It was great working with David on the re-pipe and small renovation of our townhouse. We replaced poly-b pipes, replaced a tub, tile, floor, and vanity, as well as a few other small items throughout the home. The trades were on time and the project was done without delays. David’s carpenters were especially professional and cleaned up after they were done each day. David was a great communicator and brought the project in on the projected budget. We would hire him again and recommend him.

David and his team at Renovation Science did an amazing job of completing the fairly ambitious renovation of our 42 year old townhome. The main floor of our home was taken back to the studs, interior walls removed, floors levelled, new support beam installed and footings poured in the basement. The kitchen and dining area was redesigned with a new beverage centre. New gas fireplace and stone surround, new electrical panel, wiring, plumbing and new on-demand tankless water heater. We also had additional work completed in other areas of the home, laundry room was reconfigured, bathrooms upgraded, tiling, new doors, new wood flooring and painting throughout the home. David was patient and accommodating with the add-on work that occurred, and offered creative solutions to the design and finishings. David managed the required permits, was on-site daily, coordinated the contractors, and communicated frequently on all aspects of the project. We received detailed invoices and knew at every step what our costs were. The on-site supervisor Ronnie was exemplary, crew and sub-contractors were friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The expertise and attention to the details showed in every aspect of the work completed. One year later we are still overjoyed and thrilled with the work completed. We love the functionality and comfort of what now looks like a “new” house. We frequently receive many compliments on our home and would highly recommend David and his team at Renovation Science for any large or small project you may be considering.

Recently we had the majority of the second floor of our house renovated by Renovation Science. Dave and his team of contractors worked diligently in making sure our design needs were met, completed on time and within our budget. The quality of workmanship on the renovation was excellent and any variances were remedied and fixed in a timely manner. In particular, we really appreciated Dave taking the time to design a feature barn door for the master ensuite which was functional and nicely tied in the clean lines of the master bedroom. We have received many compliments from friends on how clean, refreshed and contemporary our new bathrooms, bedrooms and other living space now look on our 2nd floor. Renovation Science, with its President David Martin, is a highly skilled, efficient and reliable renovation company. We were fortunate to cross paths with David and the Job Supervisor, Ronnie, last Spring when we were considering renovating our kitchen. They took in all our thoughts, possibilities … and limitations, and provided a detailed prospect for re-doing the space within our budget and expectations. As the work commenced we found, time and again, the crew went out of their way to minimize disruption and eliminate mess. David managed the overall operation, was regularly on-site, arranged sub-contracting where needed and performed the electrical upgrading himself. Also, we received periodic reports / accounts from David which recorded every cost, to date, and the purpose of it. We were always clear as to what was underway, how and when it would be completed and its cost. All costs were kept within the original estimate and plan. As a result, our renovation was completed on time, on target and with no surprises. At the same time, our external back stairs had deteriorated with age, so David and Ronnie made the time to rebuild the stairs as well. They’re as solid as they come. I know this as I’ve done my own share of building and renovating. We first encountered David because our next door neighbour was having his kitchen redone and we were curious about his experience; hence, our introduction to the Renovation Science team. We can now report our own parallel success along with our neighbour’s project, which was much more challenging structurally than ours. Interestingly, our kitchen was a completely different style (country cottage look) than our neighbour’s streamlined and modern “chef’s kitchen”. David was easily able to understand our different visions and transform them into reality. In short, we cannot recommend Renovation Science, David Martin and his crew more highly. Given the stories we’d heard about renovations going sideways, we were leery about taking this on. We needn’t have been. David and his team, Ronnie and Thomas, did a great job on our kitchen renovation. They were knowledgeable, conscientious and meticulous about details. The day's work always began as scheduled and when necessary, work continued on the occasional weekend in order to stay on schedule. When a cabinet measurement overlooked the placement of a ceiling pot light, David came the next day, a Saturday, to reposition the existing pot light and install an additional one. This is the care and attention to detail that one can expect from Renovation Science. Communication was excellent and there was never any doubt as to the progress or status of the project. Our job was a fairly small one by Renovation Science standards, but we never felt treated like a "side project" because of this. Timelines were adhered to and the kitchen was completed on time and under budget. You can expect a job well-done at a very fair price and with no drama or stress. We have no hesitation in recommending Renovation Science for your next home renovation big or small.

Renovation Science recently completed a full renovation of our kitchen, master bedroom ensuite and other areas. We were very satisfied with all aspects of the project from start to finish. David, Ronald and all the sub-contractors involved were always professional, highly skilled and, importantly for us, super easy to deal with. Throughout the project, they were responsive to our sometimes evolving requirements and two-way communication was always excellent. As part of the renovation, we took the opportunity to implement a comprehensive home automation system, which they were very supportive of, and the result has been outstanding. David’s professionalism make him a pleasure to work with. A definite ten out of ten. He is punctual and responds quickly to phone and email queries. Not only is he creative, he is also practical and realistic in his recommendations. Work and scheduling by various trades went smoothly and all work was completed to a high standard. Some custom design and manufacture of venting was needed to adapt a new down-vented range fan to existing cabinets. This was no problem for David. He made drawings for some custom metal fabricating and all pieces fit perfectly. Thank you, David, for my gorgeous kitchen and powder room – all completed to original estimate.

My husband and I purchased a "fixer upper" in the summer when we were expecting. We were on a tight timeline, wanting to have everything complete before our baby arrived. The renovations we asked for were no small undertaking. We requested a complete flip of the kitchen into another part of the house and a wall enclosure to make a third bedroom/ den. We also wanted the flooring on the entire first level redone. David and his team did everything to get the renovations going as quick as possible and complete the project in a timely manner without compromising quality. A few issues did arise regarding sprinkler head requirements which David handled extremely well in order to keep the project moving forward. Despite the extra work that arose from this situation, he was able to stick to the initial budget. But the quality we appreciated most about David was his professionalism. He is extremely easy to work with, responds to clients concerns quickly, and offers innovative solutions to potential problems. My partner and I are younger and I always felt he treated us with respect and took our concerns seriously. His team and the contractors he hired were also wonderful to work with. Overall, David is friendly, hard working, goes out of his way to ensure his clients ideas are met, and is trustworthy. I couldn't imagine having used anyone else for this renovation, which came at a very crazy time in our lives! I would not hesitate to use David again, or recommend him to others. RenoSci did a substantial renovation for me to expand my kitchen by combining two rooms, and adding a new exterior door. David was very professional in organizing everyone and overcoming the inevitable bumps along the way. His team of trades professionals was very competent and courteous, the job got done efficiently and to a high standard. I wouldn't hesitate to use RenoSci again, or to recommend them.

Although Renovation Science could not find the time to undertake the project, they supplied us with their sub-trades who completed what we needed done and were beyond excellent to deal with..

This contractor exceeded any expectations I had about my renovation. His estimate was bang on, he is extremely personable and easy to work with, and the quality of the finishes were excellent. His pricing was competitive with other contractors who quoted the job, only his estimate included higher end finishes. His attention to detail and his design ideas and suggestions were excellent, and the sub contractors he works with were all amazing and did quality work. He managed the permit process with the city, which made planning the renovation much easier. We recommend him without reservation. I was told by another customer prior to the renovation that nobody who works with this contractor is ever disappointed with the results. I realized this was true the first time I met him, and we are thrilled with the end results of our project. Hire Renovation Science for your renovations. You won’t be sorry.

What was I looking for and the most important takeaway from working with David? He’s honest and a man of his word. Widowed for just over a year, I had decided that I was going to remain in my house and I was determined to finally undertake the renovations that had been had planned over the last 18 years. Making these kinds of decisions alone can be quite daunting, and made me feel quite vulnerable. Thank goodness searching Houzz led me to David and his company Renovation Science. Admittedly, not all of my Houzz searches had great results, but once I contacted David my gut told me to follow through. I’m pleased as punch with the quality of work David and his crew did completely renovating my 1950’s kitchen and bath. Both rooms are wonderful and function exactly as I had hoped. He addressed any concerns I had throughout the process and worked in concert with my kitchen and bath designer (Genesis Kitchen), to create exactly the spaces I envisioned, with precision and attention to detail. The entire process was far less stressful than I ever anticipated, and would never have made a very good HGTV episode, since things ran very smoothly. Any delays encountered were due to external issues such as sourcing just the right tiles from Mexico (thank you Bullnose Tiles), and the subsequent need to wait for the transit via the world’s slowest burro delivery . Once the tiles finally arrived, David realized that the tile pattern I had chosen did not line up with the placement of the new plumbing and completely nonplussed, he opened up the wall and repositioned everything to ensure symmetry. They are beautiful. Now that the work is done I feel my home is more mine than “ours” and that is helping me to adjust to my new normal. David’s compassionate manner and immense integrity throughout this process has reinforced my faith in humanity. There are good people out there, and I have found one! I highly recommend Renovation Science and I’ve already provided David with a list of exterior projects I would like him to price out for me to start work on next spring.

I hired David and Renovation Science to take over and complete a kitchen renovation project. I am very happy with the results. David came into a project that was already a disaster. The original contractor (DK Conquest = Scammers and scumbags!) abandoned my project after demolishing my condo when I told them they needed to fix an intentional cost cutting materials change (specified material was in the scope of work contract and they tried to use a cheaper/lower quality version). David came into my project and not only cleaned up the complete disaster left by the previous contractor, but then managed to provide me with a beautiful and functional kitchen. The project took a bit longer than I would've liked, but I understand the cause of these delays. All the materials needed to be re-ordered after the project was halfway done. These delays were a direct result of the previous contractors abandoning the project. During the project, David was able to find innovative solutions to all the unexpected issues that arose. You can really tell his engineering experience helps with these problems. At the end of the project, my condo was thoroughly cleaned and all the discrepancies were taken care of. The final invoice was right at the originally quoted value, apart from a couple add-ons I requested during the project. I would definitely recommend David and Renovation Science to others!

I need more stars need a ten or eleven. David is a professional that excels in making things better. Arrived on scheduled time. Everything he touched he made better. He not only created an efficient new laundry room eliminatinating cement floors and cement walls, he installed tiles, cabinets, appliances , sink, lights, including sensor lights. A very talented man, and would highly recommend for any new job or renovation. Recommended from previous clients in our area, and they too were completely satisfied.

David Martin did a fantastic job on our condo kitchen reno. He helped us through every step of the planning stage, and his attention to detail was much appreciated. The pics show how we went from a cramped space to a beautiful, more functional kitchen, that even includes a spot just for the cat! There were no surprises when it came to budget. Care was always taken to ensure the hallways and elevator were protected while bringing in and taking out material. We absolutely love our kitchen, and highly recommend Renovation Science.

We had this company finish our basement and they did a great job. In addition, this company would go extra miles just to ensure their customers are satisfied. We really love the finished basement and it is really outstanding work! Highly recommend this company!

They did an excellent job to renovate my 30 years old veranda. New posts, new railings and new vinyl flooring. Also an addition of a mud room. Love it!!!

We hired Dave for an interior remodel, focusing on the kitchen and bathrooms. Dave was very professional (frequent updates throughout the project and going above and beyond expectations numerous times) and helpful (providing guidance and alternatives when required). We would recommend Dave for projects big and small.

We have our kitchen work on the fall of 2016, the transformation is amazing.The project was done with the utmost professionalism. We love the quality of the work. My son compared it with the kitchens on TV. I'd interview a few other contractors, Dave presented his quote with honesty and great knowledge of what we want. The project was on time and on budget. I found David Martin to be extremely professional and trustworthy. He was reliable and gave us lots of guidance and advice along the way. He completed an excellent job for us from start to finish. David was very flexible and went out of his way to be helpful. He happened to be working at our townhouse, when a pipe burst in the unit above ours and caused a lot of water damage to our unit. David removed whatever belongings and boxes were in our place, outside and away from the water, to minimize the damage. As a result, none of our belongings were damaged. We had the pleasure of working with Dave Martin of Renovation Science on our bathroom renovation. We have worked with other contractors in the past, and we can honestly say Dave outshines them all! He is extremely talented, professional, experienced and hardworking. He knows the importance of keeping the client engaged in the renovation process. Dave respected our need to protect our hardwood staircase so he built protection for it. We appreciated his attention to keeping the workplace and our home clean. Dave was also able to take some design sketches and build a couple of very beautiful and creative recessed features. He even went to the trouble of building us a model of a recessed garbage can so that we could envision what one would look like. We have had many compliments on our bathroom and Dave's workmanship. We were so pleased with his work that we asked him to take on two other renovations for us. Again, he was able to take a designer sketch of recessed LED lighting for our living room and dining room ceiling; he did a beautiful job. Dave also took our sketch for a fireplace mantle and surrounding shelves and was able to make adjustments to our sketches using design software which made it very easy for us to envision what our feature fireplace would look like. Lastly, he built a beautiful large shed for us, complete with a shingle roof, lighting and concrete floor. Dave is a mechanical engineer with a Master's degree in building envelope technology. In part, I think this is what gives him an edge over the other contractors we have used. Our thanks to Dave and his passion for his work, and helping clients realize their dream renovations!
