I would highly recommend Garrett Construction, not only for their craftsmanship but for their ability to bring unique design ideas to the project. We had them build an extension to our home in 2005 and were so happy with the results that all of our future remodel projects have been done by them. Bathroom remodels and a complete overhaul of our kitchen. Every window in our house has been replaced by Garret Construction. Russ is very particular and won't call a project complete until he is satisfied with the results.

We hired Garrett Construction for two remodeling jobs on our house. Russ Garrett knows how to find solutions, has excellent design ideas, and pays attention to details. He makes sure everything gets done correctly with impeccable results. His crew are also detail oriented, get things done on time, and always leave the workspace clean and tidy. We Contracted with Garrett Construction to evaluate and fix a wall in our 4Seasons room which was cracking away from the house. Mr. Garrett correctly identified the cause as it not having been attached to the main condo properly on original construction .We belong to a HOA so the Board needed to be consulted and the project bid and approved. Mr. Garrett handled this situation with panache. He sent a young man who was very knowledgeable, professional, and competent. He was able to complete all phases of project by himself including the finishing work and painting.

Worked with Russ for our kitchen remodel. Worked on the design until comfortable with both project and price. They were timely, responsive and did a great job.

Russ and his crew are fantastic! They were courteous and professional, but more importantly they did gorgeous, valuable work on our home––beautiful renovation of a 1920 bungalow, entirely modern but in keeping with the style of the house. We'd hire them again in a heartbeat, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Russ's team has done several jobs for me, including a basement remodel and installing fiber cement siding/rebuilding the front porch. Workmanship was top-notch and Russ is a real pleasure to work with . . . he often has ideas that expand on my original concepts and I'm always happy with the end product. I've worked with several of his subcontractors on separate projects, too (with Russ's permission, of course!) and have always been impressed with their skills and attention to detail. I don't need to hunt around for a general contractor or a specific trade any more . . . I only call Russ!!

I hired Garrett Construction to completely remodel my home in Kalona in 2011. They took my 70's fixer-upper and turned it into a gorgeous, modern home - inside and out. Updates included: complete kitchen and bath remodel, designing and installing a new staircase inside the house (the staircase was previously in the garage), new flooring/paint in entire house, new fixtures in entire house, new exterior paint, rebuilt deck, and updated exterior entry way, along with a few smaller projects. Russ and his crew were always pleasant to work with. The job was done in a timely, professional manner and Russ did an excellent job getting me the biggest bang for my buck. I love the results and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely use this contractor again.

Garrett Construction Company updated our kitchen, including new ceiling & lights, new floor, all new cabinets and stone counter tops. Russ Garrett is fully knowledgeable and obviously hires excellent craftsmen. He was a patient and understanding guide as we developed ideas for the kitchen.
