Kellie Carlin Landscape Design

We met Kellie on the recommendation of a local landscape company we were considering for installation of new landscaping on our property. As a result of the drought, we were interested in a new low-water landscape design for our home in Napa Valley. The previous design required high water use, was dated, and had matured well beyond the relatively small parcel size. We met with Kellie, explained conceptually what we were looking for and what type of plants we were considering. We were immediately impressed with her ideas and elected to contact with her. She guided us through references about plants and cover towards development of the final design. Wow did Kellie deliver! With her first iteration of the design she captured 95% of what we were looking for and the remaining 5% were a result of changes we had considered following our initial meeting. Once we approved the final plan, Kellie made a point to drop by and “oversee” the landscaping evolution during installation and assisted with plant placement and nuance to improve the final result. Since completion of the project, Kellie’s design has been: •Recognized by our local community for its appearance. •Selected for and included on a Napa County landscape tour demonstrating how great low-water landscaping can appear. •Scores of neighbors and friends have commented on the look and asked for Kellie’s contact information. Kellie Carlin designed and oversaw the installation of our new pool gardens, patio and dry creek bed. After discussing with us her ideas and telling her our preferences, Kellie visited the property several times to understand the climate and lighting of the large area. She provided us with a beautiful blueprint with each of the almost 300 plants and trees indicated, and photos of those she chose so we could envision our future garden. She suggested a landscaper for the project, and visited often to check on the progress. We couldn't be more pleased with the design and are looking forward to many years of enjoying our beautiful new pool garden.

We consulted with Kellie following visiting our friend's yard where she had recently completed the design and work with the landscape contractor. We were impressed with Kellie's pre-consultation questionnaire that assisted us in focusing our desires for our yards, and appreciated the inquisitive probing that Kellie conducted when meeting and touring our yards for the first time. She was astute in integrating our desires, with her recommendations for design, and appreciative of her last minute adjustments when we had second thoughts about certain features. Kellie's selection of plants for both our back and front yard were spot on and upon blooming, she capture the color mixtures we were striving for. I cannot rate Kellie Carlin high enough for her expertise, extensive knowledge of plants for various climates, thoughtfulness, amazing creativity, flexibility and much, much more. She has designed three garden "remodels" for us -- two more natural gardens in St. Helena and one a very formal garden in San Francisco. All have been exquisite! We have since sold our San Francisco house, but the buyers told us the garden sold the house, and we were very pleased because i sold for well above asking price! Her latest large front yard and side yard remodel and received the "thumbs up" from passersby, our neighbors, friends and family.
