The contractor worked long days to complete the job. The wrong ridge vents were used during the roof installation. (the entire roof was removed and replaced) Therefore, the next spring we had condensation in our attic that leaked into the house. The owner did come back and corrected the issue. However we were left with mold in our brand new roof. This he did not correct. His insurance did not cover mold removal and neither did our home owner's insurance. As a result our homeowner's insurance dropped us and we stil have mold in our attic. My mother had hired the same contractor and had the same issue. She had water leaking into her living room through the lighting that he also installed. The drywallers that were hired by this contracter left plaster dust and residue all over the floors. We had to scrub the floors on our hands and knees to remove so that the carpet installers could install the carpet. The contracter used our bathroom every morning, apparently he's quite regular. Once he even had to ask for a plunger. There were other things that were either not completed or not done properly. Over all it was a sloppy job. This was our first remodeling project and we learned a lesson. Even if a contractor is licensed and insured it doesn't mean you are covered if they do something wrong.
