The challenge - A southwest facing open to the street corner grass landscape with full sun and all the neighbourhood dog traffic. The solution - an innovative design and flexible patio space (for any occasion) that is pet friendly, easy to maintain, and practically takes care of itself. After meeting John and Andrew at the Home & Garden Show at the end of February they followed up with a week later with a site visit. Immediately they understood the challenge and created a design to meet the needs of the property. With continued and responsive communication and one additional visit with John and Andrew we ironed out the details of plants and landscaping. The job was scheduled in for the end of June. From removing trees and all of the grass to fully hardscaping it took a total of only four business days. Will and his crew were incredibly professional and hardworking. They included me in decisions and adaptations and educated me on the setup of the irrigation Tyler put in place. I am continually thanked by the neighbours for the beautiful results and am looking forward to enjoying the space Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Amazing process from start to finish! Five stars!! John and Andrew presented creative plans to give our 30+ year old yard a great major facelift. Gave us lots of time to ask questions, answered our emails with detail and clarity, were responsive to our suggestions and explained if our ideas would not be the best. All in all, lovely to work with them. As we have not done such a project before they always communicated efficiently and respectfully as to what we should expect and how the process was proceeding. When the crew came to work, they were all extremely professional, hardworking, very friendly, efficient, and always cleaned up! It is evident that they are all well trained, and that JVR treats them all fairly and with respect. (They even brought their own toilet!) There were a few new staff at the start of the season, and Ty would always respectfully give him the time and support he needed. Amazing how much they accomplished every day, and they met our time requirements perfectly! I was always amazed that when the work was getting done, if we discussed a change with either John or Ty, that it was always communicated right away to a crew member and it was done! We already had a lot of perennials that were overgrown, and John worked with us to split them and replant, working with what we already invested in and enjoyed, instead of throwing them all out and buying more. As we have no experience with product selection, they recommended very good products for us, and we are pleased with the choices of product and color that they helped us choose. With a referral to JVR from a friend, we put our trust in them, and didn’t spend forever agonizing about product selection, which made the planning process time more reasonable and less stressful. At the end of their work, they left us with very clear, well thought out, written instructions for ongoing maintenance and warranty information, and this was greatly appreciated. We have dreamed of a beautiful garden space for years to add to our daily life enjoyment and are so pleased that we finally made the decision to do it! Heartfelt gratitude to this wonderful company and all the men who have added more joy to our lives!

JVR did the landscaping on our new build and transformed our lot from a big pile of dirt to a beautiful yard that we LOVE. They did it all! Sport court, trees, sod, garden beds, pots, stone work and pathways. They started promptly every morning with a full crew and worked long hours to get our project done in the most timely manner. All of the crews were exceptionally polite and a pleasure to have at our home. Would not hesitate to recommend them! They are the best.

We have been incredibly impressed with JVR’s services from beginning to end. Andrew did a great job listening to our wishes, drafted plans that accommodated our needs with style and functionality. The project was executed smoothly and quickly. The crew was easy to work with, kept a very clean worksite and we felt very comfortable with them in our space – we noticed that nobody swore – good manners by all. John incorporated some of our existing plants as well as new ones, so the beds look more full than we were expecting. Once completed, the yard looks fantastic – better than we envisioned. We look forward to seeing it grow and mature as it ages, and enjoy many more activities and make memories in the space. The quality of the work is great, zero complaints – we definitely recommend JVR, you won’t be disappointed.

JVR was amazing to work with. The entire team was aligned, with a positive "can-do" approach and leadership from John, Andrew, Ty. Thank you for meeting our key August 1st deadline with over 20 people installing large mature trees, shrubs, putting green, raised garden planters, new lawn, and the irrigation system - all appearing in a flurry of well-coordinated activity. The landscape and gardens are truly beautiful. It was a complicated project, on an inner-city site, and your team made it seamless. Ten years ago JVR Landscape did a fantastic job sculpting our backyard including new deck, stone path, new gates, flower gardens and reshaping the terrain. We recently reached out to replace a fence. JVR crew removed original fence and constructed with new in "one day"! Their professionalism, courtesy, tidyness and workmanship was outstanding. We struggled to find a concept that would work for our backyard as our lots was originally very sloped. John was able to find us a great solution that turned our backyard into a complete oasis. The JVR team is very professional and reliable as well, and they ensure to go above and beyond. John has gone out of his way to find a very specific clematis for our garden that matches the theme that I asked for, and the JVR team also replaced some of the spots in our grass with new sod, which was a nice surprise when we came home one day. We also enjoyed working with John because there were no surprises on our invoice at the end of our project, it was exactly what we were expecting. We would hire JVR again and our family members have begun to hire them as well, all with the exact same experience. Thank you to John and the JVR team - we love our backyard!

Kudos to everyone who had a part in the amazing transformation of my property from an eye sore to the neighborhood envy! The whole project, from 1st contact to completion was done in a surprisingly timely manner. John and Andrew never winced at my many changes to the plan and I would get an amended copy the very next day! Will, the site Supervisor, kept me informed on the progress throughout the project and everyone on site seemed to know exactly what their job was for the day and wasted no time getting it done. To sum it all up, all of the JVR Team were professional, pleasant and accommodating. A few of my neighbors also commented on this…so THANK YOU! To top it all off, my final Bill was $3000 UNDER Budget!!! It doesn't get any Better than That!
