A New View for You Interiors works with homeowners planning significant renovations who want clarity around scope, budget, and execution before construction begins. Most projects I take on fall within a $50K–$250K investment range and begin with a structured planning phase. I’m Deborah “DJ” Thomas — Principal Designer and Strategic Project Advisor. My work focuses on what should happen before construction begins: sequencing decisions, identifying risks, and understanding realistic investment levels so projects don’t unravel mid-process. The Project Clarity Method™ I guide homeowners through a structured decision-first process: FirstLook™ (Initial Review) A paid evaluation where I review photos and documentation to assess feasibility, identify risks, and outline what should happen before renovation planning begins. Project Clarity Review™ (In-Depth) A deeper analysis of layout, scope, and decision sequencing to refine direction before moving into full planning or construction. This allows clients to move forward confidently — whether they continue working with me or simply want clear direction before hiring anyone. After more than 25 years in insurance and sales, I transitioned into interior design with a focus on foresight and decision-making during major home changes. With an Associate’s Degree in Interior Design and certifications in Kitchen & Bath and Green Design, I combine technical knowledge with practical experience. I love working with DJ she listens to what my ideas are what I am trying to accomplish. It makes a difference when you have a vision and you want to bring it into reality. DJ guides you let's you know what can be done you might have to tweak you idea a little because of codes but at least she tells you that before promising you something that can't be done. I will continue working with DJ because when you find someone who truly cares about your finish product and is up front with you every step of the way you just hold on to quality professionals.

Ms. Thomas provided us with a great consultation on the design of our kitchen, Bathrooms, and other parts of our whole house renovation. We started out feeling really good about the design work. Unfortunately things soured when we expressed dissatisfaction with some the installation work and requested that it be redone. Our project was scheduled to be completed in early May. While some of our requested changes extended the completion date to August, our flooring installation was badly managed and to this date has not been addressed by Ms. Thomas. The problems began with ordering the wrong wood for the stairs.. She then allowed the wrong stain to be applied, rendering the stairs unacceptable mis-marched to rest of the flowing. After several appears to remove the stain, she reordered the stairs, but mis-measured the stairs resulting in needing to order an additional set of stairs. At that point Ms. Thomas decided it was simply easier to declare that she had completed the deliverables and completed the contract. we were left needing to find someone who could properly replace and finish the stairs and left with debris in our garage. While I would like to post pictures of some of the nicer elements of the job, it's important to provide an example of the issues we have been dealing with. At this point I can't in good conscience recommend her services given her abandonment of the project.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear the initial design work for your home was well received—that foundation was an important part of the overall vision.

As is common with large-scale renovations, the scope of this project evolved over time, including additional requests and changes that extended both timeline and coordination across multiple trades and materials.

Regarding the concerns mentioned, several of the items referenced involved work performed by independent subcontractors and products that were selected and approved during the project. When challenges arose, efforts were made to address them; however, we ultimately experienced differing expectations regarding scope, responsibility, and resolution.

The project was not abandoned; it was closed in alignment with the contracted scope and terms.

At that point, the agreement was formally concluded.

I remain committed to guiding clients through complex renovations with clarity, structure, and professionalism, and I continuously refine my processes to ensure strong alignment from concept through completion.

She was the perfect choice to manage our three bathroom renovation projects. Clean courteous professional honest and efficient with an attention to detail that's second to none. My only regret is not having a forth bathroom for her to work on. Reasonable price... exceptional value!
