We selected Bradford Associates late into our planning for a complete landscape transformation and pool project. After working with multiple contractors for various parts of the project we were running into challenges with having a plan where all components worked well together. Sara and Kristin from Bradford Associates came in and rescued the project. They did a complete new design of the pool area, patios, outdoor kitchen, and adjoining properties that flowed well and was very functional. Beyond the design work they managed all the contractors for us -- ensuring that all the components were put in place correctly and on time. What set Sara and Kristin apart was their attention to detail on every aspect of the job. Whether it was the planting plans, stone placement, fence installation, or drainage work - no small detail was overlooked. All the contractors had specific instructions on where everything should go which minimized errors in the project. They also went above and beyond and were physically onsite to make sure that the plans were being followed thoroughly. They also gave us recommendations for improvements in areas that were outside of their scope to make sure that we were covered. Feedback from our mason and landscapers was that the attention to detail and specific instructions made the job easier for everyone involved. With all the challenges a major project like this can have- we only heard positive feedback re: Sara and Kristin's work. Sara and Kristin are professional, prepared, and honest. We could not have completed a project of this magnitude without them and would recommend them to anyone looking to do a job the right way.

I recently purchased a home in Portsmouth and the backyard was a blank slate of crabgrass and dirt. After contacting Bradford Associates and discussing my wish list with Kristin, she came back with a plan that was above and beyond my wildest dreams. I loved it immediately. They also recommended a wonderful landscaper; Lucio D’Orso, he and his crew did an outstanding job with the plantings, rock placement and hardscaping. I couldn’t be happier with the whole project that went according to plan and budget. I would highly recommend Bradford Associates and will use them again for my front yard.

The project Bradford Associates did for me in Middletown, RI was fairly large. Following extensive house renovation and regrading, very little useable landscaping remained. They produced a very professional plan for all sides of the property, including a water retention basin, fencing, driveway, stone patios, and an impressive selection of plants - trees, shrubs, and perennials. The plan managed to beautifully incorporate the tree I really wanted to save - a maple my mother had planted 30 years ago. Sara and Kristin were both wonderful to work with and very responsive. It was a big relief to me to be able to leave the project in their hands and know everything was being taken care of since I was not on site. They chose and followed up with the landscaping, fence, and sprinkler system companies and took care of any issues that came up. I was delighted with the final results and would definitely return to Bradford Associates for future projects.

We hired Bradford to help us with our residential landscape project. Kristin and Sara were professional, conscientious, more than competent, and extremely easy to work with. They were exactly what we were looking for, and their price was very fair. We would hire them again in a minute, and would recommend them enthusiastically to anyone.

Kristin did an outstanding job on this outdoor project. We initially hired her for a smaller job in the front yard. She did such a great job that we hired her for a larger patio installation and landscaping project in the back. She listened to what we had in mind and developed a plan that provided the exact type of space we were looking for; but much better than we could even envision! She was consistently on the job site, found and oversaw high quality contractors and overall hit this project out of the park. We are really pleased with our new outdoor space and look forward to enjoying it with friends and family. It was transformed from an unwelcoming spot to an inviting and cozy area. Kristin was very good at coming up with practical, visually pleasing, and economical options at various points. She was always available during the project, was very easy to communicate with, pleasant, and the project was in line with the estimate provided. Her work is beautiful. I highly recommend Bradford Associates and Kristin. You won't be disappointed.

Sara transformed our boring and small backyard. With the clever use of sitting walls, an arbor and well chosen plants our city garden has depth and interest that makes us want to spend as much time outside as possible. Her service was inspired, professional and collaborative with both us and the contractor who performed the work.

Sara was a pleasure to work with. She designed a beautiful space in our backyard that includes a pool, pergola and fire pit with wonderful landscaping that continues to draw compliments. The space is on the water so she had to work with the CRMC planting list (rather limiting) and was still able to design a relaxing, soothing space that comes alive in the spring and summer with hydrangeas, waving grasses and lots of green. It has matured beautifully!

Bradford Associates Landscape Architecture have proven to be time and time again one of the most professional and talented designers I have had the pleasure to collaborate with. Their design expertise, consideration of the client and schedules goes well beyond the norm.

Sara Bradford may be one the most organized people with whom we have ever worked. She is an extremely pleasant person filled with an incredible level of experience, a remarkable insight of direction and full of ideas. One of her greatest assets comes in thinking outside the scope of her project; that is, integrating practical considerations of our home and fusing it into the outside world of her landscape design. We hired her and her staff after interviewing five other landscape architects. Without question, she is the right choice. After gathering our ideas, needs, and concerns, she presented multiple concept drawings to us that were so interesting, and well done, that they will eventually be framed as artwork for our walls. We chose isolated elements from several of the drawings, and she reassembled them as design solutions into the backyard of our dreams. She is first and foremost and artist in her trade, mixing clever possibilities with a spectrum of unique designs. Her knowledge of horticultural aspects for usable spaces and intimate garden layouts is impressive. Our personal project includes a vegetable garden, working shed, pool and spa, multiple sitting spaces, stone walls, fences, basketball court, and even a greenhouse, which are all elements in the scheme of the overall planting and landscape design. Early on she spent a lot of time making sure the drainage and grading plan for the property were adequate. We now have a unique plan to collect the water to use as a recycled supply to water our garden spaces. There is a unique side to her that “owns” the project; that is, she personally holds herself responsible for the quality and execution of the project as if it were her own. We welcome her input and know that it comes a place that cares and really knows this area. She is really proud of her work,…and, rightfully so. I also have to commend her on her availability. She personally makes herself present for all meetings with contractors, pool companies, masons, electricians, fence companies, …just to name a few. She also presented our plans to the historical commission on several occasions, even in our absence. She really shines is in her ability to organize large, complicated projects. We are watching this first hand. She is very directed and extremely detailed in clarifying responsibilities, time lines and costs amongst the different trades in order “no stone is left unturned”. The many elements and stages appeared seamless as she orchestrates the project and removes the stress we would have normally felt. Sara Bradford is a highly qualified and relatable landscape architect that gets our highest marks.

I have worked with Bradford Associates several times on a variety of projects. Besides being very creative, they are always professional and easy to work with. They are experienced project managers and their work sites are always run efficiently and respectfully. It has been a pleasure to work with them and look forward to our next project!

Working with Sarah and her team did exceed our expectations. Sarah takes the time to understand the owner's user requirements and develops a design that delivers what you are looking for. We met several times to review the conceptual layout drawings and discussed design details at length without being pressured into making a hasty decision. Sarah also provided project management services during the project execution and worked around our work schedules to review progress or discuss alternatives during execution. Doing projects always comes with a certain level of stress and disruption but this project was a very satisfying experience. The Bradford team likes being challenged and is simply really good at what they do. Even after project completion Sarah stills swings by on occasion to make sure everything is growing as it should.
