Firstly, we're thrilled to have been selected by you after such a careful search and after hiring three or four other designers who did not meet your expectations.
It's unfortunate to hear that your experience was not positive as we recall that after we were finished, your wife requested for us to collaborate on another area of the property, which makes this feedback surprising.
I’d like to clarify a few points for a balanced perspective:
* Timeline Accuracy: Your project began in May 2023, not May 2025 as stated in this review.
* Initial Engagement: Our first phone call was on April 19th, 2023 and our first in-person meeting was held four days later. I recall this meeting to be challenging as there was difficulty reconciling your differing visions. Despite the challenges, a beautiful urban front and back yard design was delivered to you a few weeks later.
* Project Timeline and Delays: We pride ourselves on our responsive and helpful support team. We completed multiple revisions (9 in total) and you engaged a contractor to start in August 2023. During construction, further changes were requested, including changes to the layout and a request to reuse existing plants. The construction was completed in August 2023.
* Pricing and Transparency: Multiple changes during construction can be difficult for the design team to make edits to drawings in a timely manner. An onsite meeting was held with your wife and the foreman, and a detailed plant list with pricing was shared and approved in advance of any product shipping. I personally monitored the planting and ensured all additional requests and changes were accommodated, despite my recommendations to the contrary.
* Final Outcome: We received positive feedback from your wife, who sent photos of the gardens and even requested further collaborations in other parts of the property. Regrettably, professionalism concerns and inappropriate supplier interactions led us to decline further engagement.
* Garden Health: Last year, we were informed that the garden looked terrible and almost everything died. An inspection occurred, and it appeared that the plants had survived however the garden was showing signs of neglect and lack of water. We inspected the irrigation reports, and it appeared that the irrigation system was not turned on until May 25th and was only operational for 40-60% of the growing season. Maintenance and irrigation recommendations were provided to your wife at that time which will make a significant improvement in the health and vitality of the garden.
We understand this was challenging for you and regret any distress caused. We have learned a great deal from this experience and sincerely wish you all the success with your new design team.
