O'Rourke's Custom Homes and Remodeling did our complete master bathroom remodel and it was done incorrectly.
Within days of the project being finished, floor tiles began to crack. Water was seeping behind the shower tiles and becoming trapped, resulting in mold growth from inside the walls and floor out. (Upon demo so much standing water was found in the walls that the shower floor was, by professional assessment, close to caving in through our kitchen ceiling.)
We gave them three separate chances to fix their errors and each time it resulted in them causing further damage---numerous chipped tiles, splintered door frames, floor tiles destroyed by using caulk instead of grout.
After several professional tile companies inspected, each agreed the tile was laid wrong, the grout mixed improperly and the entire shower had been incorrectly constructed from start to finish. To show us exactly how poorly the job was done, each professional happened to point out that our toilet was shimmed into place with random scraps of wood because the tiles were so unevenly laid.
Subsequently, we had to pay for all new tile, new grout and demo of the tile done by Brian and Randi. We then had to pay for the new tile to be redone by another company (it covers the entirety of the bathroom floors and shower walls so this was no small job) in addition to paying for a new shower door since the original one no longer fit after the new tiles were installed.
The O'Rourkes referred our complaint to their insurance company who denied our claim because mold, one of the issues present, is not covered by their policy. Our lawyer requested payment from Brian and Randi for the expenses we incurred redoing their incorrectly done work. They have ignored the request. While we clearly have a case, we do not wish to incur any more expense as a result of their incompetence. Lawyer fees aside, the damage caused by O'Rourke's Custom Homes and Remodeling has cost us $7000 to repair.
I caution anyone thinking of hiring O'Rourke Custom Homes and Remodeling to think better of it---they do shoddy work, inflict further damage when they must fix their errors and they will leave you holding the bill for their negligence. I can provide photos and professional assessments to document the damage and show the scope of their inferior work should anyone wish to inquire further.
