Carley and the team redid our entire front lawn that sits on a steep hill. We were looking for a native and conscious solution to the eroding hillside as well as adding some movement and interest to our 1950's brick ranch. They delivered! The team pulled all the english ivy from our yard, installed terracing and pathways and planted a native design that will survive in our weird shade/sun landscape. The plants also have to be juglone resistant because of a shagbark hickory in the yard, which is something I never would have known without their expertise. Saved me a lot of wondering why plants were dying if I tried to do it myself. We would and likely will hire this team again to take on more projects on our land.

My daughter and I could not be more pleased with the work that Cicada Design designed and planted; Carley communicated regularly and often so that I could stay involved remotely; she and her team worked around a construction project at my daughter's home...not an easy task. They are professional, reliable, and cost-competitive. My daughter and I recommend Cicada Design without any hesitation; it was a great working relationship and experience.

Our goal was to move our landscaping from its initial layout that was installed about three years ago, to one that was more natural and native, better able to thrive in this climate. Carly has a really practical sense of landscape design, and optimized our current plantings by replacing non-native plants with ones relocated from around the yard. That, along with some thoughtful additions, immediately brought the feel of the space to one that is more like it belongs here...without promoting a lot of extra work to maintain! She and her crew were efficient and hard-working, and we felt a tremendous value for our landscaping dollar. Lastly, Cicada takes a long view of project, and is helping us make the evolution of our yard occur at an affordable and practical pace, with a proper prioritization of changes. For that, we intend to continue to work with Carly and company on an ongoing basis.

Carley and her team did an outstanding job on our landscape project. We asked her to develop several large beds that frame our front yard and we could not be happier with the results. The design was thoughtful (all native species, deer resistant for our needs, gorgeous but subdued color scheme) and the implementation of the highest quality. Carley is also excellent at following up with her customers, answering questions, providing advice, etc. That kind of continuity is really valuable when you are working to establish and maintain a beautiful space. We will look to Carley and team for our future projects!

Carley and the entire Cicada Design Team are a joy to work with! We moved into our new home last August and contracted Carley (Cicada Design) in November to design and implement our landscaping. Through every step, she listened intently and was very responsive to our ideas and wants for our property. She found ways to incorporate the "contractors basic plants" into her design for economy! She stayed connected with us during the winter months and gave us frequent updates on her timeline for implementation. We are very pleased with the results of her design and plantings. We have been impressed with her knowledge of plants native to this locale, so they will need minimal attention during the changing seasons in NC. She is committed to the health of her plantings and the evolution of our landscape. Working with Carley of Cicada Design has been a dream! I needed help shifting my garden into one with a thoughtful plan and better plant selection, and Carley more than delivered.
