After seeing Grothouse Lumber's work on 'This Old House", I knew when we renovated our kitchen we would include one of their butcher blocks in our design. We chose end-grain cherry with sapwood, with a simple 3/8" chamfer edge for our island. We couldn't be more pleased with the results, their material quality and workmanship are superb. We enjoy having the butcher block as the centerpiece of the kitchen, though it's by no means a showpiece, we put it to use everyday as our primary cutting surface.

The Grothouse Lumber Company is the best out of town find. They never tire of answering endless questions. I am amazed at all of the creative applications they can come up with. Their new live edge section is so incredibly interesting and new. Nobody surpasses this company in every aspect of design.
