Teresa Whitaker is a landscape design professional, who specializes in landscape design, planning & management services for homeowners, builders, architects & landscape installers. Her career began as licensed builder over 25 years ago and is currently serving Michigan's Oakland County Greater Area. Her portfolio of work includes projects in Michigan, California and Costa Rica. She strives to create beautiful, well-reasoned, and masterfully planned landscapes, from large scale to small residential projects and some commercial work. Her design philosophy embraces the principles of simplicity through the use of mass plantings and clean lines, while enhancing architectural forms. She founded Creative Landscapes in 1988. The company’s work shows superb craftsmanship in masonry, carpentry, pool building, contouring, and garden creations.

We really loved working with Teresa from the beginning.... she is extremely kind and very easy to work with. We loved her laid back personality but also her willingness to press forward and get the job done ahead of timing. It was such a blessing having her manage this project. She did an amazing job designing our deck/patio. She put a lot of time into our designs and spent time going to show rooms helping us pick out the colors and materials. She was very patient with us as we took time making decisions and never felt any pressure. We love the simple yet beautiful design she came up with. We will definitely work with her again for future projects.

She is knowledgeable and professional. https://www.houzz.com/ Teresa did a fine job of creating a very pretty and diverse plan for a large native plant garden for us. She is a wonderful artist and creative thinker, and it was fun to work with her. Her plans are beautifully drawn and clear to read. We are so happy to have this garden design and look forward to planting it as soon as the weather permits. We highly recommend her to anyone who would the high quality of her work. Since this was a mitigation project, it was important that the township approved the plan; she worked very well with the environmental department of our township, who were very pleased with the professionalism of her presentation. It passed with flying colors!

Teresa took a lot of the stress off of a project that usually would cause a lot of stress. She helped with the layout and came with everything all planned out. She oversaw the entire project and was there along side throughout the project. She had a lot of ideas and was very helpful. I would recommend her to family and friends.

Teresa was great and very talented. We had the front landscape renovated a few years back and finally decided we needed the side yard done. The gentleman that did our front yard had moved, so we decided to find another one. We found Teresa through Houzz. She studied the yard and took measurements. She carried the same theme from the front yard to the backyard. She made it all blend nicely and we are very pleased with what she came up with. I would recommend her to family and friends.

We hired Creative Landscapes Detroit to design a landscape plan for the front of our house and side yard. My husband and I had very different ideas about what we wanted and Theresa was able to listen to us and come up with a design that we both love. We are very happy with the end result and have gotten many, many compliments on the work. The job was done in a timely manner, and she has checked in from time to time to answer any lingering questions about the plants/trees etc. We would hire her again in a heartbeat!

We collaborated on projects in both San Diego and Costa Rica. I installed all of her carpentry, masonry, outdoor kitchens, gazebos, concrete work, custom tile, and cabanas. She is a landscape design and plant specialist. We made a great team and she was very fun and easy to work with. I would recommend Teresa in a heartbeat. She is professional and dedicated to client satisfaction. The photos of her work in the Detroit area are very impressive. She has a talent that is difficult to describe. She has the ability to sit down with a client and read them correctly to create a beautiful design of exactly what they want and in addition, she has the ability to interpret the clients taste.
