Merit In Home

We couldn't be more grateful for the incredible work our interior designer did on our house. From the first design plans to the final touches of furniture and decor, every detail was thoughtfully planed and brought together. With any major project, problems and obstacles arise. Emily and the Merit team worked through these challenges and solved with the best outcome. Emily listened to our concerns and visions. She took our mix of ideas and blended them into a home that feels like us.... relaxed and warm, yet polished and sophisticated. We absolutely love the end result and highly recommend Emily Holley and the Merit team!

Renovation projects ae fraught with uncertainty. You never know what you will find when you open walls etc., and what will happen as the project progresses. Merit's construction crews and contractors did good work and were amenable to our input and requests as the projects were under way. Emily Holley not only produced responsive designs, she worked with Kevin (last name forgotten) to insure that work was as timely as possible and well done.

We hired Merit to design and update our 35 year old kitchen, mud room, and master bath, along with painting and pop corn ceiling removal in other portions of the house. We are super happy with the results and the constant communications throughout the 4 month project. Emily and her team walked us through the deign choices and kept us constantly updated. Every project will have a surprise or delays due to unforeseen items, but we were kept informed every step of the way. I especially appreciated their attention to detail and response to our requests and observations through out the entire process, as I know I can be a very "detail" oriented person at times.

Katie and the Merit team did a great job with the stair runner and area rug. Installation of the runner was perfect and gorgeous. Thank you John and Nick! Katie came out to make sure everything was perfect. You can't go wrong with this company.

We had wanted to update our 1998 kitchen for some time; finding the right designer and contract firm was the dilemma. Having undertaken a large renovation in the past, we knew we needed someone who was on top of the entire process and was going to be creative, organized, methodical and always thinking 3 steps ahead. We found this in Merit's designer Emily Holley who along with the contractor Travis Johnson let nothing slip through the cracks. From the initial consultation, design input and working with our ideas until the last subcontractor finished his job, the entire process went very smoothly and efficiently. Emily kept everyone on schedule, kept us up to date about the comings and goings and Travis showed up at every turn checking to be sure all was being done the way it should. Emily had great design suggestions, helped with selections and was always calm, pleasant and a delight to work with. If something even began to go sideways she and Travis dealt with it immediately. Choosing to undertake such a project during a pandemic presented many challenges, not the least of which was supply chain disruption and lack of information about when ordered components would show up. It took longer to get things done because of this but it still felt orderly and well-planned. We did a partial renovation of our kitchen, removing 1 island and replacing it with 2 as well as various updates to cabinet and appliance layouts. It would probably have been easier to do a gut rehab. Even though there was more planning involved in working around existing components, it went very smoothly. We also replaced a fireplace with tile surround and mantle that included built-in cabinetry and updated the laundry room as well. From demolition to floor refinishing every subcontractor they sent into our home was polite, pleasant, hard-working and responsible. A five star review was earned many times over in the course of this project and I would not hesitate to undertake any other project with this team.

We hired Merit to handle our Kitchen remodel (total demo and rebuild) along with flooring in other parts of house - - if we could give them more than 5 stars, we would! Just fantastic experience all around. From the initial consultation through the entirety of the project, Merit handled everything with extreme professionalism and top notch communication -- we really couldn't have asked for better. And the end results ......... OMG -- just incredible! All of the people who played a role in our remodel did fantastic work. Countertops are just unbelievable / cabinets and all the fixtures/appliances and such - just fantastic across the board. Flooring is just amazing / the LVT makes the space feel so much bigger! We will defiantly be working with Merit in the near future on bathroom remodels. I highly recommend them to anybody who is looking to remodel - you wont regret it!

Team was knowledgeable and thorough, lots of components to ensure a great result. Subcontractors were skilled and courteous. Would definitely recommend.

Emily with Merit in Aiken did a great job with our kitchen demolition and remodel. She was thorough and kept us up to date with the contractors and we always had a schedule so we knew what was happening for the week. She helped us pick out everything from the floors, to counters, to cabinets, to hardware. We are walking away from this very large project with absolutely no complaints and a beautiful, more functional space for our family.

Emily and her colleagues did a super job and finished on time in the middle of the Covid pandemic Our questions and issues received prompt, responsive and helpful replies. We did a complete rebuild of the kitchen and family room as well as master bath gut and upgrade. Emily also oversaw refinishing all of the hardwood floors and replaced the kitchen/family room and master bath floors. They painted the entire house and then deep cleaned it. The cleaning crew were not supervised by Emily and were superficial. All of this was done between December and May with us living 800 miles away for most of it.

We did a complete kitchen / dining room remodel that included removing a wall and completely “gutting” the space down to the studs. We are so happy we chose Merit to do the job. It was a “one stop shop” experience from design, planning, construction to completion. Travis and Emily were extremely responsive during the entire process. Their expertise, skill, and advice led us to decisions that resulted in a dream kitchen! I can recommend Merit without hesitation,

Merit completed remodeling my master bath in May, 2019. I am very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and love my new bathroom! The process was made easier by the designer, Emily, and the contractor, Travis. They were both pleasant to work with, professional, and very diligent in all of our dealings. Emily helped me make decisions by showing me options but listened when I had questions and opinions. Travis checked on the work constantly and made sure to follow up on any of my questions. I would certainly employ this company for other work.

Merit just finished my kitchen and master bath renovation. I absolutely love it!! Emily Holley helped me through this process with great ideas and advise. The contractors used were professional and prompt. I highly recommend Merit!

We had a complete gut of our kitchen, beginning mid June and finishing mid August. This was by far the easiest renovation project we have ever been a part of-Travis and Emily were involved from start to finish. Very professional, organized and extremely easy to work with! Any questions or concerns we had were swiftly addressed. I found the quality of work outstanding along with their work ethic. We will definitely call on them again for a couple of future projects-living room, and master bath remodel.

Merit performed a complete renovation of our master bathroom and partial renovation of a second bathroom. We are extremely satisfied with the results. We highly recommend designer Emily Holley. She did an excellent job working with us to develop designs from our concepts that worked in our smaller size bathrooms. She also did a great job keeping us informed of construction plans and schedules, and in coordinating the installations. Construction issues that arose were promptly and adequately addressed by Emily and Merit contractors. We would for sure work with Emily and Merit on future jobs. It was a real joy to work with Merit and Emily. I was looking to remodel my kitchen and re-floor part of the downstairs area of my home. Emily was recommended to me, and she did a great job from coming up with a design, to coordinating the scheduling, to handling last minute client requests/questions and job boo-boo's. She was always available for questions and concerns and handled everything quickly, competently and professionally. I would highly recommend Merit for any project work. They were on-time, on-schedule, and stayed very much within my budget.

Had a complete remodel of my kitchen including removal of wall, new cabinets and flooring. Emily did an excellent job with the design and coordination with all the contractors involved in the remodel. I highly recommend Merit!!

We love our new bathroom and bedroom floors. Emily, Travis and John did a great job helping us design the project and select products. All of the contractors were courteous and professional and the work was completed in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Merit! Thanks!

Recently had a very disappointing experience with Merit flooring. Initially the process started well, our church was able to get a quote and the person providing the quote was very helpful... We were satisfied with the quote and paid the full price of the carpet and installation on the 2nd of March. We were told that it would take about a week for the carpet to come in. Here we are 2 weeks later and we had not heard a word from Merit. After several calls we finally got in touch with someone and we were told that the carpet would not be in until the 11th of April. We were not given the courtesy of being called to get an updated status and I believe that had we not been persistent in trying to get some answers, we would still be waiting. Instead of being offered any alternative options, we were smugly told that "you can get your money back". What we wanted was carpet and maybe good customer service...

My husband I hired Merit to do a total remodel of our master bathroom in our 120-year-old home. We could not have had a better experience! From taking our unorganized ideas and making it into a beautiful design to keeping us updated every step of the way, we were continually impressed. I would recommend their services to anyone. We are doing some work in every room in our house and look forward to working with Travis, Emily, and the whole team again!

My husband and I are so pleased with our bathroom renovations. Emily was a pleasure to design with even letting us perform some of the tasks along the way. All of the subcontractors were fabulous sharing their professional insights and ideas readily to ensure the best outcome. All is just as we had envisioned. Can't wait to let them update the next couple of bathrooms!

Excellent demolition and construction work! Superb and professional bath design and project planning. Customer was very satisfied with remodeling work and schedule

Emily was fantastic. She made the entire project easy and enjoyable. The project was finished ahead of schedule. We have recommended Merit to other friends for their kitchen or bathroom remodel.

Wonderful experience working with Emily. We took this bathroom down to the studs, tearing everything out and moving one of the walls to make the space larger. The workers were scheduled on an almost daily basis and showed on time. The renovation was completed in 8 weeks and we were very thrilled with the experience and results. Emily's recommendations for colors and designs were excellent and she did an exceptional job managing the renovation.

Looked at five flooring stores. We selected Merit Evans because of it's availability of different materials. Installation was professional and done well enough to please a very detailed wife. Would recommend Merit (Evans store) to any potential buyer.

After purchasing a home under construction, I had the pleasure to meet with John Haddon at your Evans location to select carpet and wood. John was very informative and patient as I labored over choices and indeed made changes after the initial selection. I did not feel John was trying to sell me something, as was the case with other vendors, but rather I felt he was concerned that I be satisfied with the final result. ...which indeed I am! In fact because of his excellent service, I also bought carpet for my brothers condo from Merit. In my opinion, the most important offering a company can make is excellent customer service. Merit is the best.

Emily Holley is an excellent designer with talent and attention to detail. She worked with my design firm as an intern and for seven years as a designer. I depended on her for keeping projects on track and for kitchen drawings. She is an asset to any project that she works on!

I am very please with the cabinets my husband and I purchased at Merits. They are beautiful. Emily was wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable. The cabinets were delivered on the date given! That alone was amazing. We've done a lot of renovations and that is not always the case. The installation team did a fabulous job. When they appliances were delivered the gentlemen putting them in could not believe how level everything was and the panels and granite fit perfect. They did not have to make any adjustments. We are really enjoying are new beautiful kitchen, Thank You Merit for making our dream come true.

Our kitchen remodel was a very easy process under the capable supervision of Emily and Travis. Both had great ideas and thoughtfully and patiently solved the inevitable "surprises" that go along with renovating a 135 year old home. They clearly love what they do. We are thrilled with our new kitchen and hope to use Merlt for future projects.
