Cathy is tremendously talented in garden design as well as completely professional. She worked very collaboratively with my husband and me, and our landscape contractor. The design she created for our vacation property, including new pathways, a small lawn, sitting areas, and food garden gave our garden a beautiful structure it had previously lacked. The planting areas are stunning, combining textures and foliage color in gorgeous combinations. We are absolutely thrilled with our new garden, and give Cathy our highest recommendation.

We had a great experience with Cathy. She was very helpful during the design phase and all the way through to completion. She was attentive to the details (positioning of boulders and plants, curve/shape of walkway) that make a huge difference in the end product. She worked extremely well with the landscape contractor. It was obvious that they have a mutual respect for each other. We really enjoy how the project turned out and get to see it every day. We have hired her to help us with the next project and have already recommended her (and the contractor) to others.

Comment from Edger Landscape Design:
It was a delight to work with you on the design and installation of your new front garden! With the new pathway and the low water plantings that include many CA native plants that are well below the water district water budget for your yard you have made wise choices throughout the process.

I worked with Cathy and the outcome is a beautiful new section of my front yard. I found her knowledge to be excellent ( I now have plants I didn't know existed!). Where we disagreed on choices, she was flexible and listened to my preferences while educating me about the characteristics of the different plants. The company that she works with to do the physical work of clearing, planting and finishing is excellent. Everything was done in a timely manner and I am more than pleased!

Thank you nunyasl5 for the positive review! I'm so glad you now have a clear view to the street and a more welcoming, and low maintenance garden, as well as no lawn to mow. I enjoyed seeing you and your shady garden last week and seeing how well it is coming along. I'm looking forward to seeing it when the Agapanthus begins to bloom! I will add a before and after photo to this post.

Cathy Edger is a highly trained and experienced landscape designer. We are do-it-yourselfers, but would have made important mistakes without Cathy's consultation. She thoughtfully analyzed our interests, personalities, needs and plans. She took into consideration our problems with deer and our desire for drought tolerant plants in the Novato, CA region. She advised us on the whole landscape situation including pavers, house architecture, irrigation, plant maintenance, neighbors and family. She then developed a lengthy plant list with a wide range for us to choose among, then guided us into further research and purchasing opportunities. She has offered her services to us anytime we might need additional help. Cathy is a delightful and competent consultant to work with and we certainly recommend her work and services.

We have a huge rectangular backyard that had been fallow for 15 years with no landscaping or hardscaping -- and needed help envisioning what our new yard was going to be and what plants we wanted. Cathy first created a beautiful design with wandering paths, and we liked it so much we hired her to create a planting plan too. Cathy knows her stuff and guided our decisions well while still being a great collaborator. Our yard is now a creative, fertile environment with "rooms" and a whimsical sense of discovery -- just what we wanted. She selected plants that would work well in each location with complementary colors and diverse foliage. We loved picking out plants with her! And, many months later, they're all doing well! She also left room for us to experiment with new plants. (I can't wait to plant my bulbs!) We've had a few large parties and everyone has given us tons of compliments. Cathy's work is fantastic!

Thank you for your kind words! Your project has been a delight from the very beginning. I wish you many happy years of enjoyment in your garden!
5/20/15 Its been a delight to visit the garden since it's installation and see it's progress. You can see it now on my Backyard Oasis project page. Here's one of my before photos that show what a significant part of the yard looked like before.

Cathy Edger designed the landscape for Gilead House a home for homeless moms and kids. She lovingly crafted a place of beauty all around our newly constructed home. Since that time she has continued to v olunteer her time to assuring our landscape retains its health and beauty and managed volunteer work parties at the same time. I can tell she loves what she does and is excellent at it. I highly recommend Edger Landscape.

It was a joy to create this design for the special women who live and work at Gilead House! I enjoy returning to help with maintenance, partially because of all the compliments the garden gets from Gilead House volunteer and neighbors passing by. There are several photos of the project on my Downtown Mediterranean Garden project page.
