Willis Builders Inc
Montgomery Village, MD Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
June 26, 2017
I hired Willis Builders in 2017 to build a new screen porch. While the finished product is good, it was an unnecessarily rocky and frustrating process. Matt, the owner, agreed to have the project completed by April 24th, roughly a 5 week timeline, and agreed to have that deadline written in the contract. The project started off really well with the company starting right away and completing a lot in the first week. For whatever reason, everything slowed considerably after that and it required frequent nagging to get them to make progress. The project manager would not reply to email, text or phone so getting updates or asking questions was very difficult. Matt was generally very good about getting back to me though so that helped but even after he apparently spoke to the project manager, there was no improvement on that end. The project was finally completed at the beginning of June, about twice the time we agreed upon. There was no unusually bad weather (done in Spring), no permitting delays, no external issues to blame for this. When pressed I would hear conflicting stories about the delays or would receive promises that were not kept. As for the quality of work, I would give it maybe a 7/10. Overall, it is a good looking screen porch, but there were a few issues. The ceiling was originally going to be stained, but because the quality of the wood used was not great, I thought it best just to have them paint over it. They used indoor outlets for an outdoor project so it failed inspection the first time around. They must have run out of the 1” molding that goes all around the perimeter so for one of the three walls, they stuck up half round shoe molding instead which looks really odd. But again, those things are not that major and we are happy with how it turned out in the end. The way Matt charged for this project I would describe as somewhat “misleading.” When we met we agreed and shook on a total price of $22,500. When I received the contract, the total price excluded some things that ended up increasing the total cost by several thousand dollars. For ex. the roof was listed at $0 but in the description it stated “We will budget $2000 - $3000 for the labor to install the metal roofing . Roofer will give pricing and will be under $3000.” I missed that line item (my fault) so already the cost was really at $25,500. Another example is the cost of materials. Contract states, “We estimate materials to total around $7500” so that is what I budgeted but when they came to $8400, Matt emailed me that, “I had no idea what it was going to cost when I said I guesstimate materials at $7500.” A “guestimate” could be anything I suppose. I think in the future, a fixed price would be preferable for the customer. I don’t think Matt is a bad guy, and I think the crew is competent, I just think his team and process needs some work.

I and my wife are very pleased with the work done by NV Kitchen & Bath. Thanks to our close family friend's recommendation. NV Staff made it very easy and pleasant process for us from selection to budgeting with customized options. Sean managed the entire project. His recommendations were great. He addressed all the concerns we had and he was easy to get a hold of throughout the process and was very accommodating to our schedules. Job was done by timely manner. We are very happy with results. We would recommend their service without any doubt.
Z&P Construction, Inc.

February 11, 2016
We worked with Z&P on several bathroom projects and one conversion to a walk-in closet. The projects were broken down and done in smaller pieces, per our limitations and request. This was the only contractor that took their time to create a detailed proposal & accurate cost estimate. Their work quality is amazing, they were on time, professional & no overruns. Eugene listened well to what we were looking for. He can make miracles happen!
Dorman Home Remodeling, Inc.
Montgomery Village, MD Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
October 30, 2014
We have hired CJ and Donna Dorman to help plan and remodel our master bathroom. Our planning and selection process has nearly been completed with final details being arranged this week. Donna is cheerful, confident and wise is offering suggestions for cabinet design and layout and was helpful in selection ideas for the faucets, mirrors and lighting as well as suggestions for the "little things" like the towel racks and tp holder. She has made a trip out to the granite dealer to see our selection and then to bring a sample for us as well as possible porcelain color choices for this. CJ has been on the scene for measurements, suggestions as well as helping us identify a moisture issue elsewhere in the house... (that we hope is unrelated to this planned project!) We had our kitchen remodel done with Dorman a few years back and we were thrilled with the outcome. When we were considering a bathroom remodel, we chose Dorman first and without seeking another estimate. The workers were professional and punctual and the project came in on time and on budget. We are confident of this outcome as well.
KBR Kitchen & Bath
Montgomery Village, MD Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
March 27, 2014
KBR Kitchen & Bath performed full remodeling in our kitchen. As a result, we are very pleased with the work. From beginning to the end, it was a very well organized project. They changed our floor, cabinets, countertop, backsplash and added recessed lights. They had numerous material options. We were very satisfied with what we got. Our designer,Armagan was very helpful during the design process and was realistic with us about what would/would not work based on the space we had to work with.. KBR team was very responsive to our emails for questions and concerns. Even about the smallest change, they kept us posted. They were on the contract schedule and completed the project 1 week earlier than what said on the contract. The KBR workers were on the job each day from start to finish. They were very helpful, respectful and nice. Every morning, they covered the floor and the walls with plastics and blankets and at the end of the they cleaned all related areas. They were always on time. Craftsmanship was excellent. I felt very comfortable during the project. They also took care of little things that were not required but made the look complete. We are very happy with our new kitchen and would recommend KBR to any and all who ask!
Dmv Kitchen & Bath Inc.

September 1, 2015
I had never been satisfied with a house remodeler/work before. DMV Kitchen and Bath gutted and remodeled our bathroom (9x7'). They did an incredible job! They were very professional, explained everything every step of the way, and tolerated me popping in multiple times a day. The project manager was always accessible and the designer remembered everything I ever said. They offered an opinion when I asked for it but always did the work requested. They stayed on budget so there were no surprises. Their price was also very reasonable. I couldn't be happier. I will definitely use them for my other bathroom once I find a vanity that fits.

Isaac and his team did an excellent job on my bathroom considering it was a 1950s style with a lot of concrete. I cannot believe my eyes when I look at my new bathroom...it has been updated and the tile work was spectacular. I sought 3 quotes for the project and 3D design offered the best option. Their price quote was very reasonable considering the level of the upgrades. I would definitely recommend them and would use them again in the future.
Hassle Free Home Improvements
Montgomery Village, MD Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
July 11, 2014
The crew was on time every morning and worked at least part of every day during the period. Length of day depended on what materials had been delivered, whether there was wet paint or spackling that had to be allowed to dry, etc. Our contract called for the work to be done in seven weeks and it was done in six. The final cost was very close to the original estimate and we were notified of any adjustments, plus or minus, when they occurred, so there were no surprises or sticker shock. For example, Steve suggested changing the original plan by moving the toilet to a better location, which would open the bathroom up much more and make it noticeably larger. It was a great idea, but there was a slight additional cost for plumbing and we were told this before the change was made and we approved it. By the same token, an original plan to build a new closet in the adjoining room was dropped and there was a corresponding reduction in the costs. Mickey made two or three visits to our house to scope out possible plans for the new bathroom long before work began. He also spent an entire day with us visiting the various shops that sold the materials we needed, including counter tops, tile, and plumbing fixtures. He also ordered cabinets and other materials to our specifications. The quality of the work was first rate and we are very happy with the new bathroom, closet and hallway. There were some minor fixes and touch ups that were needed in the days following completion of work, and someone was here promptly each day to complete them until we were satisfied. The crew deserves special praise for their excellent work, terrific attitude, professionalism and friendliness. If you are going to have people working in your house for six weeks, these are the kind of guys you want doing the work. We became friends with all of them and will have them back for more work this year. All in all, we could not be happier with Hassle Free Home Improvements and highly recommend the company.

I truly want to point out the professionalism of United Cabinet Store. We had a very pleasant experience with this company. They had renovated our kitchen for a fair price compared to other remodeling companies out in the MD area. Very knowledgeable and helpful customer service. Alex was very professional and very to the point where we needed some clarifications regarding to questions and he took his time to answer every each one of them. We were astonished with their service and didn't really expected this much help from them. 5 star for their service. Thanks again for helping me getting a brand new kitchen.
Design Kitchens & Bath LLC
Montgomery Village, MD Kitchen and Bathroom Remodelers
January 24, 2014
We recently employed Design Kitchens and Bath, a family owned and operated company, to remodel and enlarge our kitchen. The remodeling included new flooring, all new cabinetry, granite countertops, new and improved lighting, stone backsplash installation, painting, and new energy efficient windows. An interior wall was removed to greatly increase kitchen size. The performance of Design Kitchens and Bath was outstanding. They designed a floor plan based on our input, and were very helpful in the selection of cabinet style, flooring, color coordination, and numerous other remodeling decisions. This greatly eased the ordeal of the remodeling project. The project started on schedule and was completed within the timeline provided at contract signing. The craftsmanship of the finished product is superb and we are delighted with the outcome. It greatly enhances the value of our property. We would highly recommend Design Kitchens and Bath to anyone who wants to work with a quality home remodeling company at a reasonable price. Robert and Lynne H.
