“Mrs. Anjali had created a unique design for our front yard. She worked diligently with us every step of this project because we did not know what we want, what would be appropriate for our climate zone and our particular location. She was very patient, understanding and kind. We appreciated that! She explained thoroughly the ins and outs of this project. We were particularly impressed with her knowlege of plants and flowers, it was fun to work with her. Our front yard has been outgrowing and was not taken care of for years. Mrs. Anjali turned it into a beautiful shrubs and flower bed. She took out some old bushes and trees, kept our favorite Japanese maple (which one couldn't even see) and incorporated it into her design. And we loved the choice of shrubs and flowers she made! One more thing to add --- she managed to stay on budget! She is a very resourceful designer.”

“Dede Delaney and Redtwig Garden Design have been working with me on our gardens since 2010. Redtwig has installed a cottage style front border featuring native species and herbs, a cutting garden, a shade border under spruce and white birch, and a blueberry and cranberry border on our pond, a lilac and peony border and provided maintenance and upgrades to existing areas. Dede is always mindful of our budget and has arrived and completed projects in a timely manner. Her suggestions are always helpful, her designs are impactful, her attitude is willing and cooperative. It will be my pleasure to continue working with Dede and Redtwig Garden Design -- I have recommended her to family and friends -- they have been equally pleased and impressed.”

“McKechnie Associates designed and built a portico on the front of my house to give it more character. The end result was beautiful. I am extremely happy with the work. Paul and his crew were very professional at all times. They answered all the questions I had about the process. The crew who did the job worked extremely hard. It is very easy to see they take pride in the work they do and do not take shortcuts. I have received many compliments from neighbors on how nice the portico looks. I highly recommend McKechnie associates and plan on using them again to put in a new walkway in the near future.”

“Our experience working with Jason and The Gardeners has been nothing short of outstanding! When we purchased our house, the backyard was wooded and dark, with a small deck and an overgrown and poorly constructed pergola. Jason provided us with a landscaping plan that was beyond our imagination -- and The Gardeners took that vision and made it a reality. Our outdoor space is now the highlight of our home -- complete with an outdoor kitchen and dining area, multi-level bluestone patio, firepit, gunite pool, and poolhouse -- all complimented with beautiful trees and plantings and dramatic lighting. We were especially impressed at Jason's careful planning and selection of plantings -- there is never a time that something new is not blooming providing us with continuous color throughout the seasons! Jason's design has provided us with a space that is not only aesthetically beautiful but also perfectly functional for our family and for our love of outdoor entertaining. Jason is easy to work with, is a great listener and has incredible landscaping knowledge, design sense and attention to detail. Throughout our project, he was always available and responsive, and the work was done in a timely and professional manner. “Seoane Landscape Design was hired to build an outdoor patio, kitchen, fireplace, and water feature in a relatively small outdoor space. They spent a considerable amount of time listening to our ideas and goals for the project before coming up with a elegant design that was both consistent with our vision and within our predetermined budget. We also talked with several other potential contractors but chose Seoane because of their reputation for excellent craftsmanship, ability to meet deadlines, and outstanding customer service. Seoane lived up to their reputation in every way. During the project phase, they were very responsive to questions that arose along the way, coordinated effectively with other involved professionals (plumbing, electrical, irrigation), and maintained an organized, safe work area. When we made a few adjustments to the plan mid project, they happily accommodated, showcasing their extensive knowledge when thinking through the technical implications, and still completed the project on time. They also treated our project as if it was being built for a family member, examining the quality of the work performed each day and making enhancements where needed to ensure it met their high standards. We loved the outcome as well as the experience and would use Seoane again without question. We highly recommend Seoane to anyone looking for an extremely competent, professional, and reliable contractor for their outdoor landscaping or masonry project.”

“We hired Melissa to draw up landscaping plans for a garage re-build project. We needed plans for the hardscaping of new stairs and walkways leading from the street and garage to our house, as well as a landscaping/ planting plan. Melissa took on a difficult project, as we are on a hill with complicated grading issues. She was totally up for the task! She developed a plan, beautiful drawings, a budget outline, and contractor bid documents all within a short time frame, as we were late to realize the scope of what we needed. She met with us and explained everything. She is a true professional and a very nice person to work with. She always responded promptly to any extra requests, like dealing with the city of Boston Public Works Department about a new-curb cut application. FYI, our project took about a year to get permit approval in Boston, which is ridiculous, but unfortunately not unusual. We now expect to start the demolition this August 2017, so that's why there are no images. I will upload some once the landscaping is done. I whole-heartedly recommend M. A. Desjardins Landscape Architecture! You are definitely getting your money's worth if you hire Melissa. I am updating my review posted June 2016. The project was finally completed this spring, 2018, after many delays (not due to Melissa, as she was not contracted to do project management). An important note to add was Melissa's level-head and commitment through it all. After the concrete pourers did not follow the driveway plans and missed the stone paving details that were required through the City's Planning office, Melissa suggested we hold off on sawcutting and removing those concrete sections, which may have compromised the remainder of the concrete, until the Building Inspection came to review it. In the end, we were not required to remove the concrete, which saved us time and money by not needing to install that stone paving detail. I am also finally posting some pictures!”
