Hernz Design Build Remodel

From start to finish, and beyond top rated, professional, and truly care about their customers. You will not be disappointed. We recommend highly. They remodeled our bathroom. Also, completed on time!

Hernz Home Improvements team is great! Sebastian, Jess & Ignacio were so easy to work with. My new addition and deck exceeded all my expectations. The project was completed on time and the team adjusted to our needs if we added or changed things along the way. The communication was great with a weekly agenda given to us. Jess’s designer touch made our project exceptionally beautiful! Thank you Hernz team for a job well done!!

We've done two renovation projects with Hernz so far, both were quite successful. We did our hall bathroom which required a full gut and redesign. When it came time to finish our previously unfinished basement, Hernz was our one and only call. They helped us work through various design elements and options to narrow down the exact scope of job we had in mind. It's helpful that they are a one stop shop for the design, materials sampling, materials ordering/delovery, and construction. Other contractors will make you run around to get all the materials ordered. With Hernz you just go to their showroom and they work through all the steps for you. During the course of the construction, they were open to all feedback to make sure everything went exactly to plan. For the few hiccups that occurred (as every major project inevitably has), they worked to resolve them quickly and to our desires. They were always quick to respond to questions, and fully documented all the blueprints so we all understood all aspects of the plan. I can't recommend Hernz highly enough. When it comes time for our next major job, they will be our one call again.

We had an excellent experience with Hernz Home during our kitchen remodel. From the initial consultation to the final walkthrough, the team was professional, reliable, and easy to work with. They paid close attention to detail, communicated clearly throughout the project, and kept the work area as clean as possible. The quality and finished result exceeded our expectations. They completed the project on schedule and made sure every detail was finished to a high standard. We couldn't be happier with the results and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and skilled contractor for a home renovation.

It was a pleasure to have Hernz Home Improvements renovate our Kitchen and Bathroom in our new house. Sebastian, Jess and Ignacio made the process go smoothly and were great to work with. They communicated with us every step of the way and project came out great! We would recommend them to others and will gladly use them again in the future.

I highly recommend Hernz Home Improvements for any home renovation project. Sebatian and his team were outstanding from start to finish. Their communication was excellent from the first contact all the way through job completion, and they consistently went above and beyond to make sure every detail was done right. Any issues we brought up were promptly addressed and fixed. The workmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail truly stood out throughout the entire project. Sebastian, Ignacio and Jessenia kept us informed every step of the way, answered all of our questions, and made the whole renovation process smooth and stress-free. The Hernz crew and their subcontractors were friendly, reliable, punctual, and extremely quality-oriented. The finished basement completely surpassed our expectations. The craftsmanship and final result transformed the space beautifully, and you can tell they genuinely take pride in their work. If you’re looking for a contractor that delivers exceptional quality, great service, and outstanding communication, look no further than Hernz Home Improvements. You will be pleased. Thanks, Hernz. See you on the next project!

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say, and looking back now there were some red flags that we initially ignored in our excitement about the project. What felt like customization at the beginning, upon reviewing their social media posts and seeing our finished product, is just clearly a copy/paste of their preferred template that they use on most clients. Some of our preferences and areas of focus were ignored, or we were told that it could not be changed from what they had selected for us. The dedicated and customer-focused attitude we saw during the initial sales pitch vanished the moment the project required real accountability. Sebastian's refusal to take responsibility for material defects and property damage, as the owner and general manager, turned what should have been an exciting renovation into a deeply disappointing experience. It is impossible to view this through "rose-colored glasses" when we paid full price for a professional service, yet were met with constant deflections and unprofessionalism when issues arose. While the company simply moves on to their next project, our daily lives remain impacted by their lack of follow-through for months. For the incredibly high price point in using this design company compared to other local contractors, we expected a much better overall experience. It is now May 8, 2026 and we are still without a functional oven in our brand new, paid in full kitchen, and dealing directly with the appliance supplier ourselves to get it resolved. Our contracted end date was March 6, we are now over two months past that date.

Working with Hernz Home Improvements was a great experience as a first-time renovator, their service and work was exceptional and I’d gladly use their services again. I used their full service (end-to-end management) for a Master Bath and Powder Room remodel and their team took the time to ensure that all of my requests were addressed thoroughly and with care. As someone that has never gone through this experience, not only did the use of their end-to-end management help relieve the stress of managing the details, their system gave me great comfort in knowing that I’ve entrusted this process with great professionals. Sebastian was extremely thorough in explaining their work, addressing my needs in preparation for my renovation project. The helpful education of the overall process and the capabilities of his team, helped me to determine the best approach for my project. Working with Jess to develop a design and bring my ideas to life made a tremendous difference with this project. I would have never had the time nor would I have considered the details to plan my wants and needs (tiles, paint, lighting, etc.). In addition to Sebastian and Jess getting me started with the project, Ignacio and his team were able to really add the finishing touches with the work done. It was a pleasure working with their team, they delivered such great results. I cannot express enough how well planned, considerate and thoughtful this team was and their quality of work simply matches their work practices. Again, if you are considering using their services, I’d recommend letting them assist you in full. If I am ever in the need for a renovation, I will be more than happy to use them again and encourage anyone seeking this work to give them a call.

Hernz Home Improvement recently renovated our master bathroom, and the results are stunning. From our very first meeting with Sebastian, we knew we were in good hands. The project was well-organized, with clear timelines and regular communication throughout. We always felt informed and supported during the process. Sebastian, Jess, and the entire team were not only highly skilled, but genuinely kind, respectful, and easy to work with. They took great care to protect our space and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable while the work was being done. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail were top-notch. What impressed us most was the thoughtful design from Jess—she took our ideas and made them even better, all while staying within budget. The finished bathroom reflects exactly what we hoped for: clean, elegant, and functional. We’d gladly work with Hernz again and recommend them without hesitation. They truly care about the work they do and the people they do it for.

The Hernz team did an amazing job from start to finish with our bathroom renovation project. It can be stressful and overwhelming choosing a contractor and renovation choices, but Sebastian and his team did everything to make the process as relaxing as possible. From the first estimate, job site inspection, design choices and finalizing the scope, everything was done with care, professionalism and with efficiency. The final scope was within the original cost estimate. Jessenia did an amazing job with helping us select the tile, finishes and accessories for our bathroom, we only made very minimal tweaks for personal preference and budget. The construction crews were hard working and passionate about every detail. Ignacio is an excellent program manager, kept us in the loop with every step, what work would be done on what day. Not only do we have a beautiful new bathroom that is both functional and luxurious, but it was constructed within the scheduled time and within the cost of the contract, with no cost surprises or delays. If I could envision how I would want a major renovation project to go, they executed to that or better. We hope to be able to complete more home projects in the future and will most definitely be going with Hernz again.

Our new kitchen looks great !! General Contractor Ignatio was professional and efficient in addressing our needs. All of the workers entering our home were courteous and cleaned up the work area promptly

Sebastian and his team are absolutely exceptional! As a designer, I have had the pleasure of working closely with them, and the experience has been nothing short of outstanding. Their level of organization and adherence to timelines is truly impressive, ensuring that every aspect of the project progresses smoothly and efficiently. Beyond their professional skills, what sets them apart is their genuine dedication to the work. They consistently demonstrate a deep commitment to understanding and addressing the unique needs of their clients, making those needs their top priority. Their enthusiasm, collaborative spirit, and unwavering focus on excellence make them not just excellent professionals but also wonderful people to work with.

Hire this Company! Hiring Hernz Home Improvements to do a complete basement remodel was the best decision; zero regrets! After interviewing a couple other potential contractors, Sebastian was a breath of fresh air. Upon our first meeting he arrived very professional, honest, and most importantly, he listened; providing experienced opinions, but never overriding our wants (as we had experienced with other interviews). Hernz is a one stop shop as they have kitchen cabinet experts, as well as an architect to assist with design. Before we signed or paid a single penny, we were visited 3 times by the team to put together renderings. Once the project started it was like clockwork. The team started by assisting to move some heavy gym equipment out of the way and then continued to show up every day installing the framing, electrical and plumbing. Hernz arranged all the town permit applications and inspections. It's important to note, that because we have a septic system, we were initially advised that we could not put a bathroom in our basement. Sebastian was very patient with us as we had to apply for additional permits from the State of NJ. Although this pushed the completion timeline back, we never felt pressured to move forward without the permits or skip the bathroom all together. Picking finishing materials can be a bit overwhelming for a full basement remodel; what type of floor, trim, doors, cabinets, bathroom tile, etc.? Hernz made this part easy by providing a list of experienced vendors. Apart from the open space with kitchenette and half bath, we also have a large enclosed gym, an office and plenty of unfinished storage. You will have no regrets hiring Hernz Home Improvements; I look forward to our next project with them. Although the entire team was excellent, I want to give a special shout out to Luis, Juan and Ignacio who really perfected the final project with their meticulous attention to detail. Now I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves…

We chose Hernz Home Improvements for our bathroom remodel as well as flooring in the hallways/foyer and could not be happier with our decision. We had interviewed about 8 other companies in the area and all promised to do the job quicker & some cheaper — however — this was a great representation of ‘you get what you pay for’. Had we went with any of these other companies our job would for sure have been rushed, not done in a way that we would have longevity out of it and none of them agreed to pull the necessary permits needed for the project which our township required. Sebastian knew the importance of doing the project both professionally as well as ethically and we knew that we were in good hands with him & his team. Working with a company who has integrity & is honest is just as important as someone who does great work. Our bathroom needed to go down to the studs & be completely re-done. Sebastian, Gilberto, Ignacio and the entire team were amazing. Every day they arrived on time (early), prepped the area and cleaned when they were finished. Especially with our dog in the home we were concerned about nails etc and they were sure to clean up everything each day. They sent a list of the items we needed to purchase and connected us with General Plumbing Supply for the plumbing fixtures as well as Nefliz Glass Doors for the shower doors. We worked with the Tile Shop for the tile and were happy we went with their recommended professionals. Sebastian & Gilberto would check in daily on the project to be sure it was what we expected & if we requested any changes they made sure to have it all done within 24hrs with no stress on us at all. They even made it so we didn’t have to get a hotel room while the floors were done and created wooden walk ways over the area for us! Our bathroom is now stunning and a room of the home we appreciate rather than despise (the before was SO bad…not only was it outdated, but it also had a mold issue). We look forward to using Hernz Home Improvements again for future projects!

I cannot recommend the Hernz team more highly. Every detail from my concept to the finished project was handled with the greatest care and attention to detail, making making my dream bathroom a reality. The work was done meticulously and on time, and any questions I had were addressed immediately. It was a great pleasure doing business with this father and son team.

I am quite pleased with renovated bathroom the Hernz Home Improvement company completed. I turned out better then I ever expected with quality and beauty. The Hernz team were all professional in there approach and quite the gentlemen. I highly recommend them for your home improvement needs!

From start to finish the experience with Hernz Home Improvements has been nothing short of spectacular. Sebastian is very professional and knowledgeable. His crew are hardworking, courteous and respectful. I’ve already referred Hernz Home Improvements to my friends and plans for the next project is underway. Thank you.

After purchasing a home in need of some updating, Sebastian came highly recommended by several people in the area. From the quote process to project completion, Sebastian and Co. were always highly responsive and communicative at every step. The work performed was high quality and the workers professional in their approach. I can't believe that it is the same room! I will have no hesitation in using Handy Hernz again for future projects.

Great job by Sebastien and team in rennovating my basement . Job was done on time and within buget . Will definetly count on him on my next rennovation.

Hernz Home improvements did an excellent job on our bathroom which is beautiful as well as functional. They started on time and completed two days early. Sebastian or Gilberto came every day to check on the worker’s progress. Every day the workers cleaned up and vacuumed so our home was not a mess during construction We will be using them again on a second bathroom

Hernz Home improvements is my go to contractor for every project I do. They have done several projects for me and have delivered timely and quality work - with reasonable pricing! The team is great and I plan on calling them again for future projects. I highly recommend Hernz Home Improvement to anyone looking to have work completed in their home!

My #1 referral partner. Outstanding service and team, Handy Herz does not disappoint. I have had the pleasure of working with this team on a multitude of projects (5+) and will continue to do so.

We hired Handy Hernz to do our kitchen remodeling and they did not disappoint! Super high quality work with competitive pricing. Hardworking, trustworthy, and experienced. We will definitely be hiring them for any future projects!

First of all, I would like to thank Sebastian and his team for providing me and my clients top notch service. He responded and addressed all my questions and concerns in a professional and timely manner. I have worked with many home improvement companies and contractors in the past and they were mostly unprofessional, did not respond in a timely manner and very expensive. Handy Hernz, on the otherhand, provided the trifecta of great quality work, timely, and fair prices. I can not recommend this company enough. Thank you again, Sebastian / Handy Hernz!

Sebastian and his dad along with his crew recently renovated my bathroom. I was very pleased with the craftsmanship and professionalism. Crew worked long hours and even on the weekends to facilitate the 3 week deadline. Would highly recommend HH services.

Handy Hernz did a PHENOMENAL job when I asked them to provide me a quote to demo a wall in my living room. Then when I booked them for the job, they provided amazing insight, and expertise which let to the recommendation of an exposed beam and my wife and I absolutely loved the way it turned out! I highly recommend them, as we know a trustworthy GC is hard to come by, but Sebastian and his partner Gilberto are a class act. Thank you both as my home has been extremely enhanced thanks to the two of you.
