I participated in a Windsor chair making class through Chicone October 17th 2016. Beforehand I did not know how physically demanding it would be, but every second of sore muscles was more than worth the final product! I learned to use many different tools; spokeshave, travisher, compass plane, scorp and for those like me who are not very familiar with drills, they teach it all! Both Vincent and his trusted friend/co-worker Levi were patient, but efficient in our teaching. We may have only had a week to learn how to make our chair but you would be amazed at how much you can learn in a week. At one point I did not understand how to accomplish my task the way he had explained to the class, but he made sure to explain/teach it to me in a way I could better understand. I would highly recommend this class/business to anyone and everyone interested. You will not be disappointed. I now have a beautiful hand crafted Windsor chair that will last a couple hundred years and skills I hope to perfect

Vincent Chicone is simply the best contractor we've ever worked with. Not only is he highly skilled and generous with advice, he is honest and trustworthy. To us, after previous experience with others in the field, that is worth the price of admission. He takes as much care in preparing and itemizing a bill as he does guiding his team on the ground as cleaning a job site at the end of the day's work or, most importantly, as creating his beautifully crafted cabinetry in his shop. We highly recommend him and will be using him again.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Windsor Chair Making class. We went from logs to chairs in five days. Levi and Vincent are excellent teachers and they explain and demonstrate well. They are both very patient and work with you every step of the way. The class sizes are small and this was great for being able to build a rapport with the instructors and the other classmates. We used many hand tools for shaping, carving, planing, and smoothing, and were encouraged to try them all to find what works best for the task at hand. I am planning to take another class soon.

I just finished my 3rd chair, a Windsor rocking chair this past week. I cannot begin put into words the feeling of accomplishment you get when the build is complete. Vincent and Levi are excellent teachers and are patient way beyond what what was humanly possible. If you have ever wanted to build a Windsor, then this school is for you.

I have been photographing Chicone Cabinet makers work on site and in my studio for years. The breadth of their work as well as the quality of each and every piece consistently impresses. They stay true to their art and are craftsmen in the truest sense of the word, which is why it was an easy decisions to hire them for my own kitchen remodel.
