Tom curren was very professional and gave me great prices for a kitchen remodel I was thinking about starting. They definitely made my short list and I’m eager to meet with them again!

I just started getting estimates to have my bathrooms and maybe my kitchen remodeled. A rep from Tom Curren came out last week and talked to me about what I wanted, measured all the spaces, talked to me at length about my budget (and I was EXTREMELY clear about my upper limit). She seemed very positive about the possibilities and went off to generate an estimate. Today she returned with the Vice President of the company in tow- something I was absolutely not expecting. She spent at least a half an hour basically lecturing me about the five Ps of hiring a contractor and then finally presented me with a lovely folder with lots of nice pictures and an estimate that is more than DOUBLE the upper limit of my budget. I am dumbfounded really. Why would she waste her time and mine. $21,000 to do my TINY bathroom (5’ x 7’). Two years ago I got an estimate for the same bathroom of $6,500. Unless Curren was planning to give me a golden toilet I can’t imagine where this big discrepancy comes from. Sharks. So discouraging.

We hired Tom Curren Companies too renovate an old and very rickety interior staircase. Our house has a more contemporary style and this stairway was right in the middle of the house leading down to a family room. Curren Companies provided excellent customer service and a very fair quote for the amount of work that was needed. The carpenter who did the stairway was an exceptional craftsman and the finished stairway is truly beautiful and incredibly solid. The work started on time and ended on time with no budget surprises. I had a couple of change orders that they fit into the project without any changes to the time line. The town's building inspector who reviewed the job is a very fussy guy and he said that he rarely sees the quality of work that he saw in our stairway. All of the other sub contractors involved with the job did nice work as well. They all are very tidy and considering the location, had minimal impact on the rest of the house. I will be doing a kitchen remodel next year and I would definitely consider hiring Tom Curren Companies again.

We recently had our kitchen remodeled and so happy we hired Tom Curren. They provided excellent customer service. Jean Schneider was extremely helpful throughout the process. She was a pleasure to work with. The project manager, Eli, was excellent in his attention to detail. We strongly recommend Tom Curren Companies for any repairs or renovations!

Tom Curren painters are truly the best around. From a designers standpoint they are fantastic because painting can be a very messy and intrusive part of an interior project. But with Tom's crew it is not a problem. They are incredibly thorough, clean, quiet and professional. They may be a bit more expensive but I can promise you the finished product is worth it. I can always depend on Tom Curren to do a great job.

We hired Tom Curren Co. last summer after we bought our house in Boston. They came in with a competitive bid and told me what i wanted to hear, that they could start right away. That was the beginning of a long, dramatic relationship. When we actually did a walkthrough, the price jumped up over 30,000. We felt take advantage of as we had already signed a contract. This was our life savings and the gauged us. We tried to buy the cheapest materials to get the cost down but ended up only saving a little bit. What i learned much later was that this is a painting company, not a general contractor and through their employees i learned that they were having issues with several of their reno projects. They have started doing more full renovations so i hope they work that out. They were professional, but it was more stressful and expensive than it should have been. They charged us close to 12 grand on an island that was some poorly constructed cabinetry with drawers that warped and had to have 2 teams come in and fix. A second contractor told me the island should have cost under 3-5 grand. When i mentioned this and the sides started warping, Tom Curren did give me a discount and we settled on 9 grand which was still extremely over priced. Overall, i really liked their staff and employees, very nice, competent people. At the end of the job they pushed us to pay them in full by the end of the year to close out the job. We assumed it was all signed and done, However, i later found out that they had not gone through the permit process correctly and the permit was still sitting open waiting for a plumbing co to finish the work. I thought that was unethical and they should have mentioned this. This forced me to delay other work i was doing in the basement with another company. I think they do great painting work, but i would be very involved in any renovations work with them.

We contracted with Tom Curren Companies to paint the interior of our whole house and other rehab work. We found the team to be very knowledgeable and helpful in planning and scheduling all phases of the project such as storage, movers and color consultation. The staff's professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail resulted in our project being completed ahead of schedule and on budget. We are delighted with the results!

Just before Christmas 2015, I needed a handyman badly. Through a friend I learned of one, named Joe C. who worked for Tom Curren Companies. I called, Joe came, and Joe completed everything on my list. I appreciated his careful and excellent work, but I also was pleased that he was pleasant. He also arrived when he said he would. I apologize for not providing a more timely review, but Christmas and family arrived and I forgot.

My wife and I hired Tom Curren Companies to stain the outside of our two-family home in the greater Boston area. While we have used this company in the past for smaller, interior painting jobs, this was by far the biggest job they have done for us. We appreciate that, for each of these jobs, the company had us working with the same representative, so we feel as if we are getting very personal service. When the job had to be altered, through no fault of Tom Curren Companies, they remained flexible, responsive and professional. The job was completed on time and on budget. We recommend Tom Curren Companies for your home improvement project.

We hired Tom Curren Co. for a relatively simple project, painting a hallway and staircase. They were great. Barry came out to provide us with an estimate - he was super friendly and incredibly honest about what he thought was/wasn't necessary. He also spent time assessing our kitchen for us which would be a more complicated job that we will do in the future. The scheduling dept was very prompt in scheduling us, and also very friendly. I was worried that they wouldn't be able to match our trim paint and that it would look weird, but they did a fantastic job. I also told them that I had my daughter's first bday party at our home that weekend and that we were getting our home cleaned the day before they were coming into paint - so they needed to be extra careful not to make a mess. They left our home spotless. Really happy with this company, would definitely use them again.

Tom Curren repaired the damage to our home from ice dams, including replacing the insulation, wood trim and molding, new walls and ceilings, and both interior and exterior painting. The crew was highly professional, polite, and respectful. They started on schedule and finished the job efficiently. We are totally satisfied with the quality of their work. In fact, we have already hired them again to do further interior painting to make the whole house look as good as the repaired areas.

I was very pleased with the interior work done at my home. The painter, Jairo, showed up on time every day, worked very hard, cleaned up after his work and just did a very good job! My wife and I were both pleased, thank you Barry and Jairo.

I contacted Tom Curran Compaines in February to give me an estimate on the damage to my home from ice dams. I had to meet with two separate emplyees to go over the adjustors estimates. I called again to have a estimate for the work when all the snow had melted. Both times I had to take time off from work to meet the Company representative. The last meeting was on May 22, 2015. At that time I was told that it might take about 6 weeks to get the estimate done. I had the feeling that the estimator didn't feel as if the company would make enough money from the work that needed to be done. I am a patient person, so after the 6 weeks I called Tom Curran and asked to have the estimator call meabout the estimate. No phone call. I again called the office and asked for the estimator to call me. To date I have not had any response from the estimator. I realize that there is a huge amount of work that is being done due to the ice dam damage to many homes in the Boston area. I am truely disappointed that I have not been contacted by Tom Curran Companies.

October, 2015. After many years of working with Tom Curren’s fine handyman Joe, we turned to the company last winter, first for ice dam buildup and then for major damage repair. Right from the start, we felt in good hands. Barry Eldershaw, Curren’s excellent Sales Estimator, was the point man for our renovation and instrumental in securing a higher insurance claim reimbursement than we had originally been awarded. What a difference that made! He worked with us from room to room, assessing damage, making suggestions, and eventually drawing up an estimate for the work needed. He communicated with us throughout the job, adjusting totals as needed. We contracted to redo walls, ceiling, doors, and moldings in a front hall, upstairs hall, stairwell, and bedroom. Januir Serpa was the crew chief and truly a master home builder. I cannot say enough about his skills, helpful suggestions, and professional workmanship. He and his crew, especially David, were punctual, neat, and very personable. They always made time for our questions. They were hard workers, and the results far exceeded our expectations. Part of the work included heavy insulation of a street side bedroom wall. The wonderful result is quiet nights – and days! Barry and Januir both made the excellent suggestion to paint the slanted roof ceilings the same color as the main ceiling. I am so glad we followed this advice. The architecture is so much more accentuated now. Each morning now I wake up in a bedroom with beautiful blue-gray walls and dove-white sloped ceilings and feel that I might be in Greece! I am thankful to the Curren company and team for the wonderful difference their work has made in our lives. In fact, we have been so pleased with Tom Curren Companies that we are under deposit for exterior house painting to take place first thing next spring. I am very appreciative to Lisa Cambra, Operations Manager, for scheduling our fall and spring jobs. She was pleasant, professional, flexible, and efficient. Joe is amazing. We have been relying on his excellent handyman skills since 2012 – some ten visits to date. I can truly say that without his help, our living room would be darker (antique sconce wall lamp repair), our house hotter (he installs air-conditioners), our doors and drawers and windows squeaking or stuck in their tracks, and our house considerably less safe and habitable. He is a carpenter, electrician, painter, and more. He is also creative, having devised a secure way to install trellises in two narrow sections of our shed. And he is a true house detective in uncovering problems and identifying and removing dangers I missed – an old rusty wall hinge and a loose wire in our attic. I think Joe can fix anything. He has repaired broken cabinet locks; re-glued my Dad’s old wooden nesting tables; replaced the bottom of an antique tansu drawer; re-grouted tile; installed new smoke and CO2 alarms; put together a platform bed and four drawers from scratch (after breaking down and removing the old one); spackled holes in the wall; repaired and painted an outside railing; oiled our side porch deck; changed glass doors to screen doors and back again; sealed chipmunk holes in our house’s stone foundation, fashioned and replaced broken fence rails, posts, and pickets destroyed by a falling branch, etc. I simply don’t know what we’d do without him. He is cheerful, reliable, hardworking, and an excellent craftsman. Our house and therefore our lives are immeasurably better for his help.

The Curran company was very professional and thorough from the estimate done by Barry Eldershaw to the work done by the crew of painters and plasterers under Emerson Cruz. They were very careful in moving furniture, paintings and books and making sure that everything was protected in the process. The work was excellent. Where color needed matching they did it perfectly. Both Barry and Emerson are very nice men to work with. The staff at the office was also very helpful. The work was done on time and on budget. I would definiately recommend the Curran Company. The reason I called them to do the work was that I knew they were a trusted company in my town of Wellesley, Ma.

Joe, the handyman from Tom Curran Companies, has been our life-saver! He has been to our house twice - arrived promptly (to the minute and even called 15 minutes before arriving for the first visit). He has done an amazing job on all that we have asked him to do. He is an electrician by background, so he has the knowledge and experience to deal with many of the complicated lighting fixtures that needed work. He is careful, thorough, and works tirelessly. He assessed what was the best repair for each task and then proceeded to do this - efficiently and carefully. He is an excellent communicator, and he advised us on all aspects of the repairs. When we saw how careful he was, we added on some tasks that required attention to detail and expertise. He did these wonderfully! We absolutely came to trust Joe and his opinions and resulting work on all aspects of our job. He was very clean (meticulous) - from the moment he walked in and wiped his feet to how he cleaned up after his work at the end. Our house looks so much better as a result of his superb work! There were many challenging aspects to our job - replacing floods 20 feet up, replacing delicate lamp fixture bulbs, bolstering kitchen granite that was sagging - he did all with great care. He is our new go-to person! We will be having him come back for a third visit to hang picture frames, re-grout the front bluestone tile, bolster some bannister rails that are loose, etc. He was courteous, professional, efficient, and magically made broken items work again (garbage pail, recycle bins off track). We have used other handyman in the past - he is, by far, the best one that we have worked with! The receptionists (Cassie and Amanda) at Tom Curran Co. who helped make the appointments were kind, thoughtful, and extremely helpful. This has been a wonderfully positive experience from start to finish! We are on their list to have their painters come and give us an estimate for some exterior and interior painting/deck work. Second review - December 2,2015: I am now reviewing a second large job that I had done with Tom Curren Companies. We had a lot of wood rot on the outside of our house from the terrible ice dams last year. A lot of siding, clapboard, wood sills were all rotting terribly and needed to be replaced. Gilmar was the main foreman in charge of this job and he was wonderful - prompt, polite, meticulous about cleaning up after themselves, a thorough communicator (no surprises - he always discussed everything with me, showed me pictures of all that he saw under the clapboard, etc) and was very hard working. He and his helper worked for many hours in the cold weather, trying to get our job done. He replaced the rotting wood with composite and, in some areas, put in a waterproof lining over the plywood and then applied the clapboard. He painted it all at the end. Our house looks soon much better after their wonderful work! Gilmar made many constructive suggestions - always trying to find ways to save us money! We truly appreciate this. He found areas of our house that had more rotting wood than was initially apparent. We came to totally trust his judgement and expertise. He and his team were very professional in every way. Having had very bad experiences 15 years ago when we built our house, it was refreshing to have such a positive experience this time around! Tom - Gilmar should get a raise - such an incredible employee, hard worker, dedicated to doing the best possible job always. He has contributed to organizing our garage (installing hooks for bicycles, ladders, ski racks), installed an electronic lock in our garage (for which I thank him daily when I don't need to fish for a key at the end of a long hard day!), installed motion -detector sensor lights inside and out, repaired our garage door, got two outlets working again that had been "dead," and replaced those bulbs high up that require a ladder and no fear of heights to do! He has really modernized our home! He is always on-time (usually even early), courteous, responsible, and thoughtful. He always gives us great advice, and we value his expertise. We completely trust his judgement. His quality of work is superb - he should be recognized as a stellar employee at Tom Curren! Here is the funny story - a few weeks back, I found out that my sister-in-law was having Joe come to her home (for the first time) the same week as he was scheduled to do the above mentioned job for us. She had read all his reviews - compared to other companies - and then decided to hire Joe. After her job, she and my brother both told me how very pleased they were with all that Joe did for them! We have given Joe tasks of increasing complexity, and he has completed all professionally and skillfully. After the Tom Curren Companies handled my interior painting work this spring, I had them back in August to do the complete exterior, which had also taken a beating from the harsh winter we just had. I asked the crew chief, Gustavo, from the first job if he was available and was very pleased that he was able to come. He and his crew -- Valentine, Miguel, and Cece -- were hard-working, precise, unfailingly polite, and did a fabulous job. They started with a thorough and much-needed power washing, then did extensive scraping, priming, and even necessary caulking. Then they did two complete coats on the body, trim, and doors. Gustavo made an excellent suggestion for carrying over the door color to a narrow strip of the trim at the roof line. This was an inspired idea and really helped the color of the trim and body pop. The entire team worked hard all day long and were good about cleaning up before they left. They kept me informed about where they were in the process. I did not hesitate to leave them when I went out to do errands. Additionally the office staff was extremely helpful with scheduling, billing, paint colors, etc. In fact, they apprised me of an opening in the schedule that allowed me to get the job done 2 weeks ahead of when I anticipated. I am delighted to recommend this crew and the company to anyone. Thank you to the entire team for making this project go smoothly and seamlessly. I look forward to using you again when needed.

Tom Curren Companies was a very professional company that provided excellent service. I have been employing them over the past five years for multiple projects, including removing wallpaper from almost every room in the house and painting all the walls. Following the storms of the 2015 winter, there was a great deal of damage to the paint in the interior. Also the front porch lattice was deteriorating along with peeling paint along the whole front porch. The project planner inspected the property and gave me a very reasonable estimate to complete the job. When I needed to change aspects to the project before work started, Tom Curren Companies proved to be very flexible. Also, they were very open during the process. When the front porch trellis was removed, they found that there was rotting wood underneath. I was immediately informed of the rotting wood and what it would cost to replace it as well. Once I agreed, the wood was replaced promptly and the project was completed within a day. The rest of the porch was washed and painted within a day or two. In all, about six rooms were painted along with the front porch and lattice replacement. This took about three days total. Setup and cleanup was very thorough and complete. I highly recommend Tom Curren Companies for any home improvements.

In late April, 2015, Tom Curren Companies sent a crew of three to paint a newly constructed addition as well as to sand down to bare cedar shingles and scrape the trim and paint half of the 1925 part of our large house. We couldn't be more pleased with the quality of their work and professional, friendly manner. Because of old lead paint on our house, everything was done properly according to EPA standards and the site was cleaned up at the end of each day. The crew leader kept us appraised of progress and anything that came up requiring special attention. Our experience with our sales rep and people on the phone at the office was always courteous and helpful. They were able to start a bit ahead of schedule and worked consecutive days til it was finished, holding off on the one rainy day. We are making plans for having them finish the sanding and painting for the rest of our house this September.

Tom Curren Companies recently completed painting the interior of my Victorian condo and I could not be more pleased with the results. Their painting crew was professional, efficient and very talented. The space has really been transformed and the attention paid to the details really made the difference. The walls look like new and the trim was repaired to look like it once did. The workspace was kept clean at the end of each day and the job was completed on time and within my budget. I would definitely recommend Tom Curren Companies for any painting projects.

We had an inspection done on a house we were buying to make sure the bad winter hadn't done any permanent damage. Gene and Barry were very professional and knowledgeable. They gave us their honest advice and I didn't feel like they were 'selling' a service. We have used Tom Curren in the past and well and have been very happy with their services.

Tom Curren Co installed a new front entry door, and new French patio doors off the the back of the house. Barry came back to go over the final door selections with me in person, I was very particular about the finishes and details. He went over all the choices and decisions with me, I felt really confident about the project. Herbert came out to install the doors, he is fabulous. He and his assistant were fast and professional. They did a great job, really paid attention to the details of the installation and cleaned up afterwards. I can't wait to work with them again.

Joe, of Tom Curran has on two separate occasions done a superlative job in both assembling furniture and in repairing my cabinetry. With an old hutch in my dining area, Joe was able to arrive at an original and very satisfactory solution to a problem I was having with an old lock. I cannot recommend Tom Curran Co more highly.

I requested an estimate to touch up some painted areas and other repair carpentry work. The estimator pointed out items that I had not seen or thought of that needed work as well. As the work progressed other items were found and addressed. The crew was polite, professional and cleaned up every day. The completed work was exactly what I wanted and the charges for the extra work were more than reasonable.

Having originally replaced our siding and painted our house exterior and trim about 10 years ago Tom Curren Company returned this summer to repair and repaint some trim and rebuild our back stairs and fix some rotting wood gutters. All Jobs were completed in a timely and professional manner. The team of carpenters and painters were easy to work with, had good ideas and design sense on items that required some planning and thought. Communication with the company's office was accessible and easy. I would definitely hire Tom Curren again for larger and smaller services.

We hired Tom Curren Companies to paint our back porch, paint and caulk some windows on the windward side of our house, and repair/clean the gutters. From start to finish they did a truly superior job. Mr. Barry Eldershaw was our first in person contact. He was careful in his assessment, taking photos to help formulate an estimate. Both he and the painters came on the days and times agreed upon. The painters sanded the porch, painted the floor, rails, posts, porch door, and were thoroughly professional throughout their day and a half with us. The estimated price was what we had expected, and there were no surprises at the end. In all we will definitely hire this company again, and will recommend it to our friends.

We are really pleased with the work the Tom Curren Companies did for us, which include prepping and painting the exterior of our house and some carpentry. From our first meetings with Bryan to price the job to our day to day interactions with Emerson and the painting crew, we were impressed by the experience and professionalism everyone brought to the job. Bryan and Emerson, in particular, were very supportive as we worked out our design and both were very responsive with any questions that we had. The carpenter, Herbert, also was efficient and professional. And above all, the house looks great!

Deck and stairs were painted. Several deck board were replaced as was a window sill. Also, front wooden stoop was painted. Excellent job. Workers completed job as planned, arrived on time, answered any questions we had, very professional, and did a great job cleaning up after job was completed. They also removed our canoe from under the deck, so it wouldn't get paint on it.

The Tom Curren team invested a good week on prep and a lot of time getting two coats throughout the house a high up on the cupolas. The painters would flexible allowing woodwork repairs. They completed the project sticking to the budget. Thanks Ted

I called Tom Curren companies early in the summer for an estimate on painting and carpentry repairs on a finished basement (circa 1970). Initially the response was prompt and professional - the estimators came to discuss the job, took photos, and prepared an estimate which we reviewed in person a week later. A few days after that I emailed saying that I wanted to proceed with the work on the dates we had discussed, could send a deposit check to hold the dates, but had a few questions about the job. One question was that I was considering whitewashing the wood paneled walls instead of painting, and I sent photos of the result I wanted to achieve. Another question was about the carpentry - I wanted to ensure we were in agreement about what that involved. Could we meet once more to discuss? At that point, the email conversation fell apart: - After about a week, estimator responded that he was out of the office for a few days. - Estimator emailed the following week saying that whitewashing wouldn't work on previously stained or painted walls. - I politely responded that the walls were unstained, unpainted, and untreated pine (which they should have known from seeing the walls, taking photos, and preparing an estimate that included potentially two coats of primer, but I didn't mention any of that), and that my attempt at whitewashing a small patch worked fine. I asked again whether whitewashing was something their crew could do. - Estimator emailed to ask what days later that week we could meet. - I responded that my schedule was wide open and said that I am eager to begin this work. - Estimator never replied. At this point, it is PAST the time frame when we originally discussed doing the work. I wasted a month with Tom Curren companies getting nowhere. I politely asked whether whitewashing was something their team could do, and instead of responding either yes or no they seem to have dropped me completely with no follow-up at all. I have the feeling that had I proceeded with the estimate without asking any follow-up questions, everything would have been fine. I might have gone ahead with painting instead of whitewashing regardless, but wanted to discuss this option. I can't understand why the company suddenly changed from being interested in this job from not responding to me at all, but I feel resentful that I am back at square one looking for a contractor to do this work, particularly as the goal is turn my basement into a home office where I see clients, and I am eager to get the work done.

The job included painting the entire exterior of my house and garage, including sills of windows, plus rebuilding a small kitchen porch and replacing rotten wood on exterior of the garage. The team of painters, led by Mr. Serpa, were unfailingly polite, excellent at their work, thorough and efficient. They cleaned up beautifully at the end of every day. The carpenters who did the porch and garage repairs were also very skilled, hardworking, efficient, and neat. The house and garage look terrific, and my neighbors have complimented their work. The project was expensive, but the work was performed better than less expensive jobs done on this house before.

The initial project assessment was professionally done. Pricing was a tad on the high side, but felt it might be worth it. It was. This service was for soft wash of house siding, power wash of mahogany deck and shed, removal of old shutters and installation of new ones (purchased by owner). The team that came to perform the services were polite, professional, punctual, and most importantly, did a wonderful job.

After reading many reviews on many different companies, I chose Tom Curren Companies. They had the best reviews, and now I see why. I needed extensive repair on the trim, porch railings, fence and arbor. Also, the main portion of the house was due for painting. Communication with them was excellent. Always showed up when they said they would, and let me know what they were doing and asked any questions if needed about how I wanted things completed. Total work took about 3 weeks, and included wash and hand scrub the house, repair work, spot prime new work, and 2 coats of paint. All work was completed late in the year, October, except for the front door. It needed a special paint that required 70 degrees or more to apply. When the weather was warm enough, they returned to complete the door, and a few touchups on the trim. Everything looks great. Couldn't ask for a better experience with a contractor. They are very professional and dependable. I would definitely use them for any future work. Highest recommendation from me!

I hired Tom Curren Companies to complete several pesky maintenance tasks in/on our 45-year-old home: repair and stain our decks, caulk bathtubs, fix several door locks, and remove moss from our roof. Objectively, these are not the most satisfying of jobs, but Curren's team brought to each one an impressive level of professionalism, patience, and determination to set things right. In every case, they succeeded. Sandro and his team carefully prepared our decks for staining--including hand-sanding rough areas, on hands and knees. Sandro got a perfect match for the stain, and his crew applied it carefully yet generously. There was no skimping, and there were no stray droplets on the patio and walkway below. Joe, the handyman, did a thorough, tidy job of caulking two bathtubs. He also got the locks on three external doors to work smoothly again; in one case he had to adjust and tighten both hinges and lock plates to get everything aligned. Our locks work better than ever. Joe also succeeded in removing the moss that had been developing on our garage roof, moss that had resisted several previous attempts at removal. Joe's experience, his instinct to think hard about solving each problem efficiently and effectively, and his determination to prevail in every case, is both refreshing and admirable. I'd again turn to Sandro, to Joe, and to Tom Curren's extended team to address any and all of our home maintenance issues--which with time and age, seem to abound.

Our 1935 bungalow was overdue for a paint job. The Curren team were very professional. They came early and worked late. They sanded the peeling siding down to the wood, making the final result especially smooth. They were courteous and hardworking, and easy to have on site for the 10 days it took them to finish the job. We are very pleased with their work.

Working with Tom and his crew was an exceptional experience. Everyone came when they said they would, did what they said they would, and charged what they said they would. I was treated with respect and consideration. I thank both Amanda and Lisa in the office for organizing the different aspects of the job and letting me know who was coming and when. Recently I had my master bedroom painted. The room is approximately 20x10 with slanted ceilings The paint had previously peeled and needed to be scraped and a skim coated was needed. The painters did a great job fixing all the uneven surfaces as well as paining walls, ceiling and built in book shelves. With all the scraping and sanding they did a great job keeping the house clean. I was very impressed on how they kept the dust to a minimum. I would recommend them for any in home paint project. It looks great and there was minimal inconvenience..

We recently moved houses and hired Tom Curren Companies to paint the interior of our new home. I was so pleased with the attention to detail that was placed on the care of our newly sanded and stained floors, and moulding and trim work. We hired Tom Curren Companies to paint two sides of our house plus touch-ups on the other sides and also porch railings prior to putting the house on the market. They had painted the house eight years earlier and the work had lasted very well. Humberto, the crew chief, was excellent. He did a good job of previewing the work to be done. Once the job started, his communication skills were excellent. We knew when he was going to be working, what he was doing and how long the job would take. His work habits and those of his assistant were "non-nonsense:" hard working, good attention to detail and great cleanup. When we reviewed the completed work, he quickly touched up areas that we pointed out. We have no reservations about recommending this company fully.

We hired Tom Curren Companies on the recommendation of a friend of a friend. We needed to have a tub and shower enclosure tiled and a drop ceiling replaced. We were very pleased with everyone who was involved in this project. We had the old tiles removed and replaced. The new were a perfect match. The workman were very professional, arrived on time and always did a great job with the clean up.The finished product looks great. We especially like the suggestions made such as installing grab bars. A great idea which we had not thought of. We would highly recommend this company.

We hired Tom Curren to do a master bath remodel and master bedroom painting job (2012). The remodel was most complicated and involved several moving parts: we wanted to hire most of the subs (plumbers and shower glass, vanities, etc.) ourselves and then Tom Curren did the rest - demo, install shower, new window, drywall, paint, install fixtures, etc. They also provided subs (eg installing river stone in shower) for when we didn't have a particular sub we wanted to use. The remodeling was slightly delayed because of scheduling with the subs, etc., but everything came out really well and looks great! They also fixed a wall that was knocked out during the demo process at no charge to us (patched drywall and painted). I also note that the cost was about $10K lower than the other full-service contractors who quoted the job. We also used them for painting our foyer, vestibule, and breakfast room in our house (2011) and for painting the exterior trim (2009?). Painting is a particular strength of theirs - they do a ton of prep work, patching, etc. and our very old plaster walls look GREAT. They also double checked all the colors with us before starting (we had leftover paint that we had them use) to confirm that they were correct. On the exterior job, they put down giant drop cloths to protect our plants from paint chips. They were also cognizant of keeping the dust, etc. down since we had young kids and a baby in the house during the interior jobs - they vacuumed after every day of work and had a plastic sealing door to keep the dust out of the rest of the house as much as possible.

Umberto and his associate removed an old built-in cabinet and painted our dining room walls and ceiling. They also converted the woodwork from wood stain with varnish or something, to painted. The work is beautifully done and we're enjoying the fresh, more open space. They were neat and efficient and took away all debris. Bryan helped us get large color samples as we chose our color, going from white to a muted but sunny yellow. I didn't think we needed to do the ceiling, but he advised us to take the opportunity -- that is was grayer than we realized, and it was a good idea. Just before the job date, we had a leak in a bathroom, which damaged the ceiling below. Umberto's team efficiently added a ceiling patch and paint to the job. Because the lighting was dark that day, they missed a couple of spots in our not-brightly-lit bathroom. It was very easy to schedule them to come back for a quick fixup. Tom Curren Companies is not the cheapest choice around, but this is the second time I've hired them for indoor work. Their professional results are worth it.

For many years I watched the storm door flip around in the wind,feel the cold seep through the bathroom window and look at walls around me that needed paint with updated colors. Finally and once again I called Tom Curren Co.All my needs were met. Barry was here within a day or 2 assessing each project and giving fair estimates. What I most appreciate is advice but with no pressure to do more than I had planned. As always,each project was completed on time. Marto worked diligently in the frigid weather but got the job done. I now have a beautiful and energy efficient door and window. Several times I have had interior painting.They do an excellent job and I'm always impressed by their efficiency and clean up.

Work: 1. Clean existing gutters 2. Install gutters on extension with a flat roof which had been built without gutters (and run off was causing erosion and problems) 3. Add an extra down spout to a long section of roof needing an extra downspout. Comments: Tom Curren's gutter crew did a great job. For the gutter cleaning they identified loose fittings and tightened them without extra charge or any fuss. This is more than I expected. For the new section of gutter, they previewed the work the day before and the foreman made some suggestions I had not thought about. They told me what would be involved, when and where they needed access to the property and what time the job would start and should be completed. The job went exactly as planned without a hitch and they checked in with me at the end to make sure it was complete to my satisfaction. Of particular importance to me was the risk of damage to some new plants and shrubs around the area of the new gutter work. Even though the ladders had to be in amongst the new shrubs, there was no damage. They were extremely careful and professional.

This is the second time I have used Tom Curren painters, this time just one room taking advantage of the winter special discount for repeat customers. Very easy to work with from start to finish. They estimated the job within a few days of my contacting the office, got the job done within a few weeks at a time convenient for me. Painters arrived on time ready to work, finished in a day, left everything neat and clean. The paint job looks great. Will use them again.

Tom Curren Companies painted our house and replaced the shutters in 2005. His team did a terrific job and completed on time and on budget. I then hired them to remodel a bathroom. Again, the work was done professionally and on time. After that, I hired them to remodel our kitchen and master bath. Tom's team did a great job with both, and were very helpful in making suggestions about color, materials, appliances, etc. I also have Tom's handyman team check the exterior of our house periodically to identify and repair/replace anything that needs it. I have always been happy with the results.

Tom Curren's painters have been painting the inside and outside of my house for the past 15 years. Our house is large, so they paint two sides one year, and the other two sides the next. They always work within our budget. The painting job lasted nearly 10 years. The painters are quiet, pay incredible attention to detail and are very pleasant to work with. I have an 1849 antique home. As you can imagine, a home of this age needs constant and careful attention. Tom and his crew have done an outstanding job helping me maintain the house exterior by performing exterior siding and trim repair and repainting. Since both Tom and I believe in preservation, they carefully stripped the old paint to bare wood, restored the damaged areas, and repainted leaving much of the original hardwood clapboards intact. I have had them back several times to do additional work and have consistently been very pleased with the results. I also appreciate how Tom always takes the time to come out to the house to talk with me about any new project work. In addition, his management team and entire crew are all top-notch, very professional, and highly skilled.

I've had many projects done by the Tom Curran Co. The whole process of dealing with them was excellent. They provided us with a quote which you discuss with them before the quote is put together. The execution of the various jobs were done at the highest quality level by extremely skilled craftsmen. They set a date and the jobs are done on the date quoted except when the weather interfered; and they finish on time. They have painted the exterior of my house, painted rooms inside, done extensive carpentry outside, replaced shingles, replaced gutters, as well as cleaned moss off my roof. We worked with Tom Curren Companies in September 2014 to build a walk-in closet shell from scratch in our Master Bedroom space. From design consultation with Bryan Powell, to carpentry with Herbert, and painting with Sherpa, we felt the project was well-priced and well-managed. The tradesmen were knowledgeable, and offered recommendations to help keep cost in check and the job on schedule. They were clean, kept the work area clean, and helped keep dust and debris to a bare minimum, which was a big help as we were still using the room at night. It was a pleasure to use Tom Curren Companies again, and we will continue to use them for future projects.

Needed to update paint in living room, so I called Tom and we discussed the job. His bid was I thought very reasonable. I agreed to go ahead. The showed up at the appointed time did a great job. They even did a couple of touch ups in other rooms at no charge. (I had the paint) The men that showed up were professionals, precisely painted the woodwork, doors, windows and walls, cleaned up everything and were done with minimal disruption. I am very happy with the outcome, and would recommend them highly.

We have used Tom Curren Painting on several occasions for interior and exterior painting, and recently, they did a kitchen remodelling project which included refinishing some oak cabinets which had been salvaged from a college chemistry lab. They also built several new cabinets to match the old ones. The kitchen job also involved some electrical rewiring, lighting planning, and minor plumbing changes. Tom Curren has always given us estimates which have been close to the final cost. The work has been done on time as planned, and the work areas have been kept clean during the project and cleaned well at the end. The painters, carpenters, and plumbers have been pleasant, courteous, and careful, and we have felt comfortable having them in the house, even when we were not present.

We've used Tom Curran companies for 8 years, starting with a whole house exterior paint job in 2005 which was done so well we never even considered other companies...they are not the least expensive but the extra is well worth it. The first time they painted the house the paint job lasted almost twice as long as previous paint jobs, done by others. They have painted it again since, and we are more than satisfied. We also have had them do interior painting and minor repairs, always done on time, on budget and leaving the house as clean (or better) than when they started.

We hired Tom Curren Companies to paint our three story Victorian duplex. The job included stripping 75% of the house down to bare wood and then painting it. We were extremely happy with the two man crew of Serpa and Gerhardt. They were careful, thorough, and cleaned up well every day. They were friendly, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We also hired the color consultant, Sage, who was fabulous. She helped us find all the right colors and the locations for trim and accent. She was professional, patient, and came up with a design we love which has garnered many compliments. The workmanship was excellent and the price was as quoted. The only change orders were ones initiated by us. The carpentry work done by Gilmore was skilled and of high quality. The company also provides a great financing option. A few things were not so impressive. The salesman/overseer was most charming. However, the start time, size of crew, length of project, and follow up plans were not as discussed, even allowing for weather issues. Communication was, at first, an issue. Many people seem to work there but they did not seem to communicate well with each other or with us. We had a number of differing messages during the beginning stages of the project. About half way through, we began to deal only with crew chief, Serpa, and Sage. This worked out well because they were knowledgeable, professional, and followed up on things. We love how the house turned out and are very happy with the quality of the work. However, the confusion and lack of communication within the company was a major concern.

Rather, you will get a very pleasant sounding and accommodating voice of a real person who is intelligent and quickly understands what your needs are and schedules an appointment, which, for me, is an immediate relief knowing that a qualified and professional handyman will actually show up. My particular handyman needs have been many, resulting in several appointments over the course of a year. Joe, the handyman who is the one who comes to my house, is very capable and has never disappointed me in his quality of work. He is easy to work with, patient, very nice and accommodating. I decided to paint the outside of our 4,500sq.ft. house this year as it was due. The Curren Companies had done the previous job. Tom came out and gave us a good quote so we did not get a second quote. his people, Gilmar the carpenter, Humberto and Gilman the on site leaders, and Melissa the scheduler where great. Sage Cont did a great job in helping us adapt but not dramatically change the color scheme. It all came out superbly.

Excellent service and quality of work. We needed to replace our wood gutters. They came when scheduled (or called ahead if anything changed), carefully evaluated our needs, discussed options (patch vs replace), provided estimates, recommended a best course of action, completed the work with the highest level of craftsmanship, and completed it on time and for the price agreed upon. I have used Curren for multiple painting and carpentry projects over many years and will continue to do so. Everyone we have worked with is courteous and great to have working in and around our home. They show pride in their work and a commitment to doing a good job. They are just what a home owner needs to address the variety of large and small projects that are beyond our tradition to "do it ourselves".

I had several companies come and talk with me about totally redoing and old bathroom. Tom Curren's group were the last. It was clear they have had a great deal of experience redoing bathrooms and seemed to readily understand what I was wanting, which was an appealing but not fancy bathroom. They were very organized about the steps they take to ensure that all of the personnel - electricians, plumbers, etc. knew what they were getting into before they came up with an estimate. They provided an outstanding design person - Sage Conti - to help me make selections of items including appliances, tile, etc. About 2/3s of the way through the project, Sage took more responsibility because of a change in personnel and she did that additional job extremely well and responsively. I had access to an overall manager as well as frequent contact with carpenter, Mark, who also supervised the other work. The resulting bathroom is outstanding. I have many positive things to say about this company and will hire them again to do several other old bathrooms in my house. I have two complaints. One is that I was told that the job would take 2 to 4 weeks, and as time went on, I saw they had to have known it would take longer. It ended up taking two days more than 7 weeks. The other small complaint is that the supervision of one plumber became lax, creating an unfortunate event with my psychotherapy practice, in a home office.

I love these painters! They are fast, clean, professional and communicate their questions and recommendations very well. This company has helped me with ice dam repair as well as redecorating, and my friend used them at my suggestion to prep a home prior to sale, and she was very pleased, too.
