Art Deco Enterprises

We hired Art Deco to help with our renovation of our kitchen, bathroom, half bathroom, and more. While we took bids from several contractors we felt that Art Deco provided the most accurate and honest assessment of our project. Additionally, their design and procurement support was incredibly helpful to streamline the project. Given the scope of work and our living in a coop, they completed our project at an incredibly fast pace of just 3.5 months-- with the winter holidays right in the middle of it. We're thrilled with the quality of their work and have recommended them to friends and neighbors on our floor. It seems the workmen were also very kind to our neighbors and we were told they were diligent and on time every single day. As with any project, you do encounter unexpected challenges but we felt that Sorina and Ion approached these pragmatically and offered great solutions. Their communication throughout the process was exceptional and we are so very happy in our home now.

We found Art Deco by using an aggregator application similar to how Expedia and other travel websites work. We were matched with a few different contractors and many passed on our project. Our original scope consisted of changing our upper cabinets in our kitchen. Art Deco almost passed but after some discussion we came to a middle ground and I am glad we did. We ended up doing a gut renovation on our kitchen, some needed bathroom repair and a closet modification. This was definitely a case of scope creep but I realized shortly that they were correct and we needed a new kitchen. I have no regrets. We went to their offices, reviewed multiple design options, picked out the materials, trim and finishes. It was a fun. Sorina and Rokia in the office are really easy to work with and understand your needs. Granted I have an understanding of finishes and materials so that helped. Their designs are beautiful and efficient. Ion with his team did the demo and install. There were some dust issues, but for the most part they sealed off the areas well. I live in a 1 bedroom apartment and we have all our stuff. We did our best to clean the areas for them and they did an excellent job working around us. The quality of the work is excellent, it seems it will last a while. When their were issues, they immediately addressed them. At the end, the punch list was short and addressed quickly. Even after the project was over and final payments made, they still answer questions and have come back to adjust things that were not 100%. From past experiences contractors often do not answer or return calls or emails once the project is over. Their electricians and plumbers are excellent too. To sum up, they are: a very good team, friendly, listen, they do not try and upsell you. They are honest. If they do not agree with you they will ask you why and give their opinion. But they will do what you ask if that is what you want. I am recommending them to my friends as well.

I can't say enough great things about Ion, Sorina and the Art Deco team. We gut renovated our kitchen, redid our ceilings and primary bedrooms and the entire project took under four months. You always hear horror stories about your contractors but I would work with Art Deco a million times over, and plan to! They are the best, work within your budget, and are transparent and easy to work with - staying in constant communication every step of the way! 5 stars recommend! the work is amazing - our kitchen is gorgeous.

Words cannot express how happy I am with the results of my gut renovation to my bathroom…simply put my bathroom is STUNNING! I felt very comfortable with Sorina right from the beginning. Of course, with any such project there are bound to be surprises and setbacks, but I never doubted Ion’s team. He has a wonderful eye for space and design…and his team really impressed me with their meticulous attention to details The quality of work exceeded my expectations – FIRST CLASS craftmanship from installing tile to the floor and walls, painting, grout, molding and all the fixture placements- there isn’t one issue with anything they did…I love it all! I had an overall great experience with Art Deco and highly recommend working with them. I did a lot of research and interviews before ultimately deciding to hire Art Deco and feel very strongly that you will not find a firm with such high levels of professionalism and craftsmanship, at such reasonable relative price points. I initially hired Art Deco to gut renovate the kitchen and bathroom in my prewar studio, which hadn’t had any meaningful updates done to it in decades - they assisted on the design and procurement front, and have a very good eye for suggesting finishes and products that are quality without breaking the bank. They also steered me through what was a challenging and lengthy approval process with my very difficult coop board, and their commitment and support to getting my project over the line, despite a lot of frustration and seemingly never ending obstacles, was invaluable. I eventually had them add on a number of other projects to the scope including plaster repair and wall painting, floor refinishing, electrical work, and some custom carpentry for radiator covers. I’m extremely pleased with how everything turned out. Ion and Sorina are knowledgeable, professional, and very good at what they do - importantly, they are honest and fair, and extremely invested in doing right by their clients and getting their jobs done well. I recommend them to anyone looking to navigate the overwhelming world of home renovation, particularly in a NYC coop, and contractor selection.

Art Deco is an amazing construction and design firm that exceeded our expectations through the entire renovation process of our old, pre-war bathroom. From the get-go, Sorina and her team were extremely transparent on their plans and cost breakdown for type of work we were envisioning, and was instrumental in guiding us through the tricky co-op board approval process. While we had a general idea of what we liked and wanted aesthetically, we gave Sorina’s design team control on what would look best and be most functional. Their proposed designs were even better than anything we could have imagined. During the construction process, Ion was extremely knowledgeable and talked us through the logic on certain decisions that would improve the actual structure of the bathroom. He was very transparent and honest on things that were absolutely necessary to fix. He also was able to identify additional room in the wall adjacent to the bathroom and also build a built-in bookshelf. Overall, I cannot recommend Art Deco enough for those looking to have a full package contracting firm.

I was paired with Art Deco as part of a kitchen and bathroom renovation with Block Renovations. I was so happy with the outcome! I added on a washer/dryer, wood floor refinishing, new closets/doors, wood coverings over my Hvac and a beautiful electric fireplace. Art Deco and their team were extremely communicative and guided me with design selections along the way. They made the process very organized, and I had so much faith in their professional approach and process. The finished product and craftmanship is fantastic. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

ArtDeco has an excellent team. Ion has great insight in maximizing your space and vision. Sorina communicates efficiently and is always on top of your project needs. ArtDeco does a very clean job and does not cut corners. I have recommended them to friends!

We cannot say enough amazing things about Art Deco Enterprises and our experience! Art Deco renovated our master bathroom, built us a hallway and new door entry way from the bedroom and built us a new closet in June. The finished product has been such a dream for us in our home, and the quality and craftsmanship is just exceptional. They were a pleasure to work with as a team and kept in the timing promised. Again I cannot recommend them enough and hope if we ever have another project that we can work together.

We were paired with Art Deco through Block Renovation. We felt so blessed to be working with Ion and Sorina and their team. They are professional and very fair. They worked with us to remodel our apartment, not just to gut renovate our kitchen and bath, but to paint and re-do flooring, and install split a/c's. It was a big job. And Art Deco made sure that the process was seamless. They kept us in the loop throughout the project, provided reasonable adjustments to the plan when necessary, and ultimately, finished the job earlier than anticipated. Art Deco did a phenomenal job!

I have a tiny coop pre-war studio in UWS. It needed total reno. The floors were slopped, 80's bathroom and the tiles were all damaged. They did an amazing job. I love the result so much. The process was not painful at all. They are honest and super experienced with NYC buildings. Ion paid attention to the details and the back office followed up flawlessly. They tell you everything upfront and try to help you with every process with love like their own place. I felt they want to do it right so that I don't have to call them back after the job is done. They renovate the place to last long. Whenever I make a decision, they would tell me which cost more and less and what will be pros and cons. They've never just yes to do it for $$$. They always told me what was right for my lifestyle, the purpose of the reno, and the design. I ended up saving money on some things that I didn't need to spend and bringing that money to the part I really needed to fix. Thank you so much!!!
