The buy and install experiences were acceptable, and price was market-typical at the time. We loved the way our new counters looked at first, but I can't help wondering now whether we were sold a stone type that is soft or prone to chipping/flaking. Less than a year later, the look of our counters is significantly unsatisfactory; marred by several dozen small but very noticeable white divots where shallow chips or flakes have vacated. These chips were not the result of impacts or inappropriate usage of any kind, and there does seem to be areas that are particularly susceptible, while other parts still look as good as day one. I called Penn Granite (in Wilkes-Barre, PA) to express my concerns, and was asked to submit (email) some pictures, and told they'd get back to me. I did so a day or two later, and the wait began. A month later, I resubmitted the pictures with a slightly less friendly note than the first time, and still no response. I tried calling there today and no one answered. I don't have time to chase this company down and beg them to stand by their product, but it looks like that's where I am now; they obviously intend to ignore our complaint unless the issue is forced. If you want to spend $thousands to cringe every time you walk into your kitchen, Penn Granite is the way to go.
We are extremely pleased with our new quartz countertop, but we are even more pleased with the quality of service that we received from the team at Penn Granite and Stone. From their patience and direction in helping us make our choice to the attention to detail in the templating and installation. We were amazed that the installation took only an hour and was completed in such a professional way.
