She guided us to which property to buy and ultimately we choose two units to combine to a fine 3000 sq ft Penthouse in the Sky! We were more than thrilled by the outcome of the construction project, even though we spared no expense we couldn't be more please by the attention to detail, the follow through she executed even while she was in another state. We had bi-weekly meetings on the job site to view the progress on the design that fully implemented before we began construction. “I recently contracted Bassman-Blaine to furnish a very high end vacation rental that I own on Maui. Prior to engaging Bassman-Blaine, I met with a number of designers that had been recommended by the developer, as well as representatives from a number of the retail furniture outlets on Maui. After meeting with others, I found Ken Bassman, Bill Blaine and their staff to be the most engaged in my project. They really listened to me in order to get an idea of my design tastes, and then fulfilled those desires with a complete furnishings package in the limited timeframe they were allotted. The unit that I furnished was new construction, and came with all of the issues that are typical to new construction, i.e. uncertainty of completion date, construction delays, etc. Ken Bassman was a pleasure to work with, especially under those stressful conditions. He essentially removed that stress from my life by taking over the project, updating me periodically, and assuring me that everything would be completed on time. Ken and his team coordinated, procured, and installed all of the furnishings. It was incredible, all I had to do was tell them about my tastes, show them some pictures in a magazine, and they provided me with a completely, beautifully furnished home!! When I was faced with unexpected construction delays, Bassman-Blaine again took care of things for me, arranging for delayed transport, storage, etc, all the while minimizing any additional costs related to the delays. From a design perspective, I could not have been happier with the furnishings that Bassman-Blaine put together for my unit. The products are high quality, durable, luxurious, and comfortable. The colors all work together, and the finished product is just beautiful. My unit has been rented often, and all of the guests have commented about how much they enjoyed staying there. One of my greatest concerns when hiring a design firm, was cost, and more specifically, hidden costs. Bassman-Blaine was a pleasure to work with on this level as well. In comparison to the others that I interviewed, I found their costs to be exceptional for the quantity, and quality, of goods that they provided. I especially appreciated the upfront and honest way that they do business. I was provided with a spreadsheet of items that would be provided, and one final price. Never, never, never was I told that an item could not be procured for the price originally anticipated, or that there was some issue that had not been previously expected, that would result in increased cost to me. Ken Bassman was reliable, and true to his word. In the end, my home was furnished on time, within budget, and in beautiful condition. Bassman-Blaine has truly earned my respect and my recommendation. My home has now been heavily occupied by vacation renters for close to ten months. The furnishings still look new, which is a testament to the quality of the products that Bassman-Blaine provided to me. I would definitely use them again on a future project.”
