Arcadia Kitchen and Bath
Bathroom Design in Portland Maine
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJanuary 24, 2022
This was my first-ever bathroom remodel. The finished project is clean, cohesive and stylish, without being too trendy. The design guidance from Arcadia was excellent and all my questions were answered promptly. In pandemic times, with supply issues, it was so helpful to have the Arcadia team track down missing/late items or suggest replacements. The process was worry free and the results are just what I hoped for.

Sarah exhibits confidence and organization. She listens carefully and respectfully to me and I assume other clients. She has very good, up to date, ideas and will do her best to source products and services. She recommended a great contractor and followed up with them while we were away. Although there was an unforeseen issue with the construction, Sarah quickly dispatched a revision of the plans. However, the most professional quality Sarah exhibited was her timely response to my emails and phone calls. Did I mention her attention to detail...going out of her way to order the perfect knobs for a project she didn't even plan?

My husband is very handy so we knew he could do the work. Problem was we didn’t have a design plan. I decided to call a professional. From the initial phone call, I felt I could work with Becky. She asked lots of pertinent questions, and I scheduled a home consultation. The project was a living room in a 30 year old house which hadn’t been redecorated in 20 years. We have views of a lake, so a nautical theme seemed natural. After much discussion, Becky suggested a “nautical shabby chic decor” complete with chandelier and seashells. She mentioned several architectural changes, such as taking down a 3/4 high wall near the stairs and installing a horizontal window over the fireplace. Just these 2 ideas added much-needed light into the room. We added white faux beams to the ceiling, a warm ash hardwood floor, and gorgeous grey walls (not a color I would have considered until I saw her picture board). What I especially liked was that she also helped me choose some wonderful, inexpensive accent pieces - a 4 foot sailboat on a shelf over our piano, cut glass lamps to enhance the chandelier, and a beautiful golden rug. These were found in consignment stores! We found Becky easy to talk to and she had out-of-the-box ideas! She listened to what we told her. She is an excellent communicator, and doesn’t try to talk you into something you are not comfortable with. Becky was reliable and when she says she will call you, she does. We would definitely recommend her to anyone who is thinking about a design plan. The outcome is a stunning room that we will be able to enjoy for years to come!

We love the friendly, professional staff at INDISCO. They've help us with a few projects over the years. Dave was kind enough to measure and order a small counter for our office. The job went so well we used INDISCO again when we remodeled our kid's bathroom. I look forward to having them plan our new kitchen some day.

Sharon offers sound advice on how to create an efficient kitchen with a variety of amenities. She has excellent communication, follow up, and problem solving skills. Sharon's knowledge of cabinetry convinced me to use her expertise in our bathrooms as well. The kitchen is a beautiful space in which to work and entertain.

I have worked with Robin, providing stone countertops for her kitchen and bath projects, over the last 7 years. Her designs are always thoughtful and reflect an understanding of her client's lifestyle and personality. When she brings her clients to our showroom they always seem relaxed and comfortable with her sense of what will work with the design. We appreciate a designer like Robin who listens well and provides strong direction at the same time.

Very relaxed staff with a good mix of traditional and modern styles. Great displays. Pricing is not the least expensive but the quality is very good. They also have a hardware/outdoor space business so it is a one-stop shop for many area customers.

Morningstar has the privilege of working with many of Maine’s finest companies in the residential building industry. The Kennebec Company is certainly right at the top of this list. We’ve had an ongoing business relationship with them for many years. Our team knows that when Kennebec calls with a project it is going to be extremely well designed and executed. Both our fabrication and installation teams enjoy working with these very talented people. The final product is always something special to behold.

12 years ago Curtis said he wanted to become the most important tool in my "tool-box"....he succeeded !! His cabinet and woodworking production is second to none. His attention to detail, design and finishing skills and the professionalism of his operation have made him a favorite sub-contractor of all my customers. I am regularly asked by customers, new and old, to start projects with his design help and he always comes through for my company as well as my customers. Both Curtis as well as those who work for him are a class act and a pleasure to work with. I have used Zarse Custom Cabinet Company on many projects over the last 12 years with his work ranging in cost from $100 to $50,000.
