Jim Martin and his coworkers and subcontractors removed our 1925 original mud/laundry room, then rebuilt in its place a larger laundry room and handicap-accessible full bathroom. Our home is set within a national and local Historic District, so design and materials needed to meet historic guidelines. Beyond the residual side-effects of hurricanes and tornadoes that occurred in NC amidst our multi-month project, and my admittedly cautious decision-making about various bits and pieces, the project was completed in a reasonable time frame. Long-time staff were consistently cordial and attentive. Most of all, we remain impressed with Jim Martin's pursuit of extensive personal education and certifications in multiple aspects of construction -- from financial decision-making to materials choices to steady employment of skilled crafts-persons. Reflecting on the whole construction experience, I consistently felt that Jim Martin and his team intentionally strove to appreciate our particular budget, purposes and preferences.

We had a complete kitchen remodel (wall removal, window replacement, hardwoods, drywall, new cabinets, counters, etc). Jim Martin and his team did a great job; very professional, attentive and responsive to any questions and requests. They were very dependable, honest, always available and most kind and thoughtful. Jim and Ray made sure the job was done well. We love our new kitchen!

We enjoyed working with Jim and his company. He took our ideas and helped us achieve what we wanted. The job took a bit longer than we expected but Jim backs all of his work and has been back several times to fix small odds and ends. We would recommend him to anyone.

My husband and I cannot express how pleased we are of the professionalism with Martin Construction along with every one of his subcontractors. All performed expertise workmanship and this opinion comes from some particular people. We were at peace with all the workers that entered in and out of our home. Jim was very much of a perfectionist down to his crew. Each day the job was cleaned in orderly manner. It has been a pleasure working with this team for our home make over. Working with this team has definitely felt like " good-old fashion way of doing business".

Awesome job - my house is a completely different beautiful place. I can't say enough good things about them. I had wood floors restored, bathroom, kitchen, pretty much a full remodel.

I had a client who had a fly-by-night contractor build an addition in 2003. We discovered it was not permitted when we went to sell it. Martin Construction worked with us to get this addition to meet code. They met the time limit so my client could close on time. It was a pleasure working with Jim and Ray. My clients appreciated their honesty and kindness. They are the most kind and thoughtful people to work with. I will certainly use them again!!!

I can't speak highly enough of my experience with Ray and Jim. They are both very kind and profession people. Every project that I have had the personal pleasure of working with them own has been very smooth sailing. They are reliable contractors who provide top-notch service time and time again. I consider them friends just as much as I do business associates.

Jim (and Ray) are honest and dependable . neat and clean construction . their subs are skilled, and respectful while working in our home . Jim is the kind of person that doesn't try to maximize his profits and truly wants the homeowner happy while charging a fair price.Jim returns to inspect and correct anytime I have called. I will certainly use him again in the future.

Jim Martin and his crew were extremely meticulous and timely with our repairs. Jim had great suggestions and made our porch door/ side entrance look great. He also coordinated with the flooring company and the door manufacturer for some follow up issues. Jim Martin made sure the job was done well.

Jim Martin was recommended by a woman in our neighborhood who'd had trouble finding a contractor willing to take time for the small jobs she needed. We had a similar issue when one contractor visited, but failed to give a follow up estimate and upon our query said he didn't have time to fit us in. Funny how he failed to say that in the first place. So after the recommendation, we contacted Jim. He was respectful and honest with us, and I never felt he treated us less because ours was not a "big" job. Jim's team enclosed our small back porch area, replacing one old door and adding a second. They installed pet doors to both doors at our request. They also built a ramp which we needed for our 13-year old lab who was starting to struggle to use the steps. The dog loves the ramp and both cat and dog happily use the pet doors. This was exactly what we asked for. Jim's whole team was great to work with: very polite and efficient. Jim came to the house personally to discuss his estimate and details of the job, and also several times during the work process. We have now asked Jim to install a new patio door onto our deck and will continue to use him for future projects. Our next will be screening in our back patio! I'm very happy to write this review for Jim and his team and will continue to use their services.

Jim and Ray are wonderful to work with! They have been so professional and amazingly easy to work with. We left our kitchen remold in their hands and we couldn't be more satisfied. We hope to work with them on several more projects in the future. We love our new kitchen!!
