“I am thrilled to write a letter of recommendation for Margaret Chambers. When my husband and I started building a home in 2006, things were not going well. I was frustrated with the builder and the interior designer who kept steering me in directions that I did not want to go. I felt totally inadequate and overwhelmed with the many choices I was faced with making, and I just couldn’t get across to the interior designer the look and feel I wanted for my new home. She just didn’t seem to be listening to me. What made the situation worse was that I was also working full time as a physician and was crunched for time. In a desperate attempt to remedy this situation, I went out and got tons of design books and magazines and started dog-earring pages of design that I liked. Consistently the pages that I flagged were many of Margaret’s designs which had been featured in the publications. I remember the day well. It was late Friday afternoon. I was once again going through my selections and was faced with making some serious decisions about the house for a deadline the next week. I was anxious and feeling defeated. On a whim I placed a call to Margaret and two other designers asking them for a return call. Within the hour Margaret returned my call and agreed to meet with me the next day, a Saturday, in her office. I did not get a return call from the other two designers till late the following week. Right from the start Margaret was helpful and reassuring. She told me what to bring to the meeting and asked about the timeline for construction. She looked at my pictures, went through the blueprints for the house and really seemed to listen to what I was telling her about how I wanted my home to look and feel. Although she was quite busy she agreed to help. In retrospect, I think she saw how desperate and out of my element I was. Margaret saved my life! She contacted the builder, constructed a timeline, narrowed my choices and made all the arrangements with the different vendors for the services and items that were needed. She created a color board with carpets, paint colors and fabrics and drew a design to scale for each room. Throughout the project she helped me make difficult decisions and was honest with me about my choices. Margaret and her staff were extremely professional and easy to work with. Margaret was very good about working with me to accommodate my work schedule. Everything was delivered in a timely manner and Margaret was there to make sure everything went smoothly. There were no hidden fees and I was informed of the exact price for each item or service. Margaret was very respectful of my budget and helped me make choices that were within my budget. I cannot say enough about Margaret’s design abilities and her astute eye for style. She really worked hard to make my home uniquely me. She helped make choices that created a timeless design for my house that I would not grow tired of or worry about going out of style. She very carefully listened to my likes and dislikes and really got a feel for what I wanted in a design. I was constantly amazed and surprised with all the wonderful pieces of furniture and one of kind knickknacks that she found for me! Each time she found something, it was like Christmas! Margaret turned an unpleasant experience that I had come to dread, into a wonderful adventure and learning experience for me. I literally could not have done it without her. I shudder to think about all the horrible mistakes and the large amount of money I would have wasted if I hadn’t had her assistance. Instead, I come home from work every day to a beautiful home that I enjoy and love. It’s been several years since I decorated my home and I still would not change a thing. With Margaret’s help my lovely home exceeded all my expectations and that’s saying a lot coming from a perfectionist! I have continued to work with Margaret over the years. I still depend on her wisdom and talent to help me with various projects. I recommend her highly for anyone considering building a home, remodeling or desiring a truly fabulous décor!”
