Scott Chester and his team at FiveSTAR Landscape were incredible to work with. We found Scott four years after a disastrous experience with a different local landscaping company. Scott earned our trust early in the process given his patience, knowledge and candidness around the project. We worked with FiveSTAR’s landscape architect early in the process who was very good and helped take our ideas and turn it into a design that fit with our house and yard size. Scott then worked with us on compiling a budget that was transparent and provided us with various design alternatives to keep the costs in check. The best part of the process though was the execution phase, which consisted of the same crew every time who were clean, hard-working and respectful of our home and property as well as Scott who would come to our house daily to monitor the project execution and consult with us on various installation items. Scott is an extremely detail oriented person who takes a lot of pride in his work. His expertise goes beyond landscaping and helped us construct a grill and patio area that fit seamlessly into our existing house as if it was always there. I would highly recommend the entire team at FiveSTAR.

Scott and FiveStar are fantastic! They did an amazing job with my front and back yards—from hardscaping, to landscaping, to a beautiful fountain, and a custom kitchen. Scott is extremely thorough and patient and provides excellent service during and after the work is complete.

I was connected to Scott with FiveSTAR Landscape through Houzz in Fall of 2023. From our first meeting with Scott, it was evident that he is responsive, qualified, and honest. My wife and I walked the site and received landscape design bids from five design firms. Scott's loss-leader design-build business model made his design bid very competitive. Scott and a professional landscape architect worked patiently with us thorough several deign iterations. The final design was a beautiful representation of our vision. Scott prepared a detailed construction scope/bid based on our design. I had three other contractors bid for construction based on the design. Bids were competitive and Scott (FiveSTAR Landscape) was not low bid. However, after comparing the scope of work and other contract terms, it was evident Scott was most qualified (in addition to being the most familiar with the design). We selected FiveSTAR Landscape. Scott Chester and his crew with FiveStar Landscape are amazing! You can tell that Scott is very passionate about his work and he truly wants the homeowner to be happy with the finished product. His crew seemed to share the same work ethic as they took extra time with details to make sure things were done properly. They were also incredibly friendly to my husband and me, but also to our young son which meant a lot. The landscape architect on our job was a creative genius. It was really fun to discuss plan options with him. It's hard to know when hiring a company if you will get what you pay for but with FiveStar Landscape you definitely do! So I wanted a bocce ball court – spoke to several firms in the Houston area and I had to enlighten several on what a bocce ball court was. While returning home one day, I saw a neighbor having a beautiful fountain installed and pulled over and asked the gentleman working hard on it “hey can you make a bocce ball court?” His immediate response was “are you thinking oyster shell base?” Touchdown – this guy knows what he’s doing. Turns out it was Scott Chester who over the course of the next several weeks worked with my wife and I along with landscape architect Harry Dill to come up with a magnificent redesign of our entire front entrance and surrounding landscape. Our house with its renewed curb appeal will continue to improve as the stunning plants, shrubs, flowers, and herbs mature and bring years of beauty – and even more special – low maintenance! We added sprinklers to keep the garden growing and state of the art LED lighting to enhance the visual during the evening hours. We have a fantastic brick paver entrance up to new stairs and custom made iron hand railings as built by David Lindsey and his son under Scott’s direction. Scott is a tremendous talent and he cares. I mean he cares big time – he stayed late into the evenings, used his skills in making sure the drawings were exactly duplicated in the actual landscaping and checked it not once but twice and three times. He is a perfectionist and yet still a joy to work with! What I liked about Scott was he was direct “ we are not the cheapest nor are we the most expensive” and he even gave us a line item detail of what his plan was and even suggested that we “take my quote and go get comparison quotes.” Are you serious? Who does this anymore? Just somebody who knows what they are doing and stands by the quality of his workmanship and confident in his capabilities. After about two months since install was complete ; sadly, we had a few plants that did not make it. Scott replaced them without even a question. That’s who we want to work with. Oh, and I did get my custom made bocce ball court………and it is beyond what we expected – a work of art for sure. Ultimately the garden is for my wife and I to enjoy – but it is nice to hear “house looks beautiful” as the neighbors walk by. We highly recommend the crew at Five Star Landscaping of Houston with Scott Chester at the helm. Work together and you will not be disappointed.

We were and continue to be delighted with the work which FiveSTAR did for us. Scott Chester and his crew were extremely professional and on top of every detail of the job. The project was on time and on budget, incorporating the change orders we initiated during the project.

We are very pleased with our experience with Scott and the FiveStar Landscaping team. We showed Scott and his designer Harry some images of our favorite vacations and they were able to design and deliver a look that is like coming home to our favorite design destination everyday. During the project, Scott was always thinking s few steps ahead. He was anticipating what would work best based on our soil, the lighting, and so many other factors. Of all the remodeling projects and repairs I've done, this was by far the smoothest and least stressful. My husband and I both work long hours, have two year old twins and had a budget we needed to stick to. Scott accommodated to our schedule for design meetings and once the project started checked in daily to discuss every detail. Scott and the crew went above and beyond to make sure the quality of the work not only met our expectations, but gave us what we really wanted. We realized early on that our budget would not allow for all our wants, and we focused on a "first phase" but they truly outdid themselves. There was not a single moment in the project where I felt frustrated or worried, in addition to being completely happy with the outcome. We could not recommend Scott and his crew more.
