We moved from downtown to Glencoe into a mid-century fixer upper. The immediate concern was two bathrooms that needed gut rehabs. We met with several contractors and chose to work with Miro, though his quote was somewhat higher. Why? Because he LISTENED to us during our initial discussions and brought inventive/reasonable solutions to the challenges we faced. Plus, he had been referred to us by friends who had worked with Homewise Remodelers on multiple projects in 2 different houses. Great communication & problem solving: Miro responded almost instantly whenever I texted. He was very hands on throughout the process. We knew there would be things we would discover as the bathrooms were torn apart, and when that happened we were able to talk together and resolve several functional/design solutions that actually improved upon our original plans. Talented team: Mario and Andy did an amazing job. Detail oriented. Dependable. Friendly. True artisans. Both have worked a long time for Miro. Trustworthy: We had to be away for weeks at a time and we trusted Miro and his team to be in our home and continue with their work. Outstanding results: The bathroom remodels have set a high bar for us as we now concentrate on other areas of our home. We’re ecstatic with how these bathrooms look and function. Quality and value. Bonus: When we needed other things done on the house (roof, electrical), Miro suggested people and we ended up quoting/hiring them as well. VERY happy and relieved that the project is now complete and the results are outstanding. BUT we will miss seeing Miro, Mario and Andy and we wish them continued success.

From the initial consultation to the final touches on our home renovation project (3 bathrooms, stairs, hardwood flooring, and the kitchen) the experience was nothing short of outstanding. First and foremost, Miro's professionalism and expertise were evident right from the start. He took the time to listen to our ideas, offered valuable insights, and helped us refine our vision for our home. His attention to detail and commitment to delivering top-notch quality were truly impressive. Homewise Remodelers transformed our outdated kitchen into the kitchen of our dreams. The craftsmanship displayed by Miro’s team was impeccable and precise. The entire crew was courteous, respectful, and maintained a clean work environment throughout the project. They showed up early and stayed late and it was clear they really put pride in their work. It was also clear that Miro’s crew has a lot of experience and knowledge and they were able to guide me to do the designing aspect myself even though I really had little knowledge. This was fun for me and I was able to pick everything exactly how I wanted it. The project STAYED ON TIME AND WITHIN BUDGET. I was shocked when they actually finished the day they said they would. There were no hidden costs or unexpected surprises along the way. This level of transparency and reliability is a rarity in the industry. Communication with Miro was smooth and efficient. He kept us updated on the project's progress, addressed any questions or concerns promptly, and was always readily available to discuss any aspect of the project. Oh, where to start with Miri and the team at Homewise? Well I suppose the beginning is logical! Miro came to give us a quote for the bathroom remodel we THOUGHT we wanted, but rapidly pointed out some flaws in our plan, and had some really great ideas to add. His quote was far from the lowest but he was honest, and direct. He said ‘if you want this done cheap, I’m not your guy. But if you want it done right, no one will do it better’. Boy was he right! Miro told us the remodel would take twice as long as other contractors, but we are SO GLAD we chose Homewise. His crew, lead by the amazing Andy, were polite, thoughtful and meticulous. The job site (our HOME!) was spotless every night when they left, and their work astonishing. The attention to detail is obvious - just look at the cut lines in the painting - remarkable. Miro himself is an honest, direct and thoughtful business owner. He did what he said he would when he said he would. When he realised he’d accidentally slightly overcharged us he told us right away and refunded the money - we hadn’t even noticed! How many builders and contractors do THAT?!! If you want the cheapest job that is a hassle and corners cut left and right…I suspect Miro isn’t your guy. But if you want a job done right the first time and value honesty and integrity, we unconditionally and completely recommend Homewise.

This company surpassed our expectations, and we have already used them another time! Everything we asked *** and his team to do, they did, and they did surpassing our expectations. With the kitchen, I wanted to add another row of cabinets above the ones I currently had. He suggested that we remove the top row all together, and just add taller cabinets. This looked way better, was something I didn't think about, and I could not be more pleased with the result. The communication from the team is excellent, and they kept their projected schedule. We also had them redo our upstairs bathroom and hallway, a near gut on the bathroom and part of an old chimney removed. (The chimney removal required a ceiling repair, floor repair, and wall repair.). The bathroom and hallway look gorgeous. The tile looks great, the painting is perfect, and all of the finishes look like they came out of a magazine. They also put some lighting in our ceiling on our top floor in a bedroom and the hallway. It looks great, and once again, the advice for which lighting to pick was spot on. Later, we had them install a ventless gas fireplace in the basement, which is tiled. *** suggested the placement based on his experience. Once again, he was spot on. We had to have our basement shower redone because it was leaking (from a previous horrible contracting team). This job also came out great. I love patterned tile, and the worker noticed two things. One, there was a hidden pattern in the tile, so he took the time to plan each shower wall to accommodate. Two, he noticed that one box was slightly lighter in color than the others. I immediately returned the box. We have had multiple contractors in our 100 year old house over the years, and we have had some nightmare experiences. This experience could not have been more positive. We are so pleased with the results!! We highly recommend this company. A+

Mirek is honest, responsive and reliable. His guys do excellent work. He won't be the cheapest quote, but he won't be the highest either. I used Homewise to renovate my bathroom and am very happy with the work and overall experience. I will call them again for any renovation project.

Working with Homewise Remodelers, Inc. was an amazing experience. They assisted us from planning to finish. Miro and his crew were professional and efficient in every aspect of our kitchen remodeling project. We remodeled a condominium kitchen in downtown Chicago and yet we live in Wisconsin. The project communication during all phases of the project was timely and clear and concise. We knew what and when steps in the project process were going to happen. Given supply delays due to Covid we were in full knowledge of what was going to happen and when. The Homewise team stayed on budget and finished the project on time. We always knew what was going to take place and when. so much so that we never had to take additional trips to Chicago to check on the project. I would highly recommend them for any projects that the readers of this review may have and we will use them again for any future projects we may have.

Working with Homewise Remodelers was an amazing experience from bid to finish. My wife and I had just bought a condo 4 months prior. We had bought it knowing that the kitchen and flooring needed to be remodeled. We had never gone through working with a general contractor before so we meticulously researched. Everyone told us that contractors were unreliable, never finish on time, and expect to pay up to 20% over the initial quote. Going in with this expectation, I spent hours looking for Chicago contractors on Angie's List and Thumbtack. We settled on 7 different contractors to get bids from. The entire job cost was quoted to us from $30,000 to $80,000 depending on the contractor. Mirek (Homewise Remodeling) was head and feet above all of the other contractors we interviewed in every way. He was the fastest to come in to survey. He was very big picture and honest upfront. His communication skills were unmatched by all of the other contractors we met. He was meticulous with detail and talked us out of doing things in a more expensive way. We received computer comps from the 3 final contractors we liked. Only Mirek's had every single detail we discussed and was spot-on. The others missed half the things we said and worse, their measurements were off. We initially were thinking of going with the cheapest contractor but quickly realized after talking to them for a week that they were extremely unreliable and were going to likely overcharge things on the back end and not do things correctly (which I found was the case in many of their reviews on Thumbtack. They either asked for more money or quit on the project halfway through). Homewise Remodelers quoted less than the 50th percentile of quote prices. So Homewise was not the cheapest choice but also definitely not even close to the most expensive quote we got. But based on what I know now, it was the best choice in terms of being done right, timely, with the highest quality, and with no surprise costs. You get what you pay for. When it came to doing the job, Mirek used very thorough and timely subcontractors for flooring. Mirek would frequently show up at our condo to troubleshoot things with the cabinet installation guys. We discovered that the floor-to-ceiling height on one side of our kitchen was 1.5" off from the opposite side. Mirek planned with the carpenters to sightly grade the cabinets across the room in such a way that the counter-tops ended up perfectly balanced across, and appeared flush from floor to ceiling as if the condo was actually built level. The attention to detail was astounding from start to finish. Homewise Remodelers finished our project 1 week early, for exactly the price quoted (plus $1000) for changes we wanted mid-project), and it came out better than we imagined. We had such an amazing experience with them that 1.5 years later we knew we had to hire them to do our bathroom renovation as well.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would do so. The owner of this company, Mirek (Miro), was fabulous. From the first time I contacted him through the end of the project, Miro responded quickly every time I called, emailed or sent him a text. He is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. He helped me with the design of both bathrooms and made great suggestions on what could be done. He has many resources for materials but there was absolutely no pressure from him to utilize any of his sources. Those I did use were fantastic and reasonably priced. The workers, Mario and Andy, were terrific. They were friendly and respectful and were as quiet as they could possibly be, given they completely gutted and rebuilt 2 bathrooms on the second floor of my home. There wasn’t anything those 2 guys couldn’t do from plumbing to electric to construction. They were as meticulous with their work as though they were working in their own homes. They cleaned up every day before they left for the day. Miro and his team showed up when they said they would, finished the project in a timely manner and responded to every question I asked or special request I made. They are so talented and knowledgeable, when they encountered a major plumbing problem, that was no fault of theirs, they were able to repair the issue without the need to bring in a plumber. I can’t say enough about how fine a job Miro and his team did for me. You may find a cheaper company, but you won’t get the quality that Miro provided and at a very fair price. I will definitely call Miro again in the future.

Could not have been happier with how this entire (large and complex) rehab was managed. This is the 3rd major rehab I have done over the years (one house, another condo) and this, by far, was the best experience. What I appreciated most was Miro's hands-on involvement throughout the entire project. His advice on areas of how to save money (and still get what I wanted) to being on-site constantly to oversee the work. And, the attention to detail and quality of work was well worth every penny. I spoke (interviewed) several contractors before starting this project. Homewise was not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. I really feel that the money I spent was well worth every penny when I factor in the quality of work, the attention to detail, and Miro's ongoing guidance and commitment to ensuring I was getting what I wanted. The place was recently completed and I am excited to move it. It is simply beautiful thanks to Miro and Homewise. You can not go wrong working with this top-notch group.

Mirek and his crew were amazing! Very professional and the price was fair. His crew was punctual and very neat. The finished project was unbelievable. I am getting so many compliments on my new kitchen.

The teams were great and they were worked very hard. They were polite and would reach out to us to determine how we wanted items to get closed out. We would talk to them and take their input and also we would make recantations as well. For our kitchen, they first ripped out all of our old cabinets. Then they measured for our quartz counters for the kitchen and for the up stairs bath room quartz. The teams installed our new cabinets, installed our skink, garbage disposals, the faucet, door handles and LED lights. For the bathroom they laid the tile, bathroom tiles, a new toilet, a storage unit, a new cabinet. They also painted.

Mirek and his team were absolutely amazing. We initially hired Homewise Remodelers to tackle our master bathroom. The final product was exactly what we were hoping for, the work was impeccable, the crew was always respectful and punctual, and everything finished on schedule. We were so happy with the work they did that we decided to hire them again to redo a bathroom in our basement and refresh our laundry room. If you are looking for an extremely trustworthy contractor that gets the job done beautifully, hire Homewise Remodelers! We will always use Mirek and his team for our future remodeling needs.
