Amy's Garden Design

Amy listened to my “wish list” for the front yard of my new home, and drafted a lovely, easy to follow plan. She was prompt, got me a draft plan very quickly, and the final result is exactly what I’d hoped for.

My wife and I worked with Amy on a landscape design for our full property. Working with Amy was an absolute delight! She was incredibly responsive and helpful, and the end design she assembled came in an awesome package that included a large scale drawing as well as detailed write ups (with pictures) on all of the recommended plants. The final design was beautiful and reflected our ideas. Amy was very helpful in thinking through all of the potential design options and made recommendations on what would work best. She was also very helpful in referring us to potential contractors to take on the large scale excavation work that the design entailed. Lastly, Amy was also very helpful in thinking through priorities of what to tackle first in the design. We really enjoyed working with Amy and will continue reaching out to her for design guidance and consultations as we move forward on getting the work done.

Working with Amy is always a pleasure. Given her in-depth knowledge of local plants and the microclimates on our property, I love exploring ideas with her and always learn something. Amy makes the most of what we already have and enhances the landscape without enhancing the time and energy i need to put into it, I never feel pressured while working with Amy and appreciate her willingness to plan over time within the constraints of my budget

When we moved into our home a year ago, the garden and green space was rather neglected. Next to no beds, shrubs and plants, and an Ash tree that had to get taken down due to disease. I was looking for a business who could take my jumbled list of ideas and turn it into an actual design, so that I could then start building what I was looking for over the years to come. Amy delivered in spades! After a good amount of consultation about how much upkeep I was willing to do, how we wanted to use the space, etc, Amy delivered beautiful scaled drawings, with specific suggestions of what to plant where, how many plants to buy, etc. We plan to tackle the garden in phases, and I feel I have the perfect map to help guide me.

I am so pleased with “Amy’s Garden Design.” Amy is very thorough & works with you. She listens carefully to your ideas & puts together a creative design with drawings of your garden-to-be including computer pics & detailed info on each plant. She is very caring, competent & hands on.

Amy is a gem to work with! I met Amy a few years ago and was intrigued by her garden design service, especially after seeing at least two of her gardens in person as well as a binder full of her lovely designs. My husband and I decided we needed professional gardening help after more than 30 years in our house, so I contacted Amy’s Garden Design before the momentum was lost! To start, Amy met us at our house and walked with us around the backyard, which we want to transform. We talked about the process, about what would stay and what should be removed. Later, I sent her a general list of a few plants I like and another list of those I don’t care for. She used my lists only as a guide. After getting measurements, she did a quick design draft over the course of a few days, with a general garden layout, for approval. We had one minor change, then she was able to have a final design completed and to us in just a couple of weeks. It design was lovely (and done by hand with color - suitable for framing!) and she provided useful printouts of each plant with photos and information, explaining where each would go and how they compliment each other. I’m in the process of getting estimates from landscaping companies for the work and hope to have the gardens completed next spring. Can’t believed we waited so long!

I am so thrilled with the front yard Amy designed and planted for me! My small front yard, originally planted by the developer, was getting a little crowded and lopsided. I wanted to neaten things up and modernize. Taking inspiration from some photos I had of a garden in Mexico, Amy came up with several color schemes and plant choices from which I chose a couple favorites. Amy then created a design to showcase the plants that we spent time tweaking until we were sure it was just right. In the end, we kept most of my original plantings, but with the addition of several new ones, and some rearranging, the yard looks manicured and the colors pop. Amy also gave me a large drawing of the plan. Amy met all deadlines and budgets. Amy's design ideas, her patience explaining them to me, and her willingness to explore possibilities from all angles made for a great experience, and her vast knowledge of what plants would be appropriate for the location gave me confidence that the yard will thrive with the right care (which she also explained to me in detail.) Overall, a very fun and gratifying adventure. Thank you Amy!

Amy is a creative, collaborative & amiable consultant who listened to our needs and economically enhanced our garden. We are looking forward to working with Amy again the spring.
