John was extremely responsive, knowledgeable and courteous. Our heating went out in the middle of the night. In the morning, we called John who responded within minutes. He was able to find a replacement blower at a fair price and had it installed before night.

We hired John Sortman to add french doors and a new window to the master bedroom in addition to install replacement windows in the den. His estimate was accurate and came in under cost. The construction area was clean and neat everyday, addressed promptly any concerns we had and the quality of work is excellent. We have aleady asked for an estimate for the remaining windows and plan on using his company for future kitchen and bathroom renovations. We would highly recommend this company. John did a complete remodel of our bathroom while we were on vacation. We came back to a perfect bathroom - exactly what we asked for. We didn't have to keep checking up on him, and he called only when a surprise came up and he needed us to make a decision. He did a beautiful job and we get so many comments on the tilework. We also remodeled our kitchen ourselves, however, we needed some extra help with work we weren't familiar with. John came in and fixed a difficult plaster problem for us while we were mid-project. And of course we called him to put up the tile backsplash for us. We're so grateful that he was able to spend half a day to help us out!

Hallowed Ground Home Improvement has done siding, a new roof, as well as remodeled our bathrooms and laundry areas. I am thrilled with the work done, and will call them for any future needs.

I hired john sortman, owner of hallowed ground home improvements, to renovate two very old, dated bathrooms. Friends and their family members recommended him. I saw the work he had completed in their baths and kitchen and was confident that his talents would be perfect for my remodeling plans. We met, shared ideas, and began a fun project. (yes, i discovered that major remodels can be fun when you work with an excellent contractor!) i really appreciated mr. Sortman' s knowledge of material, electrical, plumbing, and every aspect of my remodels! His understanding of my general vision of what i wanted and his respect for my decisions made me confident that, together, we could create beautiful rooms. I now have my dream master suite. New bath with walk-in, fully tiled shower and new ada approved commode. That area is separated from my all new dressing area by a pocket door. Vanity with sink, separate make-up vanity, and new closet organization and sliding closet doors make this a beautiful space, perfect for me! John also built a custom medicine cabinet incorporating my ideas with his superb workmanship! The floors are travertine tile laid diagonally. My master bedroom is painted, has all new woodwork and carpet. Although john did not lay the carpet, he did make sure everything was prepared and done to my satisfaction. All details were handled properly and professionally. My guest bath went from ugly to gutted to amazing thanks to john's talents. Planning, choosing materials, and seeing the final design completed is very satisfying and, yes, fun! Professional, patient, knowledgeable, dependable, and respectful describe iohn sortman and make him an excellent choice for major renovations or minor repairs. Hallowed Ground Home Improvement did a great job on our master bath remodel. The work was done on-time and the quality was very good. John made suggestions on what tile to use for the walls and floor along with accent tile for the border. In the end, we only made one color change from what he had initially recommended which made the sometimes daunting task of color and pattern selection very easy. We have received numerous compliments on the stunning transformation of our master bath. The only thing holding me back from a 5-star review is the tiny details. We had a few issues with caulk and grout lines not being complete or straight, but John came back out each time requested and completed the work to our satisfaction. If you're looking for a great company to do your next remodel job, I would recommend Hallowed Ground Home Improvement. Honesty and integrity is in everything they do.
