One way to avoid the mystery about how your tops will come out is to purchase a slab layout. This allows you to view your entire project beforehand, so you can request any feasible changes prior to actually cutting the stone. This gives the customer the opportunity to understand why it has to be laid out like it is, or choose another slab that does not contain the anomaly that the customer wants to avoid.
I have attached a picture of the slab that you chose for your countertops. The area in question is the faded white area left of the sink. Looking at the entire slab you can see that the area is actually a long vein, or river that runs the length of the slab. In this particular case, there was no way to avoid this. The picture also shows red tape. These are areas of the slab that we deem not acceptable to be included in the top. It could be a large fissure, scratch, or factory fill that would take away from the beauty of the stone.
I know this does not solve your issue, but I hope it gives you a better understanding of why it is there. We failed to meet your expectation and I do apologize. Even with the purchase of the slab layout, we still could not have avoided this area, but at least you would have known beforehand, and could have made the decision whether or not to move forward.
Thank you again for using Hard Rock. For what its worth, I have seen the install pictures and your tops are absolutely beautiful.
