Hunter Kitchen & Bath

I now have the spa-like bathroom I have always imagined thanks to Hunter Kitchen & Bath! From the very first meeting until the end of the project, it was a wonderful experience. Go see them if you are looking to do a bathroom or kitchen.

While Hunter Kitchen & Bath and Chadwick Hunter will promise beautiful designs, trust and confidence in a builder's capabilities as well as basic honesty are even more key. In my experience with Hunter Kitchen & Bath and Chadwick Hunter ("HBB" & "Hunter", respectively), I found this lacking. I contracted with Hunter Kitchen & Bath in the summer of 2024 to complete a bathroom renovation. The project began in late 2024, and some concern arose just before the project began. There was a request for a substantial deposit. This was explained as a need to preorder materials and reserve the time of subcontractors. Given the recommendation of my plumber and a desire to move this along, I agreed. However, further concerns grew. When the project began, a promised "project bible" was not furnished after several requests. A few days into the project, Hunter informed me that demolition was more extensive and would require an upcharge. Soon thereafter, I was informed of an issue with floor joists and a need to replace subflooring. A more careful review by me, revealed other issues that likely would result in upcharging relating to insulation, ceiling joists, and HVAC. My contract with HBB allowed for a termination, which I decided to exercise after I was not able to satisfy my growing concerns with Hunter. I then discovered that almost none of the money that I had paid to HBB and Hunter had been applied for deposits on materials or to retain subcontractors, but had been pocketed by HKB and Hunter. This came after a reassurance to my plumber that this was not how HKB or Hunter did business. After some back and forth, I entered into a settlement with HKB where we agreed HKB would refund approximately $35,000 of the approximately $55,000 paid to HKB. The settlement has been finalized and filed as a judgment against HKB. At Hunter's request, I had agreed that the refund could be paid in 30 days. At 30 days, I was informed by Hunter's counsel that Hunter and HKB were experiencing significant financial issues, could not pay the settlement and judgment agreed a few weeks earlier, and indicated that payment would be made over time. To date, I have received a single $1000 payment on the settlement that Hunter and HKB had agreed and negotiated through counsel. Counsel for HKB has since withdrawn from the matter. I would caution anyone considering doing business with Hunter or HKB to be very careful in its dealings with HKB or Hunter. This is a contractor who, over and over in my case, has not done what he had promised and agreed to. This is not someone who I would recommend retaining for any construction or remodeling. I also question whether HKB or Hunter is someone who should be permitted to conduct business by local municipal building departments, local or state consumer protection agencies, or permitted to advertise on Google or similar services for projects that he is unable to perform, whether intentionally or not.

I called for a consultation and found the Hunter Kitchen & Bath team to be incredibly knowledgeable. Their attention to detail is evident and they limit the number of projects per year to ensure quality results. They are selective with their trade partners which demonstrates to me their commitment to quality results. I regret not reaching out to them prior to my latest renovation project but they will definitely be my 1st call for next project.

Total Kitchen, Laundry & Powder Room Renovation We absolutely love the professionalism expressed by Chad all throughout this project. From the planning of the project to the actual execution we appreciated his engagement, constant guidance and attention to details. The end results speak greatly of his approach and the great team that he brought to see our renovation till completion. Acted as a design specialist, provided ample samples and ideas and contributed to bring our initial thoughts to a final solution presentation that clearly showed the final layout of each area, technical specifications and product images and material samples. This helped us visualize what the final results would be and made us feel comfortable about our selections. We loved Chad after he came in to talk through two bathrooms we needed completely redone (one half bath on the first floor and a full guest bath on the third). He was easy to talk to, honest, and obviously had an eye for high quality work. They finished both bathrooms a few months later. I was pregnant and they worked hard to ensure everything was done before our second son arrived - amazing! The bathrooms are gorgeous, and Chad works with the best people. We worked with Susan Rains to scope out the design of both rooms, and we loved her so much we hired her for our first floor dining room design. Doug was our project manager on-site the whole time and he was a true gem. High quality work, professional demeanor, and again very easy to talk to. Mitchell assisted with all the admin portions of the project was was appreciated (including the binder with the full details of the project, which will come in handy when we sell the house). We would definitely hire them again!

Chad Hunter and Bruce Hagan (contractor) Remolded my kitchen with granite tops, farmhouse sink, under the cabinet lighting, backsplash install , new wood flooring , also cut out part of the wall. I have been apart of the process for thousands of bathroom remodels over the years and I can easily say that my experience with Chad ranks up there with the elite in the industry. He pays great attention to DETAIL, provides superb deigns and layouts, and most importantly, he is HONEST.

Overall, Chad did a remarkable job in helping us as a client through the process of redesigning our master bath. After initial contact, he explained the overall process and was very open to questions. He was also forthcoming regarding the rough cost to renovate the bath, so that we weren't wasting our time (or his) and also minimizing sticker shock when the initial quote was obtained. Chad explained all the standard features as well as the more extravagant/latest technology/latest craze offerings for consideration in the project so that we understood what was possible/available and then let us determine what was right for us; he also offered guidance on what would and would not work both functionally and aesthetically. When the initial quote was higher than we had budgeted for, we valued the options that Chad provided to reduce project costs back within our means. Chad is very knowledgeable about the product lines and models available beyond merely what can be obtained from specs. He seems to truly enjoy his job, which becomes evident in the quality of his work as well in his interactions with us as a client. In order to support the limited times that we were available to meet with him (generally only in evenings and on weekends), Chad was flexible with his time in order to make it work for us. Chad also kept in touch periodically throughout the construction phase of the project, which provides evidence of his desire for the project to turn out as desired and gave us as clients some continuity from beginning to end of the project. Chad even assisted us in changing a piece of purchased hardware during the construction phase but prior to installation once we saw the hardware in person rather than from a picture. Chad was also very responsive to emails. The only area for improvement that I can offer is in regard to the paint color and tile grout color - we had to make late/last minute decisions on the colors or the scheduled work would be delayed. We believe Chad to be a valuable asset to and excellent representative of Volpe and would enjoy having Chad support us again in the future.
