Kelly Hendricks helped us transform our 1973 depressing, poorly-functioning kitchen into a beautiful, open, functional space that includes the living and dining rooms as well as the kitchen. It involved removing a wall and all the old cabinetry and replacing them with an island and all new custom cupboards. We couldn’t have done it without her expertise and creativity. She quickly honed in on our style preferences and did a lot of hand-holding as we picked new materials. She worked efficiently with our contractors and knows many vendors in town. Her knowledge extends beyond design, to the trades such as electrical and plumbing. She followed up on every detail to make sure it was absolutely perfect. We highly recommend her!

I came across Kelly at UNIQ Kitchen and Bath Designs while searching for an independent kitchen designer for a kitchen remodel I was planning. I interviewed multiple design/remodel companies who had their own internal design team as well as other independent designers and went with Kelly for her experience and services offered. We really wanted a kitchen that worked best for our needs, maximized every square inch of space and fit our design esthetic and we felt that going with an independent designer would deliver this and it absolutely did and then some. We are SO happy with how our kitchen turned it, it is truly our dream kitchen both in how it looks and how it functions. Kelly had awesome ideas that we would not have thought of on our own (fabulous coffee nook in a little previously awkward corner, wine storage and bar area under our stairs!) and gently guided us to including some items we were initially resistant to but have since been so happy to have (second small bar-so handy for washing hands, small beverage fridge to get all those sparkling waters and beverages out of the main fridge and hanging pendant lights in the powder bathroom, love them!). We could not be happier with the results and would not hesitate to recommend Kelly to anyone looking for an experienced designer for their project.

Kelly is wonderful, a true professional. We spent a good amount of time fine tuning my ideas and budgets and then with her guidance my project is a huge success. All I can say about Kelly is she is amazing!! We bought a 4,500 sq ft concrete home in Ramona that was unfinished by the previous owner and in rough shape, BUT we got it at a great price and had great plans for what we wanted to do with it. She helped me confirm my design elements and guide me through building a master bathroom with a wet room, a large open concept kitchen with limited design options, three guest bathrooms, beverage bar and butler pantry. She was so helpful - I wouldn’t have been able to do it without her. She kept me focused and staying on theme with my modern farmhouse. Not only does she know design but also understands the construction elements for installation. Once we were stuck on how to solve a particular issue and she came up with a brilliant idea that was easy, inexpensive, and the contractor was impressed. I love that she can talk with me (the client) and communicate with the contractor in ways we each understand. She made sure I got what I wanted.

Kelly designed a whole house remodel for us and we now have a home more beautiful than either of us ever imagined. We could not have completed this extensive job without Kelly. We worked together for well over a year, and Kelly's expertise and experience were invaluable to us. Her attention to every little detail shows in each stunning room. I can’t even begin to express how fortunate we were to find Kelly. From her very first visit to our home 7 months ago she impressed both my husband and I. Even though we met with a couple of other designers, there was no contest whom we would choose to help us with our kitchen design. We are now at the end of the project and have lost none of that enthusiasm. She’s creative, detailed, friendly, supportive, and most definitely in her client’s corner when an issue arises. As part of the process, she created 3 different ideas for the layout. Once we chose, she drew and re-drew while refining the details with us. She made our ideas work, pointing out problems, while making suggestions that were feasible. At no point did we ever feel like she’d taken over. Once the plan was laid out in detail we were able to shop it out, with her making suggestions of who she trusted. When there were things to shop for (tiles, drawer pulls, etc.) she came with us. She was there for every step of construction, too, making certain the job was done to our specifications, and done correctly. All of the different contractors made mention of the fact that when they had Kelly’s drawings they knew they could count on them to be accurate. (That’s quite a compliment in a male dominated field!) As she was leaving for the last time today, all I could think was what project can we do with her next?

We hired Kelly to help us design our dream kitchen. She was great to work with and helped us each step along the way. Honestly, she came up with ideas and plans that we would never have thought of on our own. She is very knowledgeable and meticulous about every aspect of the work to be done. Her suggestions were always spot on. The project ended up not only being a completely new kitchen, but we updated/upgraded many other aspects of our house. We would highly recommend her.

Kelly Hendricks is a wonderful designer. She remodeled my whole kitchen and I am completely thrilled with it. She listened to my ideas and offered some very helpful input, ideas and advice. She knows her stuff and has a very good working rapport with the contractors she recommended, all of with only one exception, went above and beyond what was expected. We did find someone to replace the original cabinet installer, with whom we were not happy with. She immediately found us a new cabinet installer with whom was a better fit for us. We were much happier with our second choice. It all worked out and happened for a reason, I’d say! Kelly is particular , thorough and has an exceptional eye for detail. All traits one is looking for in a designer. She is patient and listens. Again, essential n a good designer. She kept my costs down, too! I’ve heard of the scare stories resulting from a kitchen remodel but Kelly had us mentally prepared and all in all it wasn’t an unpleasant journey at all. I’m very pleased with my new kitchen. The expected inconveniences of not having a kitchen for about 8 weeks was well worth the wait! Thank you Kelly!!
