“We had the pleasure of working with Alderwood Landscaping to design our dream backyard this summer. From the very beginning, they stood out from the other companies we received quotes from. We first met Bryan, their landscape architect, who is incredibly gifted and put extensive time and detail into his designs. He successfully transformed our list of requirements into a beautiful, functional space. This was no easy task given our small yard and city-required rain garden, but Bryan researched every aspect to ensure we followed all municipal codes, going well beyond what other companies offered. We also greatly appreciated his extensive knowledge of plants and trees, his diverse selections, and his careful placement of each one. Once the design was finalized, we worked with Johnny, who was personable, responsive, and highly organized. He coordinated the project seamlessly, kept us informed throughout the process, and quickly resolved the few minor issues that arose. We valued his honest and effective communication. Next, we met Alex, who is extremely hardworking, respectful, and excellent at problem-solving. His top-tier crew (Yovanie, Gilberto, and Pablo) put an incredible amount of effort into the project, and their craftsmanship truly shows in the final results. We knew we were in the best of hands. Finally, we met Justin, who handles warranties. His attention to detail, high standards, and knowledge were refreshing and solidified our great experience. While we received bids from other companies that were significantly cheaper, they did not pay attention to critical details. Several assumed we could cover the rain garden or build into the hill, which would have resulted in expensive violations since the rain garden is non-negotiable. Alderwood took the time to research our yard's specific restrictions and stay within code, delivering a final product that exceeded our expectations. We got exactly what we paid for and couldn't be happier with our dream yard.”

“We had a landscape project that we had been putting off for years and finally hired Michael to design and install our front and side yard. Not only was he incredibly responsive, but he is a plant nerd in the best way, has a wealth of experience, and takes pride in his well-honed craft. The project included a flagstone path/patio, a rock wall, and numerous plantings. He listened well to our ideas and gave us two designs to choose from. From there the installation timeline was quick and he was on site for all of it, making sure that everything went according to plan. We are completing the project in two phases due to seasonal availability of plants. We were very happy with the result of phase 1 and are looking forward to working with Michael again on phase 2. Our only regret is that we didn’t start the project with him sooner, which we would have if we had known it would be this painless. We have already recommended him to our friends who have hired him for their project as well.”

“The team at True Scape has been very helpful in my rather large landscaping project. From the initial meeting with Joe, to the design with Da, to implementation with Ian and the crew, it's been a rather long engagement as we've had to ensure proper scheduling with our home remodel working in parallel. The initial assessment and design was great, and we appreciated the renderings to envision the space. We were able to align on a vision pretty quickly with only a few small revisions. Once we got started on the actual landscape construction, we had numerous discussions to ensure the plan was followed and that my concerns were addressed with workarounds and change orders. Even when I hit a snag with other contractors, they stepped in to help rectify the issues. One of the only things that I think they could improve on is a bit more communication around timing of certain aspects. It was sometimes a challenge to know what to expect with so many moving parts. That said, I think exact dates are probably tough given the scope of my project as well as the different adjustments we needed. Through it all, the foreman (Ian) was super helpful and the rest of the crew worked tirelessly to get the job as close to the original plans as possible. I now have a yard surrounding my home that uses the space much better, and compliments my new renovated home. I recommend this team to anyone thinking about a large project. They are definitely up to the challenge!”
