Highly Recommend! Carmen and her team at Ground Works Inc. were instrumental in converting our Manhattan brownstone garden into an oasis of peace. Carmen combines being both professional and personable. After meeting with a number of different gardeners we are very lucky to have been referred to Carmen who agreed to fit in planting our garden in a very short time frame. We were particularly impressed with Carmen's careful resourcefulness and environmental sensitivity in reusing a large section of stone that we were going to discard. Additionally, her thoughtful attention to small details, such as planting Belgium tomatoes as a nod to my nationality and catnip for our cat, were particularly appreciated.

We recently worked with Groundworks to design and install a garden in our front yard. They were extremely professional and thoughtful about the design. They did a great job creating a garden that would look good throughout the seasons and as it matures. They were also really detail oriented and hand picked the perfect tree and stones for our project. I had a great experience working with them from our first meeting through the installation. Even after the garden was installed, they came by a few times to check on the garden and follow up. They did an amazing job and I was really impressed by how quickly they understood our aesthetic and were able to translate our adjectives into a beautiful garden that surpassed our expectations.

I have done 3 projects with Groundworks and each and every time they are amazing! They executed the installation of a high end courtyard and green roof in 2010, a high end rear lot landscaping job in 2012 and landscaping/window box touch ups for 17 mews houses with a facade restoration. They are extremely professional, creative, easy to work with, budget conscience and extremely knowledgeable. I wish all of my subcontractors worked as efficiently and intelligently as Groundworks.

We were extremely impressed by the principals, their team as well any subcontractors they hired. Everyone who works for them is courteous, responsible, and highly skilled. The owners took the time to listen to us and understand our needs and desires for our garden. They generated multiple designs that helped us to refine and further our vision. Once work began, they were efficient and professional. Things happened according to schedule and any hiccups were addressed immediately. They are warm, funny and smart and were a real pleasure to work with. Our garden turned out beautifully. We wanted to use primarily native plants for our garden and the plants they choose have a beautiful mix of textures, shapes, and colors. They really paid attention to how the garden would look across each season and made sure there was always something interesting going on. We have continued to work with them as the garden evolves and would highly recommend them to anyone.
