“From the moment we met Karina in our old kitchen, she instantly grasped our priorities. She presented floor plan options that perfectly hit our goals for our Pacific Beach home. Incredibly, after just two meetings, we had a new layout selected and were already choosing finishes. Based on of our earliest conversations, Karina was able to read our style and presented us with hand-selected cabinetry finishes, countertops, and backsplash tile options. We felt “heard” and together we narrowed down selections, bringing us confidence in our choices. After almost a year, we can confidently say everything is exactly where it "should" be. The new layout is absolutely fantastic! Extending our kitchen into our existing garage, we gained a dedicated scullery area complete with ovens, a second refrigerator, cleanup sink, and dishwasher. The new pass-thru windows from our patio directly into the scullery make clearing dinner items painless and remarkably organized. It's wonderful how our main kitchen stays neat and organized even as we transition from dinner to dessert and drinks. Our family and friends adore the seamless indoor/outdoor atmosphere. Karina made the entire design process engaging and exciting, consistently guiding us forward with ease. Despite the scope of the construction, the entire project unfolded with impressive smoothness. “I was looking for a kitchen designer and found Fisher Gross on Houzz last November 2019. We met with Karen at Fisher Gross soon thereafter. She gave us 3 plans--all different which were amazing. She had ideas that we (and others who looked at the existing floor plan) had never dreamed of. We picked one of three plans then met with her later after she had fine tuned and detailed the plan we chose. We also hired her to over see the project from the start to finish for a reasonable fee. Although not required, we used the contractor and subs she recommended since she had worked with them before. She was also very hands on and met me at vendors showrooms to help me chose counter tops, flooring, lighting, fixtures, etc. Unfortunately our project started right before COVID hit so there were a few snags but she stuck with us and made sure everything went as smoothly as possible. I highly recommend Fisher Gross (and Karen). She has extensive knowledge and is a licensed general contractor in addition to being from a family of cabinet makers. This was huge because she knew what could and could not be done and could communicate well with our contractor. She was a delight to work with and returned my calls quickly.”
