We hired Gilbert Design to fully remodel our guest bathroom and main bedroom bathroom. In a word, their work is excellent. We love the results. The entire process from the initial consult to the design to the construction to the completion was seamless. We love the design team and the project management was excellent. They hire excellent contractors who are professional and excellent in their abilities. The tile work is magnificent. We highly recommend Gilbert Design. Gilbert Design Build recently completed a kitchen renovation for us. They were highly professional and the work came out beautifully! As with any project there were some hiccups along the way but our project manager, Devis, ensured speedy resolution. He really took care of us.

I am impressed with the Gilbert Design Build company. The staff at their showroom is very professional, patient, and informative. The carpenters are very polite and very detailed, the quality is excellent. My neighborhood can be meticulous when it comes to workers coming in and out but they were impressed with those that have been in my home. I will absolutely work with them on future remodels and can easily recommend them.

I needed some quick work done before guests arrived from out of town. I contacted Gilbert Design Build, and their response exceeded my expectations. Nick assessed what needed to be done, a bi-fold closet door install, and wobbly lanai fan. Nick was very efficient, and even found faulty wiring in my ceiling fan, and immediately took care of the issue. Wow!!!! What an amazing experience we had with Gilbert Design and Build. Honestly I had no idea how much was involved with a kitchen remodel but fortunately for me they did. The best part for me was we were able to totally trust them to take care of everything. Even things that were outside their scope of work they handled and would not allow us to pay them for the additional work. From the design process to the final county inspection they were amazing. Ernest Gilbert is a con man. I am embarrassed to have contracted with him in the first place. After an intensely focused sales effort to win our confidence, Ernest himself became non-existent. Even when our "3-week" project went over 1 year, Ernest would not answer our calls but instead had his "executive secretary" call us. (His office is in a strip mall.) At every turn, something other than what was required was performed, or nothing at all, with no project guidance. Instead, the situation was left to inertia, to drift into the hands of the next person to not know the status of the job. After final completion of the job, they again simply ignored requests for waivers from subcontractors as required by Florida law. After finally complying 88 days later, Gilbert demanded payment within 2 days and placed a lien on my house when informed that my billing would process payment (and paid) in 2 weeks. Ernest is not just a con-man but a bully with a "zero sum" approach to his clients-- all that matters is that he wins.

We decided to the entire downstairs of our home. We chose Gilbert Design Build to do the project. The entire project went well and we are very satisfied with the end result. Competent, pleasant workers, skilled at what they do, did a superb job of transforming our entire downstairs-kitchen, family room, living room, dining room, guest bathroom, master bedroom and master bathroom. The project was large and took longer than anticipated, but is so worth it in the end.

Everything was completed to our satisfaction. Small items needing adjustments were immediately addressed without any debate. The project management, the tradesmen, and the subcontractors were all a credit to the excellent experience of dealing with Gilbert Design and Build.

I recent contracted Gilbert Design-Build to remodel my bathroom. My old bathroom was a nightmare. I wanted something totally different, masculine, but with a sense of style. My Gilbert Design-Build designer, Jennifer Strohl visited my house, photographed my bathroom, and listened to what I wanted them to accomplish. She helped me figure a budget for the job and help me select products that fit in with what I wanted and the budget. The build team and lead carpenter Bill Evans were very professional and always cleaned up every evening before they left. They would even let my cat out of the room she stayed in while they worked. The end result was even better than I had hoped for. Jennifer absolutely nailed it. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Gilbert Design-Build again(which I will probably do when I remodel my kitchen) or recommend them to friends needing remodeling. Bob Priebe

They remodeled two bathrooms for us back-to-back, including new tile, cabinets, mirrors, lighting, fixtures. We didn't need major structural work. We look for someone who will do the job right, stand by the work, and minimize the hassle for the customer. We found all that in Ernest -- and a sense of humor, too. He intends to build a relationship and maintain a reputation so that you will want to come right back to him the next time you have a project. Gilbert will never be the cheapest estimate, but we were confident in the high quality of materials and workmanship. When we had the occasional glitch in the process, Ernest handled it with integrity.

We're really enjoying the new year in our new kitchen. We converted a two-level counter into a single-level, giving us miles of granite on which to roll out dough and make scratch pizzas. We make a lot of bread - the neighbors love us! The Gilbert Design Build team was great to work with from conception to cleanup.

Hired Dreammaker Kitchen and Bath to redo a master bath and redo a vanity in a second bath. The start date was pushed back for months due to their working on other jobs. It was also delayed because of their company policy to have everything in their warehouse before starting the job. Once the job was started communication was very poor. There were several days no one showed up and when we called we were told the crew was pulled to another more important job. The designer was pleasant but when it came time to discuss costs she was either unwilling or unable to do that ("everything is bundled"). I was never given cost comparisons for anything. So I never knew where I stood in my budget. Half way through the selection and purchasing process I was told by the designer, "this job got away from me and we are $10,000 over the $20,000 budget., By the time we finished a $20,000 job estimate cost $40,000. To be fair I ended up picking high cost items, but some of that was because no one was controlling the budget or letting me know what things were costing. Workmanship was fair to good. I am still unhappy about several issues such as one cabinet too high and the other too low, all 3 sinks are too small. The granite was not cut properly now I have backsplashes that don't match. Would I hire this company or recommend them, absolutely not. As a matter of fact several neighbors wanted to have work done but when they saw how long our job took just for bathrooms, they said absolutely not.

Gilbert Design Build performed a complete renovation of our master bathroom for accessibility and updating. The shower/toilet area was expanded and converted to a wet room design. The vanity/counter top area was moved and opened for wheelchair height. Designer grab bars where installed in both areas. A wall had to be removed to increase mobility space. Lighting was improved and safety issues addressed. All details including shower wall design, flooring, and toilet area were to enhance ease of cleaning, The design had to maintain a minimal movement component to avoid distractions for my husband who has an Alzheimer's dementia diagnosis. Gilbert Design Build was my choice for their CAPPS certification and willingness to "think outside the box" when designing a project which focused on a disability. Although pricing was not the least expensive of local designers, Gilbert Design Build did not limit me to specific products and was open to all requests without judgment. I was impressed with their respect and appreciation for my ideas and took the time to discuss all of my needs and those of my husband. The onsite work was not to begin until all special order products were received which reduced the "down time" considerably. Each step of the process was outlined in a hard copy binder left in the home as well as a secure on line site which was kept updated almost daily. With the exception of the demolition process, my husband and I were living in the home during the entire renovation. The Project Manager Bob Meehan asked my input and needs to make us as comfortable as possible while construction took place. Any questions or issues were brought to the attention of the Lead Carpenter Jimmy Delmutalo who would keep us informed on a daily basis. Input was requested at all steps of the process so we felt very essential to the project with no bombshells. Jimmy updated us with a phone call every evening or morning to give details on which contractors would be expected that day. All aspects of the job were done with exceedingly superior cleanliness, quality, and communication. Gilbert Design Build went above and beyond the average to meet those objectives and more. All personnel were professional and courteous throughout the time they were at our home. One issue did arise when a portion of the shower wall product was found to have defects. The Lead Carpenter Jimmy was able to have the manufacturer expedite a replacement in half the original time with profuse apologies to us. Accolades to Gilbert Design Build for catching this problem before it became a catastrophe and being proactive in rectifying the situation. The office support team was friendly, helpful, and professional. Jessica Gilbert was very open and easy to work with on the financial aspects and never hesitate to answer my questions. Kayla Buckson was energetic and a delight in having as a pivotal communications role between the field and the office. Is Gilbert Build Design the CHEAPEST contractor? NO; HOWEVER, I received the quality and design I had hoped for, a level of professionalism that I seldom see nowadays, and had absolutely no reason to have them return for any "do-overs" or repairs more than two months after the project was completed. I love everything about our new bathroom. Would I use Gilbert Build Design AGAIN? YES, without hesitation. No high pressure sales and a commitment to staying within budget (or in my case under budget) was a refreshing characteristic of this company.

DreamMaker of Manasota provides a unique concept in renovation/remodeling. They are truly a “one-stop-shop” making the remodeling/renovation experience so much easier. With an incredible showroom and knowledgeable design staff, there is no running around to cabinet makers, plumbers, lighting stores, etc. All your selections can be made in one location. I attended one of their seminars which I found very informative on their company and their approach to remodeling/renovation. When the process begins, you establish a budget based on the scope of the work, consult with a designer who assists in your selections, and establish a start date. A computerized schematic is produced to provide you with a visual of the finished product. I gave Jennifer, my design consultant, the concept of what I wanted to establish in the “feel” of the master suite design. When I attended our next appt, she had all her suggested materials displayed and she had assembled exactly the look that I had visualized. She is very talented and easy to work with. Their construction manager, Bob, is also a pleasure to work with. Very accommodating and flexible during the work process. The tile installer, Tim, was extremely meticulous and did an incredible job. Gregg, the painter, was neat and precise. Bill, one of their lead carpenters, was also most accommodating and fastidious in the finish work. The overall project did take somewhat longer than initially anticipated, however the end product was definitely worth the extra time. I am thrilled with the job that they did.

When we contacted DreamMaker, we also contacted other similar companies. We were looking for a company who can complete our project from A to Z and who would do all the coordinating. We first met their designer Jennifer and felt that she was attentive to what we wanted and would be able to redesign our space and make it more functional, and beautiful too! As soon as she presented her ideas, we were sold. Throughout the process of designing, ordering, building... everyone was very responsive and attended to issues/questions very quickly. They took care of minimizing the dust during the project and always picked up/cleaned up at end of each day. Every worker (DreamMaker employees and subcontractors) were polite and respectful, so we were never worried to have them alone in our home. There was some delays in the process, but usually out of their control. Overall the project was done within the time frame they initially gave us (except for minor touch up). We were impressed with their attention to details. We would use DreamMaker again in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking for a "headache free" remodeling!

This is a difficult review to write. Their showroom is beautiful and a great resource. Their designer is talented and helpful. The weak link in the team is the construction manager that was assigned to our project. He is typical of all the things people complain about in construction - scheduling and correction of mistakes. He was so terrible that I never recommend DreamMaker to any of my fellow residents for fear that they will have the same awful experience that we had. The carpenter on the crew was top notch and we highly recommend him. His work was impeccable. We are happy with the outcome, but it took a lot of effort to get the project done in a timely manner. The mistakes were totally avoidable had they just read the installation specifications.

I had Dreammakers remodel my kitchen including changing the location of my oven and microwave and removing hardwood floors, carpet, and old tile in half of my home and replacing it with new tile. My job was difficult because of the configuration of my very angled kitchen. Although there were a few problems that arose Dreammakers worked with me to correct the issues. The project manager, Bob, kept things going smoothly with the arrivals of demolition guys, electricians, plumbers, tilers, and carpenters. The carpenter, Adam, was great.

DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen was hired to renovate my guest/pool bathroom. The workers, staff, subs were all friendly, provided good workmanship and stayed on schedule. The manager of the project was communicative, receptive to me contacting him as needed and kept the project on time. The end result is gorgeous! I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

We hired DreamMaker to renovate our master suite: bathroom & bedroom. They were great to work with every step of the way. We loved the designer & the ideas she showed us. The bathroom was extensive, as it involved removing a large jacuzzi tub & moving the shape & direction of the shower. She was a great communicator & was able to incorporate all of the details that were important to us. There is a specific process that occurs when you work with Dream Makers. The work doesn't start until all the materials are received, but they work within your budget & offer lots of different price points for different materials. The work took a little longer than expected, due to a delayed start, but there is a foreman for each project & he is available by cellphone anytime you have questions or need updates, or have a problem regarding your project. We are very happy with the results. Our new bathroom feels like a spa at the beach & the bedroom is wonderful. The workmanship is excellent. We would hire them without fail for any other projects we have & have already recommended them to neighbors.

DreamMaker Bath and Kitchen of Manasota handled the remodel of our bathroom and kitchen. What set Mr. Gilbert apart was the initial meeting where his honesty, trustworthiness, and reliability were apparent. We were confident in his abilities and settled on the bathroom design and renovation. When it was completed, we were so pleased that we went ahead with the kitchen. Needless to say, Mr. Gilbert is meticulous in every aspect of his work. Unbeknownst to us, he replaced or scheduled a replacement of some items because he wasn't pleased with some aspect of the installation. It is fair to say that Mr. Gilbert is totally committed to customer satisfaction. You will not be disappointed.

We hired DreamMaker in 2013 to do a remodel on our master bath. We were very pleased with the attention and advice we received. There were a couple of minor problems that occurred after the completion of the job and they were promptly corrected. This past May we did a kitchen remodel and DreamMaker was the first and only company that we contacted to about doing the work. We received excellent advice during the selection process from the design team and the results are amazing.

We are in the midst of a master suite reno with this company. Every dealing thus far has been spot on. Prompt, professional, plus the level of creativity of their designer that we are working with is excellent. I cannot wait to see our new master suite. I researched other design firms & this company has a great reputation. One of our neighbors has had many reno projects with DreamMakers & one told us that she did not choose them, but wishes she had, as the work she had done wasn't satisfactory & that she was very impressed with their proposals. Will be happy to update this review when we are done.

This company remodeled my kitchen and a bathroom. I was pleased with the results and the follow up. Also was pleased with all the sub contractors but one. The company no longer employes this subcontractor.

This job involved a complete remodel including painting, removing popcorn from ceilings, tile to all floorings, changing out of ceiling fans, remodeling of 3 baths and complete kitchen remodel. Contractor was professional and provided me with all required documentation in an organized packet. During the early stages, I met with both the contractor and his designer who made some good recommendations regarding reconfiguring bathroom cabinetry. The final design was printed out with computerized photos. When I wanted items that weren't in his inventory, he was cooperative in ordering what I wanted. Permitting only took two weeks and demolition started promptly. There were some delays for various reasons which initially had me upset because I was under pressure to move in at a certain date, but when I moved in, most items had been completed and the place was surprisingly clean. No project is ever 100% perfect and I admit I tend to be picky. Overall, I was satisfied with DreamMaker and would definitely recommend them to others, but would advise them to be sure to have ALL details on paper to reduce surprises later on.

Having bought a house with "good bones," but outdated, we were willing to tackle lots of DIY projects. The complete gutting and reconfiguration of the master bath was not one of those projects, however. We visited the big box kitchen and bath departments and a number of local contractors. We came upon DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen in the process and visited their design studio. After a couple of conversations with Ernest Gilbert, the owner, and a thorough check of references (including BBB and Angie's List) we asked Mr. Gilbert to visit our home and prepare a quote. To be honest, it wasn't the lowest. But we liked the thorough approach -- including a consultation with a designer on the firm's staff -- and signed a contract for the work to begin. It was a mess, for certain, but daily clean-up was done scrupulously by the staff and the attention to detail was outstanding. We're picky, but the lead carpenter on the job was even more so. He rejected work by subcontractors we might have easily accepted and never relented until the finish was perfect. We have had contractors do jobs for us in the past -- from additions to complete new construction -- but this experience was the best. We liked the result so much we have hired DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen to now renovate our kitchen.
