Awesome group to work with! They took the time to learn about our lifestyle and family and designed a kitchen around this. We absolutely love our new kitchen and how it works with us instead of us trying to work with it. As usual with renos, sometimes things don't go according to plan. If we were not satisfied with something, they went into action to adjust things until we were happy with the outcome. In some cases, changes resulted in better outcomes. For example, there was an issue with the ordering of the backsplash that we picked out. They were able to find a tile that we ended up liking better than the original tile at no additional expense to us. They were always patient, professional and accommodating and worked within our budget. We would highly recommend this company to others and will use them for the next stage of renos for our home. Be forewarned that their work is so good that we ended up including additional renos (e.g. redoing the hardwood floors, baseboards...). Not having this done would have taken away from the beauty of their work.

I chose to have a consultation with Krista after I had done much research on Calgary designers and project managers. I was impressed by her web page, gallery of photos, great reviews and her desire to get to know you and understand what it is we were trying to achieve. After Krista came for our first consultation , we were pretty convinced that we would hire her for the job. She is very personable, very knowledgeable and has a sharp eye for design and all the details. Krista took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve and provided excellent suggestions and even possible changes that we had not thought of. After multiple visits and meetings, KHD provided a project plan and budget covering the timing and cost. The design team provided tasteful options for all design choices and helped us work through them. Our project started on time and the trades came as scheduled, and on time. Krista has trades she has worked with over the years and they were excellent. They were were professional, thorough, tidy and polite. Because of her thorough design and planning phases there were no surprises. Our renovation finished on time and on cost. The entire team was excellent and they did a fabulous job. We are so pleased with everything and would highly recommend Krista and her team to anyone planning a renovation.

From design to completion Krista Hermanson Design was very thorough, thoughtful and professional. The project team delivered the promised design. Workmanship was top-notch. As with any renovation certain issues were uncovered during demolition but were quickly and professionally addressed. We were well-informed of the construction schedule and the project finished on time. Considering the magnitude of the change (removing bearing walls, rerouting heating ducts, and rewiring the majority of the main floor) the project went smoothly and everyone all who see it complement the design and the work. It is like we're living in a new house. We would recommend Krista Hermanson Design without reservation. The "Hygge" is genuine!

Krista and her team carried out painting plus minor renovations, in my new home. Krista is very knowledgeable in design and project planning, and once the plan was in place, she kept me informed of progress, possible delays, and changes in cost. My fiance and I had an amazing experience with Krista Hermanson Design. From the very first moment we met Krista we knew she was the one for the job. She is extremely diligent and passionate with her work. We just bought our first home and wanted to update the main floor to something more our style. We renovated the kitchen, installed beautiful light fixtures, fresh paint all throughout and updated our coat area by the back door. We loved working with Krista so much that we asked her to furnish our living room as well. Krista, Judea and Magdalena treated us like family, we really couldn't have asked for a better team to work with. We will definitely work with Krista again in the future and stay close friends.

We hired Krista and her team to update our tired bedroom and to create for us a special place to retreat and relax. Krista accomplished all of that and more! She was very good at asking the right questions and she really listened carefully. She presented beautiful choices to us (with snacks), she stayed within our budget and delivered on time as promised. While we were out of the country she and her team came into our home and did the installation. What a beautiful beautiful 'love nest' we came home to! We were just delighted! It was simply perfect down to every last detail including the bedside gift of champagne and chocolates. Not only have we found a very talented designer but I feel we have made a lovely friend.

From the moment we first shook hands with Krista Hermanson we knew we had found our perfect partner. Our project was a complete renovation of a late 1970's four-level split. It was a total gut-job; demolished back to the studs. Right from the beginning, she seemed to intuitively know what we wanted the house to look like. Krista understood our home philosophy, our lifestyle, respected our must-haves, gently nudged us away from ridiculous ideas, and ensured we were comfortable at all stages. She is gifted at blending the affordable and trust-fund-taste to land somewhere one can feel they have indulged....but not over-indulged! Her joyful, exuberant attitude certainly took the sting out of the days when we suffered from "renovation-fatigue". We had an amazing experience with Krista, Magdalena and Judea!! We have a teeny tiny master bedroom that we were looking to transform and maximize space in, and they definitely lived up to the challenge. Upon their advice, I found it helpful to first make an Ideabook, and then after surveying and measuring our space, they came back with multiple design ideas. We were able to choose from the options provided to create a beautiful new look for our bedroom. I might add that I was 8+ months pregnant and we had a really tight deadline :) but they were efficient, organized and the project was completed on time. The makeover included a new dresser, light fixture, window treatments, carpet, duvet with pillows, nightstands, lamps and my favorite feature - the Stikwood wall covering.
