Starting in 2018, we contracted with Barry to oversee the maintenance of three beautiful, old, historic buildings. He replaced custom windows and doors, coordinated plumbing and electrical issues, installed a backup generator for the premises, upgraded old gas furnaces to electrical heat pumps, repaired decks and railings, upgraded lighting, coordinated painting of the buildings, and much much more. Barry just completed a Total Kitchen Remodel for us and we found his work exceptional. Throughout the project his communications with us and subcontractors were excellent. Subcontractors were not only professionally qualified but personal and diligent in fulfilling what was needed of them. Barry did a month long project at our home in Marin, building out an art display wall and putting in new lighting though out the living room. He did an excellent job - we arrived home to the stunning new display wall with our newly delivered furniture arranged perfectly too. The craftsmanship on this project was impeccable. I am highly detailed oriented so nothing escapes my eye and on this project - it was all done to perfection. After the project was completed there were a few very minor issues with the lighting - drivers and such - and Barry and the electrician returned right away to get them fixed. We were gone the entire time the project was going on and Barry was in constant communication with my owner's representative, ensuring every detail was perfect. I'd hire him again for this kind of project and larger projects as well. I had a strong feeling of confidence the entire time I worked with Barry that I'd chosen the right contractor and the end result proved me right.

Barry took our funky 1959 bathroom and turned it into a beautiful contemporary style. Along the way he gave guidance on when and where to buy the fixtures we needed. His suggested modifications to our design were a big improvement. The design involved removing a wall and stealing some space from the adjacent room. Barry takes the same care in working on his clients’ projects as he would on his own. He has a team of well-vetted plumbers, electricians and cabinet makers that he uses. It is always a pleasure to work with Barry as he is a reliable, hard-working, creative and good-humored guy. I recommend him highly.

We were looking for a detail oriented contractor who could meet the client’s budget AND do quality work. Barry turned out to fit the bill - he would pay attention to the architect’s drawings (not all contractors do), ask good questions, and raise pertinent issues. Barry Mullis was recommended by a friend in 2011 and he has been my guiding light ever since in all aspects of remodel/repair projects major and minor on my property. Starting with the remodeling of two bathrooms he introduced me to various showrooms in the Bay Area accompanying, assisting and advising me in material selections. I have very specific taste so I was most grateful for his presence and patience in the planning process which culminated in creating two beautiful bathrooms. He further demonstrated excellent craftsman skills as plumber,electrician,carpenter,cabinetmaker,plaster/drywall installer in converting a storage area into a laundry utility room as well as installing an overhead lighting system in the large garage area. Over the years he researched and brought in resources to address terrazzo step problems, repiping needs,and window/door replacements. He skillfully repaired dry rot problems that surfaced on the attached deck structure.on the property.He is a master craftsman in all areas of construction.

We've used him for multiple projects at our Sausalito home and our business (Bar Method International Inc.). The last home project was a total remodel of a main floor bathroom. Tile flooring, pebble tile shower stall floor, glass tile shower interior, frameless glass enclosed shower walls/door, lighting, fan, toilet, electrical, sink/vanity installation and plumbing, fixtures, and painting. Other projects have included: Semi-Remodel of one of our downstairs bathrooms (vanity, re-plumbing, fixtures, electrical, painting, & some tile work), creating a walk-in closet, rebuilding an above ground hot-tub support structure which integrates with lower deck, and other assorted other smaller jobs. In our businesses, Barry remodeled our entire studio lobby area to include flooring, front desk client interface counter, electrical and lighting. Additionally, Barry rebuilt our exercise studio client locker room vanity and 2 sink areas and also installed new restroom toilet privacy panels. In another warehouse location he built office space with drop down walls along with flooring and electrical work. Barry is always cognizant of our needs whether it be towards minimizing the impact to our clients or keeping dust down at our home. He is thoughtful and at days end, always cleans up the work space. As issues arise (and they always do when you open up walls and flooring), Barry will explain all the options clearly and execute on the agreed upon planned action, in other words, he won't do anything outside of scope without your involvement. We trust him fully and completely in our businesses and home to be professional, timely, and deliver high quality work.

Barry Mullis Construction made it possible for us to have our dream remodelling job realized. We turned a laundry/ Utility room into a bathroom and remodelled the other two bathrooms in our house. It was a great pleasure doing business with Barry and his subcontractors, because they were all so friendly and accessible. He finished the work very promptly and his craftsmaship is fine. He was organized and efficient when coordinating with his Subs. When Barry & his crew completed the extensive remodels, our house appraised for a much higher price which offset the cost of the job. His pricing was very reasonable and his patience was infinite. I feel like I now have a friend as well as a Contractor.

Barry installed our new kitchen, which comprised assembling and installing new cabinets, a stove, splash back, fridge, sink, garbage disposal and lights. He demolished the old kitchen and for a section of new floorspace that was exposed, he found and installed new hardwood floors to match the existing floor. He reshaped a soffit and installed an extractor vent and stove hood. Barry gave us a quote up front and stayed within the budget. He did a fantastic job demonstrating progress and explaining the next steps. When we didn't have time to talk, he'd send us an email with updates. He kept the workspace clean and minimized intrusion on the rest of the house. From a budget and project management perspective, his work was exemplary. We honestly couldn't be happier with his professionalism, his dedication to make the project a success, and how he made sure that we were satisfied with the end result. What impressed me most though is his attention to detail and the artistry he puts into his work. For example, the delivered cabinets were slightly too narrow and he made adjustments so the doors would still be perfectly centered (if he hadn't shown us the modification we would never not have known that it wasn't part of the original manufactured cabinets). It's now more than two years later, and we are still enjoying the kitchen!

Barry is a fabulous contractor who has helped us with for all of our interior remodeling projects! He recently remodeled our en suite bathroom, turning a very outdated, crammed space into something clean and modern. It was my first bathroom remodel and he was wonderful about explaining the process to me, helping me pick out tiles, and figuring out what needed to be done to get to the modern, but not generic style I was looking for. His attention to detail was amazing and he was creative about finding solutions to problems (like me buying a sink with holes that were too small for the faucet and handles). Along the way, he suggested things I hadn't thought of, like recessed lighting, that really added to the modern feel of the space. Barry was respectful of our time and kept the house clean during the remodel. His rates are very reasonable and he stayed within the estimate he gave me. I highly recommend his company!
