“I was having issues with my dryer heating properly. A repairman determined that the issue was not the dryer itself, but possibly the outlet, based upon the significant power cord damage that was discovered. Though I am a DIYer and felt as though I could replace the outlet myself, I was concerned that it was a more serious wiring issue. (The outlet and cord were significantly worn and charred and could have possibly led to a fire over time.) I called Ray at The Home Advisor Specialists and explained the issue. He agreed to come out and take a look. He was punctual in arriving at the agreed upon time. He was very thorough and found that the issue was not the actual wiring itself, but a loose screw in the fuse box. He said that because I had the skills to replace the outlet myself, he would give me the option to repair it if I would like. He told me what I would need to purchase from the hardware store and talked me through how I would make the connections, ensuring that I was comfortable with the steps. He even suggested that I send him pictures as I made the repairs to ensure they were done correctly before reconnecting the power, which I did. To top it off, he did not even charge me for the visit, though I tried to insist he be compensated for his time. I have never experienced that level of professionalism and integrity from a repairman. I recommend him highly and without reservation.”

“A&S Home Improvements remodeled two bathrooms and installed a tile kitchen backsplash in our home. This project was flawless from start to finish. We called Eric for a quote and made an appointment to look at the work to be done. He arrived at the appointed time and immediately understood what we wanted to do. This was important because we wanted to move walls to make our master bathroom larger. Other contractors either didn’t understand or didn’t want to undertake this change, but Eric was fully onboard and made some helpful suggestions as we discussed the job. He followed up this visit by providing a very detailed proposal covering every aspect of the job. After some discussion and minor modifications we signed a contract. All of this was done very professionally with the scope of work and the terms and conditions of the contract clearly defined. Work began on the date we were told that it would and it proceeded efficiently. Drop cloths and plastic sheets were installed first to protect our floors and furnishings. Eric’s crew completed the demolition and reframing in just a couple days, and the electrician, plumber, tile main, and painters were scheduled at precisely the right time so that the job never sat without progress being made. Workmanship was completed to the highest standards. I can’t recall anything needing to be reworked except for when I told the crew to install a towel bar in the wrong place. They happily returned and relocated it even though it was my mistake. The job was completed on time and on budget. There were no additional costs except for a couple changes that we requested during the job. In those cases the costs were defined and agreed to before the work was done. We would not hesitate to call A&S Home Improvements the next time we have a remodeling project and highly recommend them.”
