will be my first call!

We are completely satisfied with The Kitchen Place, especially our contact Justin. He has helped us every step of the way from our showing him our original rough sketch through replacing a slightly blemished cabinet door. We had some very specific ideas, she incorporated those into our design. She had ideas of her own to improve upon our design. The Kitchen Place provided the cabinets for our kitchen remodel. With the expertise of Kelly Zamonski, all aspects of the remodel were considered. She directed us towards certain vendors depending upon the type of cabinets offered as well as the type of cabinets that would complement a home built in 1920. We chose "Plain and Fancy" with inset doors and visible hardware. This style mimicked many of our antiques but with a "white dove" colour established a clean, light and airy space. Kelly was meticulous not only with her drawings of the cabinets but also the measurements that were so important for the vendor. She is a "Master" of detail. Kelly chose two or three hardware options that were perfect with the cabinets. She also offered tips about the counters that were bought elsewhere. She directed me to Osborne Wood Products which manufactures legs and skirting to provide a 30"X 72" table in the middle of our kitchen. It is the center "jewel" of the kitchen. I would highly recommend the services that are provided by Kelly Zamonski as well as the services of The Kitchen Place. rkp

We used Kelly at The Kitchen Place for our cabinets and counters in our basement bar area. Kelly was very helpful throughout the whole process. She was very responsive to questions and concerns, emails were almost always answered the same day. There was a slight mix-up when we selected a discontinued counter material, but it was resolved quickly and professionally. We've recommended Kelly to several family and friends who have also been equally satisfied.

Great designers. Provided me ideas for a complete remodel and cost estimate. While I have not yet completed the project, the information provided by The Kitchen Place has been helpful in setting budgeting and savings goals.

Our project was a kitchen remodel - transitioning from an early 90's design to 2013 standards. We worked with Kelly, who was fantastic to work with! Initially we spoke to her over the phone and she suggested a few things to bring with us when we would meet. At our first meeting we were pleased with the selection of materials at the Kitchen Place and the design expertise of Kelly. Within 4 hours of our meeting Kelly emailed us a 3D rendering of our new kitchen - and we were blown away! We loved her ideas & concepts! Through the project Kelly made several great suggestions that we would not have thought of without her design expertise; such as: A. When replacing our cherry cabinet island, she suggested white cabinetry instead - a more modern look and we couldn't be more pleased! B. We replaced an over/under microwave- oven combination with a double convection oven. This created a problem of what to do with the microwave. Kelly's solution was awesome - an under counter microwave in the island - saving a lot of space by not having to put the microwave on the counter - we love it! C. As part of our remodel we installed a garbage disposal. Since the majority of this project was a DIY, installing a garbage disposal meant running wiring for a switch in the wall behind the sink to operate the disposal - doable, yet a time consuming task. Kelly suggested installing an air switch - what a great invention! Easy to install and visually appealing. Again, a design idea that we would not have known about without Kelly. Overall, we have been pleased with Kelly & The Kitchen Place! We would highly recommend them to friends. We are loving our new kitchen and we get many compliments from our friends & guests when they see it!

Approximate project date is January 2014. Kelly assisted in the design of my breakfast room hutch, provided suggestions, and is knowledgeable with the products I desire. She went above and beyond in obtaining the finished design ensuring all aspects were correct. I know she will follow through to the completion of the project as she did with my kitchen project in 2011.

We hired Kelly from the Kitchen Place for our daughter's jack and jill bathroom and also for our cubby by the entry door. Kelly was very helpful. Our remodel included much more than the kitchen. It included new floors in multiple areas including main entry, garage entry and half bath. Our tile guy, Steve was awesome. I'm sure glad we didn't try to do it ourselves. We now have a beautiful kitchen, warm main entry and gorgeous half-bath off the garage entry. Our entire project took 4 months, a little longer than we hoped, but, we are extremely pleased with the outcome. Kelly, Tom, and both Steves were great. The workmanship was second to none. The prices were reasonable and I felt they were very honest. Our biggest challenge was in communication. Thank goodness for lots of emails.

The Kitchen Project ReviewWe recently completed a significant (to the wall studs and slab floor) kitchen renovation using The Kitchen Place, Xenia, Ohio, as the general for the project. The project presented several challenging circumstances, including the use of flush inset SubZero/Wolf appliances and Plain & Fancy custom cabinetry in beaded inset, that required precise measurements and installation techniques. The Kitchen Place and all of its subcontractors excelled in each and every aspect of the project. That is not to say that there were not glitches along the way; given the complexity and unique aspects of the project, glitches were to be expected. The important thing, however, is that each one was handled to our full satisfaction. Everyone stayed calm and collected and demonstrated a high level of professionalism. We could not be more pleased with the end results -- the final touch on our home renovation, our new kitchen offers an open landscape with exquisite walnut custom cabinetry and appointments that compliment the rest of our home. TKP did my kitchen remodel. Professional, well-connected, and supportive throughout the process. Had some problems getting the countertop install done, no fault of The Kitchen Place, and the constant updates and support got us through some really tough times! We chose The Kitchen Place for the kitchen design in our new construction. Kelly, the kitchen designer at The Kitchen Place, was very knowledgeable about both the various cabinet brands and about design features. She suggested several features to us that we had not thought of. We incorporated those features into our kitchen design and are very happy that we did. Kelly was patient with us as we changed our minds and struggled over ‘tough‘ decisions. She also spent a lot of time helping our daughter decide on a vanity and countertop for her bathroom. I had a very good experience with this company. I wanted a partial kitchen remodel, a new peninsula with a slide-in range and all new countertops for the whole kitchen. I have a craftsman style home with early 20th century straight grain pine wall and base cabinets which I was trying to match. I had gotten estimates from 2 other companies in the area. The first company's quote came in too high, and since they didn't itemize their expenses, we decided to look elsewhere. The second company gave me some good ideas to consider, but in the end they couldn't match the cabinets closely enough. When I went to the Kitchen Place, Kelly worked with me to find a good match for a more reasonable price. We paid extra for a custom matched stain, & I'm glad we did because the first sample door was awful! She helped me order the range I wanted for a good price. She itemized each piece of the order for labor and materials, so we could decide what parts were essential & which we could do ourselves or do without. Her installers were efficient & careful. They failed to put cover plates on the electrical outlets they installed, which is a safety issue, especially the one in the floor to plug in the new range. The only other issue was that once she missed a phone message. On the whole I felt communication was good, especially by email. The first foto shows the old stove to be removed. The rest show the new peninsula. I was happy with the remodel, and I used this company again for a new bath vanity and top, which was a custom order. I was also very happy with that order.

We hired Kelly Zamonski of The Kitchen Place to completely gut our kitchen in our 90 year old house. We wanted to keep the new design vintage, with the character of the old house. We worked on the layout and design ahead of time, with Kelly spending a great deal of time researching our many choice combinations. She had many original ideas that we loved and understood the look that we wanted. She was very patient with our many questions, making us feel comforted every step of the way. She gave us the details that she knew we needed, knowing that we were detail-oriented customers. She gave design advice for the function, as well as the aesthetics. We truly got our vintage, original-looking kitchen. It has very high-quality materials, craftsmanship, and design. We decided to use her sub-contractors, since they have worked togethers for many years and work well as a team. They also give the highest quality of work, and knowing that this was the only time that we would be doing this kind of project, we wanted perfection. We would highly recommend The Kitchen Place to anyone. Many friends, who have come to see our kitchen, are amazed at the transformation. One has recently gone to The Kitchen Place and ordered cabinets, because they were so impressed. We live in a neighborhood of old homes, where many are looking to remodel their kitchen, and I will definitely suggest they take a look at our kitchen and consider The Kitchen Place.
