Jeff and the rest of the Abundant Design crew are awesome! We initially called Jeff to help us with landscape design around our house. He helped us think about things that we had both never considered like a rain garden that the City of Des Moines significantly subsidizes (almost half the cost for us!) He helped us figure out how to fund the project and when he and the crew came out and put in the rain garden and orchard, it's so beautiful! Total win/win/win for the City of Des Moines in helping keep (at least our) runoff out of the sewers, in providing food for us and our furry/non-furry neighbors, and for our pollinators who have already started their amazing work! Jeff is easy to work with, a font of information and advice and a lot of fun!

Jeff and Abundant Design have been wonderful to work with - Jeff is so knowledgeable and helped us envision and put into reality a really cool space. He shares his knowledge and expertise with us so we have been able to continue to maintain it. He continues to offer his support even though the bulk of the project is complete. He's responsive and timely and we're really happy with the work!

I can't say enough good things about Jeff and his crew! We had such a difficult yard with a steep slope and lots of water problems. We wanted to cut down on mowing, turn most of the yard from grass to native plants that benefit the environment and utilize the water run-off. Jeff came up with a plan to address ALL of our needs. He even offered me advice on where to plant some fruit trees the year BEFORE he came up with a design for our yard, based on the topography of our lot. Our project included many different elements like moving our raised beds and compost bins to be more accessible, working around existing plantings, building a waterfall and pond, installing steps on a steep hill, putting in a patio and fire pit and making a rain garden. He incorporated everything we asked for into the plan. Jeff (and his team) were kind, knowledgeable, patient, flexible, enthusiastic, dependable, hard-working and above all - Jeff CAME BACK to complete the job after coming out to look at the potential project (which none of the other 4 or 5 contractors we tried to hire did after seeing what they were up against!) We are so pleased with the design Jeff developed and I am excited to see all of the plants grow, bloom and produce in coming years. We love our new yard and hope our neighbors, including the birds, bees and butterflies, will enjoy it, too!

Jeff/Abundant Design did a fantastic job on rain gardens and related landscaping in our backyard. Context was that a non-functional drainage system paired with a very large hill were creating frequent patio flooding and a swamp in the backyard after big rains. Jeff designed a swale/rain garden plan with rock creek to carry overflow, native plantings and new drainage for remaining water flow to street (which is greatly reduced). He partnered with me on the plan, helped with the DM storm water rebate process, explained everything patiently, and was very conscientious about the work. And the work - which Jeff completed himself — was reasonably priced and looks beautiful. Importantly, after the project was finished, we had several heavy downpours and the entire system worked very well! I highly recommend Jeff and AD!

Jeff just completed a couple of drainage projects for us. He will be back next spring with some landscaping ideas. He did a great job and was very prompt.

We hired Jeff (Anundant Design) to help us fix an area in our yard that was pooling water. The rain garden he installed is not only beautiful - it is functional and resolved our problem. Pictures show rain garden before and after Saturday’s rain storm. Thank you Jeff!

We hired Jeff to re-do our landscaping and update it with plants that would encourage pollinators and work in our chemical-free yard. He came up with a great plan with some very unique aspects, such as a rain garden (which he connected with a city program for partial reimbursement!), a spiral herb garden and a natural play area for our kids (which he made using a tree we had to take out)! He is always quick to respond and kept the project on time and budget.

Jeff designed landscaping for our 4.24 acre lot. He incorporated many unique bushes and trees and was able to source some of the harder-to-find species. He’s responsive and the nurseries he uses deliver quality products. Jeff offers installation services, but we decided to tackle the install ourselves. Great, honest guy!

Strongly recommend Jeff and Abundant Design! Very nice guy, timely and even went back and redid the southeast corner of my house when it wasn't quite what I had in mind! And they are affordable! We will stick with Abundant Design for any future work we may need! I'd give them more stars if I could!

We had Jeff design our family berry retreat and it was a wonderful, professional designed and managed project. It was done in a timely manner and we had a nice harvest from our new space. Jeff was kind enough to even give us advice and direction on our other garden on the other side of the house the we built on our own years before. He picked out the bad crops and the weeds for us and gave us a game plan going forward on what we need to do different to combat the problem and create the greatest amount of harvest for our family. We can't wait to see what this coming summer brings and we look forward to working with Abundant Design on other ideas for our backyard!!

My wife had been wanting a composting system for our home for some time, but none of the commercially available units accomplished quite what she was looking for: something ecologically friendly, built locally, expandable, which also made it easy to manage and transfer compost. Jeff came over and not only helped us custom-build a 'triple bin, cedar composting system', but also gave us some great tips on ornamental gardening and drainage for our back yard. If there was 6th star, I would give it to Jeff and Abundant Design!
