Kent and his crew did a fantastic job with our yard. Removed tree stumps, unwanted small trees, and trimmed up the big ones beautifully. Single day job done quick, efficiently, and at a reasonable price. We're hoping to work with him again in the future with some of our bigger outdoor wants.

TOTAL DISASTER We hired Kent (C&H Gardens owner) to do our backyard makeover. We showed him pictures of garden ideas we would like to incorporate in our project. He wasn’t very receptive (first red flag we ignored), but because he was available right away we gave him the job. He came up with a rough design and asked us to trust him…this is not my first BBQ he said. What a mistake we made… the whole job was a total disaster. After a few days 3/4 of our backyard was covered with ugly, cheap mulch and a whole bunch of small, poor quality plants. Many of them were brown and looked like they were dying. His response was: they will come back. Eventually he replaced a few box woods and said if you want me to replace more I will have to charge extra. Some other plants he simply planted in the wrong areas, for example roses in the shade,so they quickly started to suffer and we had to replant them. We were very specific about the color of the gravel we wanted, so it would match that which already existed on the property, but he brought a totally different color stone and then told us they are close enough. Kent turned out to be very unprofessional , was rude to me and my husband and extremely unpleasant. His attitude in the end was: I did what you wanted. He has no sense of landscape design. All materials and plants were picked randomly and of poor quality.Be very careful and very specific if you decide to hire him. He’s very overpriced for what he does. We wasted tens of thousand of dollars and ended up having to spend even more to make our garden livable again.

Kent and his amazing crew created exactly what we had hoped for. I will submit photos later. We moved to our new house July 2018 and realized we had a lot coyote activity a little too close for comfort. We have a small dog and concerned about taking him for walks. We wanted a 5 star dog run built . We also wanted the back patio to be larger as in concrete because the gophers were destroying what little grass we had in the back yard. Together with Kent, the owner of C and H designed a plan with everything we were hoping for. His Crew worked so hard. First, they showed when they said they were going to. Then the first 2 and half days worked for hours in the pouring rain. They didn't miss a day. It took a little longer but that was fine. Every crew member was friendly, polite and very detailed oriented. The last two days of the project, again worked in the pouring rain. You could tell they were proud of their work. The final project was completed today. We could not be happier. I will post photos when I get a chance to get them off of the camera. Thank you Kent for an amazing job! Thank you for the few last minute adjustments we made to make it perfect.

Kent and his crew did a fantastic job at my house. My back yard is now an oasis and a little paradise. I think this is due to Kent's artistic vision. I interviewed and met with several landscape companies because I don't know much about landscaping and needed to learn and determine who was more likely to help me bring to life my dream back yard within my budget. Kent was not the lowest cost, but he was not the most expensive either. However, if I take into account his experience and ability to create a beautiful oasis, I could say that his fees were fair. The work started on time and was completed on schedule. During the work there was very good communication with Kent and there were no surprises. The job was completed about 2 months ago and I waited some time to do the review because initially we had some issues with the sprinklers staying on and not shutting off properly, but I think and hope that we are beyond this. What I will say is that during the period that we had issues with the sprinklers we contacted Kent several times and he was responsive to all of our calls. I highly recommend this company and would use it again if I ever have another project.

Kent and his C & H Landscaping crew did an awesome job on our back patio revamp. They knew exactly what they were doing and were happy to accommodate all of our priorities, ideas, and suggestions. Kent’s professionalism and knowledge of landscaping design is also far and above the other landscaping company’s I’ve dealt with in the past. We are extremely pleased with the outcome and feel that Kent went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. We have already gotten so many compliments on how great our new patio looks. I highly recommend their work and plan on hiring them for future projects.

Kent took our back yard from a "tract home" style to a beautiful oasis. C & H Gardens completely tore out (concrete, plants, etc…) leveled the land and basically designed and built the new yard from "scratch". We now have a beautiful fountain, granite BBQ Island which seats 8 people, fire pit area, and he created a platform with steps leading up to a new Jacuzzi placed in slab. He installed pavers, irrigation, drainage and lighting. The plant selection included succulent and tropical plantings. When doing under-ground electrical, plumbing and water lines, it was very important to us to have a "licensed contractor" do the work. Thanks Kent for the excellent landscape, we enjoy it daily!

Kent put in a gorgeous outdoor grill and then completely redesigned my outdoor landscape areas. His company and work ROCKS!!

Pretty awesome. Does amazing work and is super fast. needed a long outdoor wood wall removed and replaced with a rock/mason wall. Did an excellent job. We highly recommend Kent for any outdoor landscape or hardscape work.

C & H Gardens is a wealth of San Diego landscape design and construction knowledge. He created a beautiful landscape redesign with drought resistant landscaping for my house in La Jolla. Clearly the best in San Diego county area and perhaps the u.s., I would gladly hire him and his crew again. Beyond expectations with the care for the final end result.

Kent's design, attention to detail, and completion of our backyard far exceeded our expectations. His estimate was higher than others, but what we received in every aspect was such high quality and there were no additional charges even with some drainage problems he corrected unexpectedly. Our uniquely artistic fireplace and romantic environment is where we now "live" and has changed our lives. Now we are redoing our front yard with his company (we were not planning to do this for several years). Kent truly cares, and he has an amazing crew because of his leadership.
