EG Rall completed two fairly significant landscaping projects for me. Both were a huge success. I started with a fairly clear concept, but EG Rall created a fully developed architectural design that captured and enhanced my initial vision. The final product was beautifully finished and better than I had imagined. I live within an HOA and the approval process was exacting to say the least. EG Rall was both patient and responsive to repeated requests for information and ultimately amendment to the plan. Overall, he was extremely helpful. The construction process was actually fun to watch. The crew was exceptionally professional and gifted in their ability to craft a perfectly executed realization of the design. I wanted a garden in front of a privacy fence in a very wet area of my yard. EG suggested a rain garden and I couldn't be happier with the results. They developed a plan and installed so quickly. The crew was neat and efficient and made extra effort to clean up after the work. The garden looks beautiful and works with the challenges of my land instead of fighting it. I'm absolutely pleased with my entire experience working with EG Rall Jr. Landscape Design & Horticultural Srvs, E.G., Lito and team. They completely replaced all of the overgrown bushes with new plantings better suited to my townhouse condo. E.G.. Lito and their team patiently waited through the approval process of their design, which included a recommended removal of concrete pad under my second story deck. This involved installation of an underground drainage system and replacing the concrete with flagstone pavers and river stone. Lito and his team collaborated well with me to meet my design needs for my outdoor patio, hardscaping and landscaping. The space was regraded for runoff and drainage and drip hoses were installed for new plantings. The patio structure was redone and is now a comfortable space with a ceiling fan. The yard is so functional with two dogs since the artificial turf was added. Communication throughout the project was excellent and I knew when the courteous workers were arriving and how they were planning to tackle each project.

I've known the Rall family for years and their reputation is stellar here in NW Philadelphia and nearby suburbs. I needed a landscaping solution to an aesthetic and a practical issue (water routing) issue at my home in Mt. Airy, and EG Rall was fantastic to work with. They provided all the information, material samples and project time layout for me to share with my HOA and they were able to schedule the work in 5 weeks time. When an issue arose mid project about the curve of the curb given a step already in place, I made a request to change what they were doing and they acceded to my request on the spot. The result is a beautiful "curb" that borders the front of my garden beds and curves graciously to route rain water to the culvert beyond my property, preventing a flood from pouring over my lawn and down behind my house. Great Experience - Signed on for more projects! I just completed a major house renovation and needed my landscaping completely redone and found EG Rall via Houzz. The team was very responsive from the moment I reached out to discuss my needs; I talked to a few companies and ultimately decided to go with them as I talked to a few of their clients that gave rave reviews (and many are repeat customers which was very reassuring). My goal for 2023 was to get a landscape design of my property with the intent to install in phases and that's exactly what they delivered. I appreciated their willingness to do the phased approach and liked how I paid for the design up front so I can budget for subsequent projects. This summer I did the entire front yard - complete gut and redesign of landscaping and it included a new bluestone walkway with pathway lights and uplighting for the front of the house. It is gorgeous! They have a great team, but I'll specifically call out Lito (project manager) and Jeronimo (lead for installation of everything). They were responsive, patient with all my questions, very knowledgeable, and their work is top notch. A few problems popped up and they were successfully resolved without issues. For example, one of the trees they installed died and they've already agreed to replace without issue. I'm so happy with them that I contracted them to gut and redo my driveway (starting tomorrow) - I wasn't initially planning for it, but I was so impressed I decided to tack this on too. I can't wait to kick-off phase 2 (backyard) in the spring. I've received so many compliments from friends and neighbors with how things turned out; it's a great feeling to see your investment paid off and others notice it too. We hired EG Rall to install a new paver patio where we had a deck. They did a fantastic job from initial planning to completion. I have gotten several similar projects done at previous homes, and never received such a detailed estimate and construction plan. Our next door neighbors had a backyard patio done by EG Rall Jr. Landscape and we immediately used this company. Lito came out and was just an awesome guy to work with. Super friendly, honest, professional, and flexible. Lito took my idea and put a design together that was drafted into a contract within a couple days. The team was in and out within 3 days. They ripped out all of the old shrubbery, installed popup spouts, installed a full paver walkway, planted new shrubs, grinded the stumps on the property, and regraded any spots that needed it so water would flow away from the property. And all while being super friendly and accommodating! I am SUPER happy with how the project turned out and any work I may need done in the future i will call EG Rall (specifically Lito). EGRall Landscaping has been doing landscaping work for us since 2012. At that time we wanted a patio put in behind our home where there was just mud. The flat area of our back yard is small before it rises to a large steep hill. I wanted space for my son to play soccer and volleyball with his friends on a grassy surface, but at the same time, we needed space to have a picnic table and some hardscaping done to enjoy eating out there. Mr. Rall came out and listened to my concerns of how to utilize the space for both purposes. He designed a beautiful curve to our patio that addressed both those needs. Since then, we have had work done by this wonderful company to clear the flat part of our property above the hill. Lito came in with his crew and did an amazing job clearing out the underbrush and volunteer trees so that now we can enjoy this space as well. Lito is an AMAZING person and manager for this company. He is extremely personable, knowledgeable, responsive, competent in scheduling and managing his crews, and fun to work with (great sense of humor). Last year, Lito and his crew came and put in a garden wall in our flower beds. The slope made the soil wash down after every rain, so they put in a retention wall that now makes the flower beds look better and the soil stays put. This year, we decided that we wanted another level of blocks added on the wall, and EGRall's workers came in to do that in a very timely fashion. EGRall crews put in pavers to create walkways around the house. They created a whole new shade (hosta) flower bed. They trimmed our bushes, and put in trellises. The workers at EGRall are extremely competent, polite, very personable, and have a lot of common sense when it comes to problem solving. I was concerned about water flow around the house with the building of the back patio. Not to worry! They had one crew come in and dig and level the ground for proper drainage. Another crew came in and laid the foundation, and another put in the EPHenry blocks. Everyone who worked on this project knew what they were doing, and did the job extremely well. The workers are respectful of the property and always leave with everything cleaned up and very neat. When we started with EGRall many years ago, I had several landscaping companies come out to quote on the job. We chose EGRall because the design and the cost of this work was the best. Two years ago, I decided to be a savvy consumer and had other landscapers come and quote on the retaining wall for the flower beds. Even though we LOVED Lito and the work they did for us, I figured that after many years I should reassess and see what was out there. No other company came even close to providing a better plan and price than EGRall. I would recommend this company without hesitation. They are wonderful people, do high-quality work, and are a great value.

Fabulous service, innovative design and exceptional value. That is what we have enjoyed in working with Lito Alberto and his team at E.G. Rall, Jr. Landscaping for over the past 10 years. We started with just having a spring and fall clean-up and pruning done to our beds and yard - and then expanded to having a new brick and hand-cut stone walkway built, as well as reseeding the lawn. When we started noticing erosion near the house due to rain water, they designed and installed a new french drain beneath the front patio. We also had a small pond that we wanted to expand. They designed a new, improved and larger pond with 3 waterfalls and a stream with a submersible filter and pump beneath the pond. Watching the team dig out the area and cut and place the surrounding rock by hand was incredible - we have thoroughly enjoyed this amazing new part of our backyard, which truly exceeded our expectations. Their knowledge of trees and shrubs is virtually "encyclopedic." They know exactly what will be suitable for sun and shade areas, and what will not, and recommend the appropriate care for each. They have and will continue to be our "go to" landscapers and we recommend them without any hesitancy.

EG Rall Jr. designed and installed a patio and the surrounding landscaping for us last year. We worked with Lito on our project. He was a pleasure to work with. He was professional, responsive, and informative throughout the entire process. He listened to what we were trying to do and also offered suggestions when needed to help guide us in the right direction with design and color selections. The crew that was assigned to our project did an excellent job as well. They were very neat and organized. They made sure everything was cleaned up each day. The project was also both started and completed on time. That is often not the case with these type of projects. We are extremely happy with the finished product. The quality of work is excellent. We have had no issues with our patio since the project completion in August 2020. We have used EG Rall Jr. since then for a smaller drainage project in our back yard and we were again very happy with the entire process and end result.

We had an irrigation system installed on our property. Our yard is quite large and had some landscape challenges to consider with the installation. Lito and his crew did a great job with everything. There were a few issues that arose with the installation and Lito was persistent to make sure that the irrigation system was working properly and effectively. Many years ago, Lito helped us to realize an oriental look garden, while 3-4 other landscapers just ran away without giving any proposals. The garden held up very well and looked very beautiful as how my parent had it in Asia. For years, we lost contact. In 2019, we moved to a new house and not only we want another oriental look garden, but it had a flash flood problem. Three landscapers came and simply vanished without any proposals. At the end of 2020, I tried to search for Lito and found out that he is currently working for EG Rall Jr. as the project manager (note that several other reviews mentioned his name). He came in early 2021, and within days, he gave a 21-page proposal to solve the water problem, including a sketch of a new oriental look garden. We decided to go to with EG Rall Jr because of him, however, we also gave credits to the workers. They were very professional and communicative. Jorge, one of the workers, was very helpful and always double checked with us. The whole process was very pleasant and the project came out very well. The scope of the project includes storm water management, grading, permeable pavement installation, removal of old asphalt driveway, replanting existing plants, and .... a new amazing oriental look garden that made us feel like home. Not only Lito can lead the project, but he was backed with a great team. I highly recommend EG Rall Jr. Landscape for what they can deliver.

EG Rall Landscape created the most lovely 'front-scape" that I didn't even know I wanted or needed.! And It all happened "organically" as a happy by-product. Initially I hired the company for water remediation. From first meeting to proposal to installation to completion EG showed obvious competence and expertise. Further, his crew was hard-working and personable and took time to patiently answer any of my questions. I also liked that at the end of each day they left the area cleaned-up and neat. Since plants in the front of my house needed to be removed during the project, I was delighted to discover that my exposed house was quite handsome and needed a landscape make-over. EG and team planned and installed a perfectly beautiful and house-appropriate design --- all within 3 days and within my budget. I had no idea how badly I needed new landscaping and no idea how much I would enjoy the finished project . Each day walking to my front door is a new-found pleasure. EG Srvs. dried-up my drainage issues and left my home more beautiful than when they arrived.

We just completed the third phase of our backyard makeover with E.G. Rall which included the addition of lighting, a pergola and landscaping changes to manage drainage from the original house build. E.G Rall did a paving job at out home. One area was sinking. He did come back out to look at it, however, he refused to honor his warranty agreement and would not fix this. The puddling is still there. It can be fixed. He just not want to do it. The next step would be to pay $875 to have a inspector look at this issue and give their opinion. This company does not stand by their work. I would think twice about this out fit

Bravo! We had a large (for us) hardscaping and landscaping job to replace a patio and pool apron, add a deck, improve storm water management, enlarge flower beds, add outdoor lighting, and more that I can't remember. We worked with Lito and he was a pleasure the whole way. EG Rall wasn't the cheapest quote but their quote was the most comprehensive and least likely to result in change orders. Communication was outstanding from start to finish and their crews were always respectful. We're going to miss seeing "The Big Jims" (as my young daughter calls them for some reason) here every day. I can't say enough good things about this company. I can see how these jobs could become a nightmare, but this was a great experience. Highly recommended!

E.G. Rall Jr. did a wonderful job helping me restore the landscaping around the house we recently moved into which was totally overgrown and abandoned. Their supervisors, Joe and George, were knowledgeable and hard working. They cleared the old beds, created new ones where needed and restored the soil. Later on, we and two or our neighbors used E.G. Rall Jr. again to clear overgrown land behind our three houses. We were all happy with the work they did. I would use this company again whenever needed.

EG Rall developed a comprehensive landscaping plan for our new home and his team did a superb job installing the hardscaping, irrigation and plant material. When one of the trees failed to thrive, EG promptly replaced it. We were extremely happy with the end results and the pleasure of working with a true professional.

EG Rall Jr., Landscape Design did an excellent job for us. The first project was to install pavers, build a wall and add drainage for existing deck and steps. This was no small feat but this company turned it into a beautiful project. The second project involved replacing railway ties, replacing walkway, adding plantings and mulch. Again, not a small project but the men worked their magic and made everything look wonderful. The job was completed in a timely fashion and the men cleaned up the work area after each day. EG Rall Landscape redid our front yard in 2018. Our plants and shrubs unruly and past their prime. EG removed all of the old shrubs/plants and replanted the area with plants that were more appropriate. The landscape plan was designed with my input in terms of what plants I liked and what colors I wanted. EG had lots of suggestions based on my input. The final plan was exactly what I wanted and was beautiful from the day the plants went in. Over a year later, the plants are thriving and we get compliments from people walking by our house. When I look back at old pictures of the yard, I can see how unkempt and overgrown everything looked. I love driving past my yard now- even in winter. Everyone on their staff was polite and friendly and easy to work with. I wholehearted recommend them.

For years we had water entering our basement that was flowing down from the next door neighbors yard. EG Rall Landscape recommended and installed a trench drain to a pop up outlet and over 2 years later no water has entered our basement. They also repaired our back patio and did an excellent job. They have a very hard working crew.

They installed a simple, but beautiful patio in our yard. There was a smal is with the border pavers (coloration). Upon calling them, they returned and replaced the affected pavers within a short time. I consider this great customer service.

We used EG Rall do do a fairly large drainage project in our side yard. They ran all of our downspouts underground and improved drainage in a swampy area of our yard. From our first contact, they were thorough, knowledgable, and professsional. The work was done well and on time. Our experience was great.

The initial work was very good and satifying . However , there have been a few issues that needed correction and or review by this installer. The issues with this is that the professional was very defensive and always had a comment to the effect about it may not be covered under warranty or it has been too long. Never making the customer feel comfortable about workmanship . I have attached an example of a concrete pillar they installed a couple years ago for the back Patio. Now my concern is/was that this Pillar has been moving. I decided to reach out to my project manager at Rall and the first response I received was it's out of warranty . I understood this but then they proceeded to explain that it may have been hit by something . Unbelievable !! Just be aware that they certainly are not customer friendly after the fact and let you know that it's taking up their time to follow-up. I have since had to seek another contractor to address issues.

I hired EG Rall to excavate a small back yard and put in a paver patio that could double as a patio space or parking space for our city home. EG was great to work with, the work was completely quickly and was exactly what we were looking for. I'd recommend his work to others.

I’m a little late on posting this as EG and his crew were at my property this past summer. I wanted to leave a review to express my appreciation for not only the work that was done but also the professionalism of EG and his entire crew. EG came to my property to assess our drainage issues and came up with a solution within the week. I was thoroughly impressed with the detail of his proposal and how he broke down everything for me to easily understand. He didn’t try to pressure me into doing more than I needed and in the end we actually decided to wait on some parts and added to others. Lito was the lead on our project and was on sight pretty much every day to check on the work and to ensure that all the work was done to specification. He was easy to get in contact with if I had questions or concerns during the process and made tweaks if needed to satisfy my concerns. I was amazed at how much attention to detail he kept during the process, even redoing one part of our project multiple times until it met his approval (at no cost or request by me)! The follow up by EG, Lito and his team has been great as well. Prior to contacting EG, I had contacted another service and they proposed a completely different solution that would not have really resolved our issue and was expensive to perform. I highly recommend EG Rall and his crew for any of your Landscaping engineering needs. We hope to get in touch again next spring/summer for his horiticultural services.

E.G. and his team do a great job at a fair price. I love how easy it is to schedule time for E.G. to come out and advise me on what needs to be done and how quickly they schedule the work. The guys doing the actual work are so nice and do a great job. I have used E. G. twice and will use them for any future landscaping work.

EG Rall Jr. Landscape Design & Horticultural Services completed a project for my family during the fall of 2016. The project consisted of planter walls/beds, a patio area for entertaining and a walkway connecting the driveway to the patio. We also installed a lighting system and a drip line for easy watering during the warmer months. Before starting the project we met with an independent designer, recommended to us by EG Rall Jr., to design our patio and help with tree and plant selections. The designer, who has been working with the company now for at least 10 years, was very helpful and incorporated many of our ideas into the plan. From start to finish the team was great to work with. The design/build manager was onsite almost daily. He answered our questions and made suggestions throughout the project. Lighting and paver samples were provided to us which greatly helped in the selection process. The crew, who worked long days, was very thorough, courteous and always cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. My family and I couldn’t be happier with the end product. The flowers in bloom this spring and summer were absolutely beautiful and we really enjoy our new outdoor space. Since completing our fall 2016 project, we have used EG Rall Jr. Landscape Design & Horticultural Services for fall and spring clean ups and the installation of a new aluminum fence. We look forward to working with this professional and devoted company again in the near future.

Great to work with from start to finish. Listened carefully to what we wanted and followed up on every detail. The team on site was respectful and cleaned up everything when finished. I would use them again

Just went from 5 stars on my first review to 1. Initially terrific and I trusted them to do the right thing when it came to pricing out the work to be done. Slowly but surely the pricing for my projects kept escalating. This included "travel time" now. Last example was leaf removal. My neighbors pay between $150 on the low side and $400 on the high side. Keep in mind this is blowing leave to the street, not bagging. Charge was $560. I found this to be ridiculous, and when I suggested so, no attempt to appease me simply an explanation that this is the cost and also again.....travel time. To add insult to injury when I decided to pay over the phone as I had many times in the past, I was told there would be a 1.5% surcharge to do so. Can you imagine??? Needless to say I declined and when I get time will mail a check. My fault for not getting pricing up front, but I trusted they would be within reason. Since my yard requires three leaf blowing sessions it would have been crazy. They are no longer my landscaper. Word to the wise, unless you are a customer who doesn't need to ask how much things cost, get the contract up front and be prepared. Extremely disappointing with the situation and the response to my concern.

Mr. E.G. Rall Jr. himself was very accommodating and I truly appreciated all of his personal efforts to assist and answer all of my questions. His staff was very impressive in the beginning of our experience but I felt that after the financial transaction had taken place he didn't display the same efforts. As I expressed to Mr. Rall (about his staff) that acceptional customer service should remain in place even after you've received final payment.. Again, Mr. Rall himself was very accommodating and understanding. The workers who actually did the job were also very professional. I loved the finished product!!

Built a new boulder/rock retaining wall. Couldn't be happier with the finished product. They showed up when scheduled and completed the job in a resonable time frame.

E.G. Rall landscaping did an excellent job planting two trees for me. They were punctual and respectful- overall they were excellent.

The staff was prompt and hard-working. They stayed on the job until it was complete. They were also very friendly and respectful. The wall looks beautiful, and the plants are all starting to bloom - our yard has never looked better! E.G. Rall has also taken over our complete lawn care and the grass looks amazing- i highly recommend them- the entire staff is pleasant and easy to work with!

E.G. Rall Jr. Landscape Design did 2 projects for a property I had just purchased. They first removed a large amount of ivy from the stone exterior of the 3-story home. They subsequently cleared a rear yard that was overgrown with ivy mixed with poison ivy, removed 6 tree stumps, added soil to re-grade the area and seeded with grass. The removal of the ivy from the home was mandated by the homeowners insurance company and was on a very short time frame. E.G. Rall sent out a crew quickly to do that portion of the job, which was extremely helpful! The rest of the work was competed fully and professionally. The crew was prompt, courteous and thorough. I was very happy with the job.

I have been using EG Rall Landscaping for almost 10 years now. We just recently installed landscape lighting and they did a wonderful job!

Rall has handled our Homeowners Association's landscaping for the last 6 years. They have done two redesign projects which have significantly improved the appearance of the front entrance. They have been reliable and responsive.

We hired E.G. Rall Landscaping for our weekly lawn maintenance and subsequently hired them to redesign beds, repair a stone wall, address drainage issues and rebuild our back cedar deck. The company and it employees are a first class operation. They were on time and on budget and delivered an exceptional product. The team is great to work with and are very cordial and professional. I recommend them without reservations!

E.G. and his helpers are thoroughly professional and do high quality work, whether seasonal clean-ups or more extensive landscape projects. They've done both for me and I've always been very pleased with the work. E.G. is personable and attentive to his customer's needs. It's been a pleasure working with him. E.G. responds personally to all of my emails, stops by the house to discuss projects before I agree, and his workers are efficient and friendly - they know what they're doing.
