“After thinking about our project for over a year and interviewing 4-5 landscape/design build companies, we decided to go with Terra Rubina. Excellent decision! From our first meeting, Juliana brought incredibly positive energy and enthusiasm for our project. She listened carefully to understand the aesthetic we were going for (modern asian-fusion, whatever that is), and after coming back from a trip to Japan was bursting with ideas. She had strong opinions about what she thought would work, but was open to feedback and adapted the plan, although not without some intense discussion and occasional debate. We took that as her wanting the final product to be as wonderful as it could be. After we agreed on the design, her build team started their work, ranging from building out a new IPE deck, to hardscaping, to a new lawn and plant installation, to installing lighting in our japanese lanterns, to adapting our irrigation system. They were incredibly pleasant, reliable, showed up when they said they would, and cleaned up after themselves. After one of the plants that was moved at our request died, she came out and replaced it with no questions asked. Terra Rubina is a boutique and bespoke landscape design company, so their cost structure reflects that. Juliana was transparent with us at all stages about costs, giving detailed line items that allowed us to make trade-off designs with full information. They aren't the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. Now that the project is done, the curb appeal of our home has been substantially improved, and the backyard has been transformed from a basic yard to a thoughtfully designed garden that always generates compliments from guests and has been a very welcome place and restful space to work and entertain.”
