Richardson & Rice Design-Build-Remodel

Brent completed our first big renovation for us and did a fantastic job redoing our first floor, including the kitchen. Everything looks fantastic and came out exactly how we envisioned it. We felt supported and fully informed every step of the way. The workers he hired were all very professional and we felt comfortable with them in our house. I can't imagine having a better experience with a renovation.

We absolutely LOVE our new kitchen! John and Brent were professional and helpful from the beginning. John was usually on site at least twice a day making sure the work was done well. He helped with finishing and showed tremendous attention to detail. The subcontractors were nice to work with and I felt comfortable with them in my home. Jeannie Monroe, the decorator that works with them, helped us with selections and was so patient and professional. John was very attentive and addressed any concerns quickly. They were nice enough to add a few items we wanted to have done in other rooms and we were still able to stay very close to budget. They stayed within the estimated timeframe for the job. I would highly recommend them if you want a quality job done right!

We are elated with the work Richardson and Rice accomplished for us! They remodeled our master bath, installed a bay window in our bedroom, added an entire four-season room and deck. Brent and John gave great suggestions for design; their renovation knowledge and expertise is vast. Their workmanship is superior, they are very detail oriented and they were in constant communication with us throughout the job. Every professional they had working on our house was experienced, highly skilled, polite, engaged and diligent. The vendors they suggested were easy to work with and offered high quality merchandise. Project deadlines were always met, unless weather or manufacturer caused a delay. This is the second time we have used Richardson & Rice and we would call upon them again without hesitation. They gave us great peace of mind throughout the project because they proficiently handled everything. Everyone who sees our upgrades are immensely impressed; in awe actually. The Richardson & Rice motto of “Simply the Best” could not be more fitting.

3-Season Back Porch & Deck. Exceptional work! During the course of our project, I counted the owners of 9 companies (designers, general contractors and subs) on-site and hands-on. Every person on our job was meticulous and skilled at their craft. As for R&R, we truly appreciated Brent's daily communication, transparency and impressive attention to detail. David, R&R's sole employee, was always cheerfully focused on achieving perfection and delivering a flawless project. We highly recommend Richardson and Rice.

Richardson and Rice did an excellent job with our major renovation project. Almost the entire first floor was renovated including a complete demolition and rebuild of the kitchen area, all new wood flooring, and complete repair and painting of all first floor rooms. Everything was done with the utmost care and professionalism. They put up dust control systems from day one to ensure other areas of the home stay unaffected by the construction and each day they cleaned up and left the property clean and organized. All subcontractors were of the same high quality and professionalism. I will be hiring Richardson and Rice for future projects as well.

mpRichardson & Rice did a complete Master Bath remodel. This was the best renovation / construction experience we have ever had. They were very professional, timely, with great communication throughout the process, and, of course, we love how the bath turned out. Someone was on site every day checking on progress. The construction dust was contained and the site cleaned every day. They went out of their way to listen to our ideas and helped turn them into a reality. We would highly recommend them.

My wife and I are very happy with the results of our remodeling project. We had a large eyesore of a fireplace in the middle of our front living room that we needed to remove. In addition, we wanted to modernize the living room by adding new carpet, a new front door, apply new paint, an expanded front receiving area, adding an electric fireplace, as well as a supported wall where our new television would go. Along with way, my wife and I added small changes in other rooms as well as roof and other external changes both structural and aesthetic. Through it all Brent Rice patiently listened to us and ensured that all of the changes were made with precision and to our tastes. Everything that was going to be done was clearly coordinated and the expenses were explained in detail. We were never surprised. They were always on time and within projected budgets. In the end, we are completely ecstatic about the changes to our home and will use Richardson & Rice again.

Richardson and Rice remodeled an upstairs bathroom for us. Brent Rice handled our project, and he did a great job. Brent worked with us through the design phase, and did his best to accommodate our suggestions and preferences. Construction started with a demolition phase that included an dumpster in our driveway for a few days. (So, we took the opportunity to clean out our garage!) All of the sub-contractors seemed quite capable and efficient. Brent kept close tabs on the sub-contractors. He sent frequent text messages to update us on progress, and to tell us which workers would come the next day. Brent was always pleasant and easy to deal with, and he capably managed whatever contingencies came along. At the time of our final settlement, our price was higher than estimated, but only because of particular selections we made after the bid. Brent had every invoice to show us, and I was satisfied that our extra expenses were all accurately accounted-for at the time of the final settlement. The “cost-plus” pricing of the job worked exactly as promised.

We found Richardson and Rice from the St Sue bulletin. We hired them to replace the 13 year old builder quality hardwood floors throughout the entire first floor, put in thicker base boards, complete kitchen remodel and fresh paint. These guys spelled it all out for us(budget/schedule) and ended every day @ 5:00 for 12 weeks with a text for what was accomplished and what was going to happen the next day! Not your typical contractor that fails to communicate and has unreliable sub contractors coming into your home. Would highly recommend them for your next project!!!

R & R completed a master suite renovation in our home in 2017. The entire experience including craftsmanship, planning, budgeting, scheduling, etc. from beginning to end was terrific. The whole team is quite talented. I would highly recommend.

Richardson & Rice far exceeded our expectations. Not only did the project turn out beautifully, it was finished on-time AND on budget! We worked mostly with Brent. We found him to be very knowledgable, organized, on top of everything, easy to reach and was involved the entire time with the subcontractors (checking in on-site daily). We never felt like we were bothering him with our questions/concerns. Everyone they hired to do the work was professional and courteous. The quality of their work was excellent too (and I have very high standards). This was honestly the smoothest project we have ever had done. I highly recommend them and will use them for any future projects. NOTE: We had a handicap accessible concrete sidewalk added the front of our house along with new entryway tile.

This review on our patio roof from Richardson & Rice has taken me so long because I hate to come inside and do any work now! From the moment John and Brent came to our house for an estimate, we knew we had called the right company. So many contractors take a few measurements, spend a moment taking to you about your needs and then they are gone. Sometimes you get an estimate, sometimes you don't. Richardson & Rice made sure they knew exactly what we were looking for when we told them we wanted to cover our existing stamped concrete patio. They took so much time making sure that they had everything they needed to give us the most comprehensive estimate I had ever received. They knew I wanted the roof to look as if it were original to the house and boy did they deliver! The patio is now my most favorite room in the house. We really just needed a break from the Western sun each afternoon, but we have an oasis. Due to the way we needed to anchor the support columns, the downspouts would be coming out on the edge of the patio. I wasn't thrilled about this, but with a suggestion from John and Brent, I learned about rain chains and have the most unique gutter system I've ever seen. We also took their suggestion to paint the ceiling light blue like porches used to be painted and it was the right decision. The project came in on time and UNDER budget! We are thrilled!
