La Costa Cabinets & Design
La Jolla, CA Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
September 20, 2014
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Holly Stosic at our homes in Manhattan Beach and in Arizona. The MB house remodel was a galley Kitchen and three bathrooms. The kitchen was orginally very dark and confining. We have a vaulted ceiling. Holly suggested putting in windows above the cabinets, so we wouldn’t lose storage. The outcome was beautiful and it brings in so much natural light. The cabinets are a soft gray (almost white) very coastal looking. The laundry was adjacent to the kitchen and it is all enclosed in cabinetry, so it looks like part of the kitchen. Holly put in a gray cabinet/pantry that looks like a piece of furniture. She added quartz counter tops and blue iridescent Sonoma tile. Holly suggested incorporating rustic wood shelves and a beautiful butcher block top of our adjacent bar area. In kid’s Jack and Jill suite we used Walker Zanger white crackle tile. It had so many great different pieces and allows for accessorizing as our girls grow-up. Going with the coastal theme of the house, we used a Carrera marble looking Caesarstone on the counters. All of our vanities were raised, as we are a very tall family. Holly didn’t miss a beat and she even fed our pets while we were on vacation. Our bathroom was also Walker Zanger tile, an off-white tile with soft green accent tiles. The cabinets are an off-white called linen. The powder room has a bold patterned tile on the floor and a porcelain vanity. The whole family loves the house so much. Recently, we purchased a home in the desert. Holly has such incredible listening skills. She makes the project fun and I just felt so confidant. Even when things go wrong, she is right there with a solution. I love that she doesn’t make excuses. Her team is incredible. We’re in the planning stages for our desert house, which will be very modern. I highly recommend La Costa Cabinets & Design.

TaylorPro Design and Remodeling, Inc.

Kerry completely remodelled my kitchen. He demoed old cabinets and plumbing, knocked out a wall, took out some drywall. He redid all the kitchen electrical and plumbing. New wood cabinets, granite countertops, stone tile backsplash, sink and faucet. Installed 3 new ceiling fans. He ran home theater wiring inside the wall and attic so it would be hidden. I supplied certain fixtures and appliances, and I separately arranged for new flooring, painting, and carpeting for the rest of the house. Total project cost, including TaylorPro's part and everything else, was about $57,000. I was delighted with Kerry and his crew. They did a high quality job, and kept me informed at all times. Among the four excellent contractors we interviewed, Kerry struck me as highly experienced and confident he would complete the job on time. The work was estimated at 4 weeks; it turned out to take 5 weeks, mainly because the countertop fabricator took longer than expected. We have shown off the new kitchen to many friends, neighbors, and Facebook friends. They are stunned, it's just sooo beautiful! I get up every morning, turn on the new under cabinet lights, pour my coffee, and smile at the look of the granite. I had a special request for an island countertop that would slide back and forth. With 350 pounds of granite this is not an easy request. Kerry designed it and built it. At our unveiling we had old ladies moving it back and forth with one finger, yet it locks in place easily. A major kitchen remodel is an ordeal. You go 3 or 4 weeks with no sink or dishwasher. There's dust everywhere, even with the plastic wall they put up to keep it out. Washing dishes in the bathtub is no fun. But we designated a spare room as a temporary kitchen, and Kerry moved the fridge and microwave in there for us. We had the outdoor grill, so we didn't eat out very much. This is true with everybody, but Kerry kept the dust down to about 3 weeks. I had many detailed requests that were probably a lot fussier than the average customer. Kerry's crew was on top of every one of them, making sure I was completely satisfied. Jake, Randall, and Kevin, his crew, accommodated my every request. The cabinets are subbed out to Kitchen Emporium, who provided a high quality result, and Kerry passed along his deep discount to me. Jerry at KE was also very impressive, redesigning my kitchen layout much better than my original request. Jerry's team, Gil, Abraham, and Cesar were also very attentive to detail and made sure everything was perfect.
Groysman Construction
La Jolla, CA Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
November 24, 2014
I hired Groysman Construction to do remodeling of the kitchen in my house and also to add high-efficiency high-airflow fans in two bathrooms. The remodeling was largely limited to replacing old appliances by the new ones. This required the electrical wires and terminals be replaced and the existing cabinets be modified to fit to the new appliances. Regarding installation of the fans, Groysman Construction discovered that existing ducts were too narrow and did not match the new fans' specifications. They proposed the ducts be replaced and they offered for that part of the job only very small fee, which surprised me a lot (pleasantly surprised, I might add). The overall job was done very well and in the promised time. In my estimation the total fee for the job was very competitive. I was very satisfied with Groysman Construction. If an opportunity arises, I would hire them again. -RD, Rancho Bernardo, San Diego

Matt Barns & the whole Kitchens Plus team did a complete kitchen remodel for us and we couldn't be happier with the job they did. The entire process was seamless and professional. Their quote for time was upheld and the price fair and accurate with no surprise charges along the way. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a home project.
Classic Home Improvements
La Jolla, CA Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
August 22, 2015
This review focuses on the selection process and structured of bid presentation of CHI. After reading many online reviews, it is clear that this is a critical phase and we hope to provide you some insights with our experience and the reasons why we chose ‘Classic Home Improvements’ (CHI). We read in detail about Do and DON’Ts when embarking in major remodeling projects. Following city approval of our remodeling plans we initiated the search process for a contractor to work with for our Kitchen and First floor remodeling. We interviewed at least 6 independent contractors and companies established in San Diego. We however, did not feel major connection to anyone. We learned of CHI after receiving a known home magazine. After our hesitation to call someone not directly referred by ‘word of mouth’ we decided to give them a chance. From the beginning, CHI process was positively different: an online operator set up our appointment and kept us informed prior to their visit. Then Mr. George Brown, the lead Design person contacted me 5-days prior to his visit and I provided him all our plans, and specifications by e-mail. When we met George, few things were clear in the style of CHI: they reviewed plans carefully prior to their visit, listen to costumer perceptions and communication was clear and assertive. In speaking with George, it was evident that he had years of experience and provided insights for our project. Subsequently, George came back to our house as he offered within 10 days of his initial visit. During the interim, CHI administrative assistants will set up appointment details. Contrary to many of our prior experiences, George presented in person a detailed, itemized scope of work and proposal. We discussed our fixed budget and time line. His bid was not among the lower ones, but we felt right for a reputable, formal company that will delivered outstanding craftsmanship work. Prior to signing contract, we requested some clarifications regarding certain details of scope of work, and terms of workmanship warranty provided by CHI. George was extremely responsible and CHI honored everything we had discussed and agreed verbally in our personal meetings. This speaks about the integrity of George and CHI. Within 5 days of signing the contract we met Kelley, our ‘product selection coordinator’, a true knowledgeable, well-mannered professional to work with. CHI has clearly delivered in an efficient timeline a very professionally structured protocol to star-up the process of our remodeling. We feel that it was worth to wait close to 9 months to final meet George and CHI. They take seriously costumer’s perceptions and their dream projects. They clearly work with integrity and costumer’s satisfaction in mind. We are looking forward to the implementation phase of our project and to show you the final pictures of our project when completed! January 2016: The present review focus on the implementation of the project as I already described our bid process with CHI. Our project lasted 3.5 months and involved major structural kitchen remodeling with renovation of our entire flooring in our first floor. Although we had upfront all architectural, designer and engineer plans, it was a plus to work with a professional company that reviewed every single detail before, during and after project completion. Office: Yvonne and Kelley, thoroughly constructed 3D visual plans (20/20 CAD) and reviewed scales of our project. Indeed, they picked up details that were overlooked in our original plans that could have affected ultimate look of our remodeling project. Dan, the manager, well rounded and organized, provided all the required legal documents timely as agreed prior to start the construction according to law. Nicole was timely providing me the pdf documents of every single payment and keep me updated with balance and logistics of the project. Project manager: Mr. Larry Chase, deserves a special mention, he is well-manner and spoken, impeccable listener and detail oriented. Trust him. He will make sure every sub-contractor delivers impeccable work as detailed in contract and plans. More importantly, if something unexpected happens, he will immediately take care of the matter and fix it for you. For example, resolving an unexpected plumbing issue. I'd like to highlight his work integrity, reflected in two things: stayed within budget and even credited money when final labor was not performed as originally planned. I used this credit to complete some additional home work. A special note is the honesty of every worker involved, this is paramount whenever you have 'strangers' working closely with your most treasure asset: your family. After going through this experience my recommendations to the average educated costumer are the following: first, do your homework and put in writing as detailed as possible your scope of work. Second, plan unexpected 15% for both your budget and any provided agreed timeline with your constructor. I found this last part very important, because like when having a major surgery, if something unexpected arise during the surgery, you don't want your surgeon to rush but rather to do it well and only once. I believe that the same concept applies to construction. Third, if you are a formal, detailed-oriented person and like quality, consider strongly CHI, they will exceed your expectations for their work integrity, workmanship and well-planned process. Certainly, they are a cost effective-option for the outstanding quality of work they deliver. I recommend CHI highly

Cairns Craft Remodeling - Charles and Marie they are a great team. What I love about working with this company is that they plan ahead, think through the details of your project and review them with the designer before starting the project, but also while the project is in construction. They are great at communicating and keeping the designer, client and contractor all on the same page, even when things need to be addressed that are not always obvious due to construction conditions. I would highly recommend using Cairns Craft. We make a great team. Signature Designs Bonnie

Integrity Home Improvements, Inc.
La Jolla, CA Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
November 17, 2013
used Integrity Home Improvements to do an addition of a second story on my home. After researching and meeting with various design/build firms over a year period, I chose Integrity. Prior to beginning my project everyone whom I told that I was adding on warned me to expect a long, stressful process. We lived in our house during this remodel and it was not bad AT ALL!! A large plastic wall separated my living space from the work that was being done. This minimized dust( there will always be dust) while giving me privacy while I was home and there were people working in the house. Ryan works very closely with you when designing the layout and choosing all the finishes. All while keeping my budget and allowed amounts for finishes in mind. I even made some significant layout changes which were done without hesitation. I was given a certain time line and the project was completed about 10 days after the promised date( and this was after all the changes/additions that I had made to the project). From what I have heard, that is GREAT!! Ryan and Jerahmee are great! They were very responsive to my many and frequent questions/ideas via email, telephone and text. Both also very trustworthy guys! All of the people working for Integrity are also trustworthy and hardworking. The majority of my project there were people working on Saturdays( which was no problem for me). I am pleased to say that my completed 2nd story bedroom and bathroom were EXACTLY how I had envisioned and I am SOOOO happy with my finished project! I would HIGHLY recommend Integrity and will use them again for any future projects!
Marrokal Design & Remodeling
La Jolla, CA Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
June 6, 2013
We raised our family in the same neighborhood over 26 years. Our home yearned for updating. Some goals were: eliminate fall risks from multi level flooring, make downstairs bathroom senior safe, open up family room and brighten up downstairs with new doors and windows. We chose Marrokal because of their impeccable reputation. We did not seek other bids because ours would be the 7th Marrokal remodel project in our small cul-de-sac. All our neighbors praised their work. The Design Team exceeded our expectations and incorporated creative innovations into our home AND helped us stay within our budget. The production phase required a bit of oversight, but this job, remodeling all of the downstairs, was completed on time in 5 1/2 months. We lived in our home during the project and Marrokal always kept the job site clean! The caliber of subs was top notch. The final product turned out fabulous! Finally, we rarely need to utilize our extended warranty due to the quality of workmanship, nothing breaks! There is no doubt in our minds that we will hire Marrokal for future projects. You should too!!
